I went live on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 to post-game Jazz at the Bolt 2024 — hundreds of happy folks, due to the music by dozens of musicians, underwritten by months of hard work from Cory, Tim, and the team.I enjoyed every minute of the music at the Shadbolt and at Frankie's, and your company. I feel lucky to have been involved and to have had a window into this unique event. My personal thanks to: Cory and Tim (all the love and respect I got for you both), all the volunteers I worked with, my friends for hanging with me, and Chris Wong for writing and printing a book for the ages. I also got to meet some Rhythm Changes subscribers whom I hadn't met in person yet. You know who you are. Your support makes my world go round. We're bringing this vibe all year!

Have you ever heard God speak in a riddle or a pun? God is a masterful communicator with a great sense of wit and humour! We see God's communicative ability from the beauty of creation. The same God who breathed diversity and creativity into the natural world continues to speak with the same qualities by his Spirit. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.” (Psalm 19:1-2) On this podcast episode, Tania talks to pastor and prophet, David Shadbolt, a minister from the UK who is passionate about communication with both God and people. In this episode, David shares his experience of Holy Spirit's creativity, including: His first experience of hearing God's voice and the simple advice of his mentor, “read the Bible, listen to God and ask what you should do.” His insights about the importance of having the freedom to step out and explore what Holy Spirit is saying. The importance of hearing God in the small things of our lives. “God speaks into the context of our lives. Most of the time, God speaks about simple and small things, but the small can become extraordinary in the hands of our God.” The power of the prophetic Spirit who reveals the secret of our hearts and we learn that God is really among us (1 Corinthians 14:25) “When God reveals the secrets of our hearts, we realise that God is no longer just historical - the God of the dusty Bible - he is also one living among us.” Some wild and creative God conversation stories that involved riddles and puns. How to expand and deepen your prophetic imagination. Subscribe to God Conversations with Tania Harris and never miss an episode! About David David Shadbolt is the founder of the School of Prophecy in the UK and part of the wider leadership team across the five congregations of Hope Church in the borough of Bromley, Kent, UK. He is a speaker, entrepreneur, author and prophetic teacher in the marketplace. and has authored a number of books including ‘God's Healing for Businesses'. David is based in London, but travels globally ministering into a range of church and business contexts. He helps people discover for the first time, or maybe afresh, the wonder of true spiritual communications and the myriad of ways that God communicates to us - and then, through us, to others. On this episode of The Paul Weller Fan Podcast, I chat with Bob Manton and 'Just Jeff' Shadbolt from Purple Hearts. Formed in 1978, they were a mod-influenced band that blended elements of post-punk, new wave, and mod revival, creating a distinct and energetic sound that resonated with a wide audience beyond the confines of the mod scene. We talk about their discovery of The Jam as punk loving teenagers in Essex, to the creation of their first band The Sockets and an original punk rock opera inspired by a NME cartoon strip that poked fun of Paul, Bruce and Rick...That band turned into Purple Hearts and a more mod-influenced sound, which, thanks largely to The Jam, was beginning to capture public attention. The band even went on to support The Jam in 1981 - and Paul Weller even produced and played on a couple of songs for what would have been their second album...As you'll hear on the podcast, whilst they were often associated with the mod scene, Purple Hearts transcended categorization, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of their audience that continues to beat strong over four decades later. Their unique blend of music and passion for mod culture set them apart, making them not just a mod band, but a band that truly loved and embodied the mod spirit. For the latest news on the band - head to their Facebook group here...The BandBob's distinct vocals and Jeff's skilled bass-guitar work formed the foundation of the band's sound with guitarist, Simon Stebbing and Gary Sparks on drums. Their partnership went beyond just musical collaboration – it was a meeting of minds that allowed Purple Hearts to craft songs that resonated deeply with their audience. The FansPurple Hearts' connection with their audience wasn't just ephemeral; it was deeply personal and lasting. The band's lyrics spoke to the realities of everyday life, love, and the struggles of youth, resonating with fans across generations. Their relatable songs weren't confined to a specific time or place, giving them a timeless appeal that continues to draw listeners in. This connection wasn't solely about the music; it was about sharing experiences and emotions that have universal relevance. The Weller ConnectionPurple Hearts signed to Chris Parry's Fiction Records label in 1979.You may remember Chris from Episode 76 as the man who signed The Jam to Polydor!.When that deal came to an end, Paul Weller produced a couple of demos for the band - also playing and providing backing vocals on Plane Crash and Concrete Mixer. In February 1981, Purple Hearts supported The Jam on tour dates at Sheerwater Youth Club Woking, Norwich University, Nottingham University and Crawley Leisure Centre. Bob and Jeff also mentioned Brighton, although I haven't managed to find a live date in 1981 for that in the archives.... do let me know people!Photo on the cover - Martyn Goddard (Podcast Guest 41) also took the shot for the cover of their single "My Life's a Jigsaw" on Safari Records. In 2021, Bob and Jeff created PH2 (Internationally known as Purple Hearts 2) and released a couple of new singles - Produced, Engineered and Mixed by Steve Cradock - 1974 / You Can't Tell Me Lies and Urban Soul / Livin' in the 70's.In a further link with The Jam , you can see Purple Hearts on the road in 2023 and 2024 supporting Bruce Foxton and Russell Hasting's From The Jam... (QuantumTechPod) Host Chris Bishop, today interviews Pete Shadbolt, PsiQuantum Co-Founder and CSO. Pete Shadbolt is a cofounder of PsiQuantum. As Chief Strategy Officer, Pete oversees the application and implementation of all technology and scientific related polices and procedures that are vital to the success of PsiQuantum, a Palo Alto-based startup building a general-purpose silicon photonic quantum computer. Pete earned his PhD in experimental photonic quantum computing from the University of Bristol in 2014. PsiQuantum was founded on the premise that if you want a useful quantum computer, you need fault tolerance and error correction, and therefore ~1,000,000 physical qubits– to address commercially useful quantum computing applications. While there are many different approaches to building small numbers of qubits, the photonic approach taken by PsiQuantum has profound technical advantages at the scale required for error correction. IQT hopes that our conversation with Pete Shadbolt, PsiQuantum Co-Founder and CSO will make this an interesting, informative and worthwhile talk for you.
