How to Be a Girl is an audio podcast I produce about life with my six-year-old transgender daughter. It stars the two of us -- a single mom and a six-year-old "girl with a penis" -- as we attempt together to sort out just what it means to be a girl.

Ivy Insights

The How to Be a Girl podcast is a truly remarkable and touching show that follows the journey of a mother and her transgender daughter. As the mother of a child going through similar struggles, I can relate to their experiences and it is comforting to know that we are not alone. This podcast has provided me with a sense of community and understanding that I have been searching for.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to educate and enlighten listeners about transgender issues. The storytelling is beautifully done, with both the mother and daughter sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a vulnerable and honest way. It has truly expanded my perspective on transgender issues as well as parenting in general. The production quality is also top-notch, making it an enjoyable listening experience.

While there aren't many negative aspects to this podcast, one small criticism would be that I wish there were more episodes available. The stories shared are so powerful and valuable, it would be wonderful to hear from them more frequently. However, I understand that the process of creating each episode takes time and effort.

In conclusion, The How to Be a Girl podcast is an incredible resource for anyone looking to understand transgender issues better or become a more vocal trans ally. It has changed the way I think about transgender completely and has made me feel less ignorant about these important topics. I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen – you won't be disappointed.
