My name is Silje Schevig and I am a clinical psychologist from Norway. In my podcast “Snakk med Silje», in English “Talk with Silje”. Dr. Erica Anderson is my first international guest. In this episode we are discussing the harms of puberty blockers and cross sex hormones. We also discuss how the society can influence more children to believe they are transgender and harm safe spaces for women. We also problematize how trans activism can also harm the patient safety and why there is an increase in girls with gender dysphoria.I am myself critical about gender affirming care to children and adolescents, especially medically transitioning children through puberty blockers. I think we do more harm than good in how we deal with this issue today. I met Dr. Anderson at an international conference addressing gender affirming care to children and adolescents.Dr. Anderson is a clinical psychologist and consultant helping gender incongruent young people and their families. In her TV career in Sweden, Erica broke barriers as the first openly trans character on prime-time TV in the series "Alt for Sverige", which led to her being nominated for two GayGala awards, she also won the award for transgender person of the year. She has previously been president of USPATH, which is the US Professional Association for Transgender Health and a board member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, as well as president of the Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society and chair of Joan's House Shelter. Erica also has a master's degree in theology. ► DONATIONSInternational bank transfer:BIC: DNBANOKKXXXIBAN-acount numder: NO9015068887892Bank address:DNB Bank ASAPostboks 1600 Sentrum0021 OsloNorwayWise-donation links:10 Euro:https://wise.com/pay/r/md4alclVxiRcM0E 20 Euro:https://wise.com/pay/r/pPHY8hm4QyBtX9U 50 Euro:https://wise.com/pay/r/PAfwTGpHxpvcZE4 100 Euro:https://wise.com/pay/r/H2CTSRoVZsQ0nEs 10 USD:https://wise.com/pay/r/ylBE3Zlr1G2RwHE 20 USD:https://wise.com/pay/r/eq5HkKCbyqYjJN8 50 USD:https://wise.com/pay/r/qvK_R6g66h6bfIw 100 USD:https://wise.com/pay/r/S_jCHDuABVLchZo Norwegian Vipps-paymens:Søk opp “Snakk med Silje” eller bruk vippsnummer: 806513► CHANELS* Spotify:* YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SnakkMedSilje* Substack: https://open.substack.com/pub/psykologsilje► SOME* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/psykologsilje?igsh=MW84MDE0MWplc2FwbA==* TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@psykologsilje?_t=8oc3HBC1r4z&_r=1* Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/psykologsilje* Twitter: https://x.com/Silje_Schevig* LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/silje-schevig-243750101?utm_source=share&utm_campaign=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=ios_app► CHAPTERS00:00 Teaser01:19 Introduction03:25 “Alt for Sverige”12:24 Dark coffee14:23 Ericas professional career18:43 Ericas transition20:36 Ericas professional career continued23:14 Shift in the population with gender dysphoria29:00 How Erica helps young people with their gender issues35:24 The increase in young girls with gender dysphoria41:41 Why medically “transition” children?49:02 Puberty blockers54:53 We need better research59:50 Are we harming healthy gay children with puberty blockers?01:11:06 How to donate01:12:04 The Cass-report01:20:20 Trans activism and political influence on patient care01:28:55 The WPATH-files and SOC-801:35:40 Mental health comorbidities01:39:45 Complicated cohort01:41:11 Grooming on social media01:43:36 Why the increase in girls with gender dysphoria?01:52:26 Identity development01:59:51 The woke mind-virus02:03:28 Biological males in Women-only spaces02:08:31 They are taking it too far ► REFERENCESThe WPATH-files: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/mar/09/disturbing-leaks-from-us-gender-group-wpath-ring-alarm-bells-in-nhs Tavistock clinic scandal: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-62335665Cass independent review: https://cass.independent-review.uk/home/publications/final-report/Dr. Erica Andersons YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@ericaanderson9294 This is a public episode. In this episode of Finding Common Battle Grounds, Ryan and Tom tackle two topics. First, we start with the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Tom asks Ryan a number of questions related to the attack, from whether he thinks the attack was staged (as some conspiracy theorists have started to argue) to whether this was a massive failing on the part of the Secret Service to whether Donald Trump is divinely protected. Ryan's answers to these three questions were all "No," but there are a number of additional questions. We mostly agree on the responses, though Tom notes at the end of the discussion that he is pretty skeptical about a lot of the information available at this point. We then turn to a recently signed bill in California that makes it so public schools do not have to report to parents the preferred pronouns or gender identities of students. Tom thinks that schools should have to report this while Ryan prioritizes the safety of the children and pushes Tom on the idea that some homes are not safe places for LGBTQ kids. There is actually a fair amount of agreement between the two on this, but this is also an issue where we fundamentally do not agree.

Sometimes as a parent or ally of a transgender person you can end up doing more harm than good when it comes to speaking out because you are running the risk of outing that person. And that's why the guest in this episode is keeping their identity private, to protect the privacy and safety of her transgender child. But that doesn't stop the conversation covering topics from the importance of grassroots activism and personal connections, what it means to be an ally, the struggles parents face when it comes to medical options for their children and having to adjust your dreams for your children's future. Josephine and her guest also discuss how their own societal prejudices were an issue when their children first came out, but through reaching out to the community and learning they are overcoming this. Navigating the journey of parenting transgender children can be challenging, but it is also a transformative experience that leads to personal growth and advocacy. In this episode of the Moms for Trans Kids podcast, Dr. Lulu, Kim, and Vickie discuss their experiences as parents of transgender children and the importance of supporting and affirming gender diverse kids. They also touch on the challenges faced by transgender individuals in accessing healthcare and the need for more research and education in this area. The hosts emphasize the importance of inclusion and acceptance and share their personal journeys as advocates for transgender rights. Parents of transgender children face unique challenges and need support and resources to navigate their child's gender journey. Healthcare providers should be educated and trained to provide gender-affirming care to transgender individuals. Inclusion and acceptance are crucial for creating a safe and supportive environment for gender diverse kids. More research and funding are needed to improve healthcare outcomes for transgender individuals. Parents should advocate for their child's needs and seek out affirming healthcare providers. For us, unschooling is about so much more than learning or who gets to decide what it is and how and when it unfolds. It's about dismantling the power structures that keep all of us less than who we are or have the potential to be. And this starts with looking at our own limiting thoughts and beliefs. In this episode of Radical Learning Talks we chat Orion, a healing companion and trans man who helps us dive into the topic of being transgender. How can you support a trans kid? How do you work through your own discomfort and fears to be present and fully show up for them in their growth, learning and discovery? This is for all of us who have or know kids that identify as non binary and/or trans and want to better understand how to support them in their journey.
Hannah Barnes (BBC journalist; exposed the “Tavistock Clinic” scandal) has become the somewhat reluctant global voice on the raging child transgender debate. In her award-winning BBC investigation, and in her new book, Time To Think: The Inside Story of the Collapse of the Tavistock's Gender Service for Children, she investigates how the UK Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) at Tavistock Clinic in London referred more than 1200 kids, some as young 9 years old for treatment to block puberty, largely in the absence of data and research about its safety and efficacy. Her research highlighted a whole range of complex issues about the well-being of teens, trans people and our culture broadly. In this chat, Hannah and I cover how 35 per cent of gender dysphoric teens are autistic, the massive uptick in kids identifying as trans worldwide (one study reports a 1000% increase in young people identifying as trans or nonbinary), and the important reasons why there are suddenly way more girls than boys wanting to transition.SHOW NOTESGet hold of Hannah's book Time To Think: The Inside Story of the Collapse of the Tavistock's Gender Service for ChildrenThe Australian situation regarding the age of consent is outlined hereAnd here's the information showing the number of teen girls coming out as transI mention Jess Singal's work on the subject. President Joe Biden's poll numbers one year out from the 2024 election have largely been underwhelming, and Democrats' chances of holding on to the White House may come down to two voting blocs they have seriously relied upon in recent history. President Joe Biden made a bizarre, confusing joke during the annual turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House on Monday, seemingly referencing Taylor Swift's sweltering concert in Brazil, which tragically resulted in the death of one fan, but also mentioning Beyoncé's tour and Britney Spears as well. Governor Andy Beshear (D-KY) said Monday on MSNBC's “Inside ” that Republicans should stop scapegoating transgender kids as a political issue because it was “gross.” Swimmer Meghan Cortez-Fields, a man living as a woman, broke several records after switching from the men's team over to the women's team at Ramapo College of New Jersey. The Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah reportedly caused “heavy damage” to an Israeli military base on Monday after it launched a rocket and drone attack at the army base. Israel and Hamas are closer to an agreement to release dozens of hostages held in Gaza than they have been since the hostages were kidnapped during the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. Former President Donald Trump released a doctor's note touting a clean bill of health as President Joe Biden celebrated his 81st birthday on Monday amid concerns about his age and fitness.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode, Erin Maye Quade is joined by Christina Sambor and Brittany Stewart. The discussion centers on Gender Justice's expanded work into North Dakota and South Dakota, a region often used as testing grounds for right-wing movements. Gender Justice is challenging discriminatory laws, promoting LGBTQ rights, and reproductive rights, and bolstering legal capacity. Christina Sambor gives an in-depth overview of North Dakota's current gender justice landscape. Notably, the state's recent legislation targeting transgender rights has sparked significant concern. Bills, such as HB 1254, prohibit gender-affirming care for minors, restricting treatments such as puberty blockers and potentially subjecting medical professionals to legal consequences. Brittany Stewart underscores this legislative push against trans rights as a façade of child protection, rooted in deep-seated bias against the trans community. ### Visit the "Gender Justice" Website here and "Unrestrict Minnesota" here. One of the most prominent culture war issues of our time is also one of the most dangerous...for kids. Transgender health care and rights are front and center in our political debate and, recently, conservatives have moved to focus on trans kids. We look at where Americans land in this discussion and dig into how schools are - and aren't - helping the children they're supposed to be educating and protecting.Next, almost no one argues America faces a housing crisis. There are simply too many people unable to find affordable homes to rent or buy. One problem is many Americans support programs to add housing but reject programs to do so in their own neighborhoods. We explore why that's probably more than just a case of NIMBYism. Finally, a fun fact that addresses the most important part of your day… the meal you can't go without!

Teenage activist Chloe Cole was born biologically female, transitioned to male and then detransitioned back to female. She is now taking on a medical establishment she feels is far too eager to operate on the bodies of young people. Since being profiled in The Post this June, Cole has become famous for her activism fighting against the medicalization of transgender children. She recently spoke at the End Child Mutilation Rally in Nashville and testified against legislation that would make California a sanctuary state for kids from other states seeking medical transition. As the transgender movement gains momentum in our society, what do you need to know? Rick Brown shares a powerful message on "The Christian World View Regarding Gender," where "former trans kid" Chloe Cole shares her impactful story, followed by a Q & A. Don't miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. Rick Brown opens up about his oldest brother, Randy, who was trans, wore makeup, curled his hair, joined the homosexual movement, and contracted HIV/AIDS. Rick and his family went through the journey with his brother. He said all people are worthy of kindness, decency, and respect. Disagreeing with someone's behavior or lifestyle is not bigoted, hate speech, homophobic, or transphobic. A hospital provided a double mastectomy to Chloe Cole, a young woman who was fast-tracked through a sex transition from ages thirteen to fifteen. Chloe explained that, at such a young age, she should have never been allowed to consent to a medical decision that would affect her for the rest of her life. "I wanted this part of my body gone, and now it is," she said. "And it will be that way for the rest of my life, because I was allowed to make an adult decision as a 15-year-old." The 18-year-old, formerly identified as transgender, Chloe Cole, urged the importance of protecting children from these procedures. “This whole process of transitioning kids while they're still developing … people are going to wake up and realize that it's wrong, and it's happening all over, and it needs to stop,” she said. “I really think it's inevitable.” God's Creation Design Genesis 1:27–28 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them,"Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it." Jesus Confirms This Design Matthew 19:4–6 4 ... "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." David Celebrates This! Psalm 139:13–15 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret. Mr. Scott Newgent is a forty-nine-year-old transgender man and parent to three teenagers. Before transitioning, Scott was known as Kellie King, a dynamic, powerful advertising executive, who acquired countless honors, awards, and accolades. At age 42, Kellie made an ill-fated decision that would turn her world upside down. She transitioned to a transman, to become Scott Newgent. Scott endured medical complications after medical complications due to a lower-than-average transgender healthcare system. Which alarmed him from the beginning of this journey. As Scott began to recover from several near-death experiences, he devoted himself to researching all materials relating to the transgender healthcare system. What Scott discovered infuriated him! Not only was the international transgender healthcare system(s) sub-par but that those working closely within those systems were urgently pressing children (and their families) to transition medically. To his dismay those medical organizations & physicians are hardly ever held to account when medical/psychological issues arise. The concern and outrage propelled Scott to become one of the fastest-rising international transgender leaders of today. He founded TRevoices - TRans Rational Educational Voices - which advances the viewpoint that all involved in the transgender movement, including but not limited to, medical professionals, should always Speak the Truth, Acknowledge Reality, and Support/Advocate/Care for ALL who are affected by Transgenderism. Through this experience, trauma & educational journey, Scott has stated that he would not have transitioned but does accept the decisions he has made! We discuss the seeming contradiction of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's directive to consider medical services to trans kids as abuse, and the Washington State Supreme Court's ruling that sets heightened expectations around relatives in the child welfare system. Ian Forber-Pratt, the director of Global Advocacy & Growth for Children's Emergency Relief International, joins to discuss his long, international path through child welfare. Forber-Pratt was adopted from his home country of India, grew up in Missouri and has since worked on child welfare reform in both nations. We talked about his childhood, his effort to create a foster care system in India (which previously saw abuse/neglect handled informally in the community or with big orphanages and institutions), and kinship care in America.
