Should economic growth come at the cost of a sustainable and ancient way of life? Shakthi is joined by actor Radhika Mudaliyar. NLS annotation Anne Boleyn & Elizabeth I: the mother and daughter who changed history DB124509 Author: Borman, Tracy Reading Time: 8 hours, 53 minutes Read by: Tracy Borman Subjects: World History and Affairs, Biography of Heads of State and Political Figures, Women “One of the most extraordinary mother and daughter stories of all time – Anne Boleyn, the most famous of Henry VIII’s wives and her daughter Elizabeth, the ‘Virgin Queen’. Anne Boleyn is a subject of enduring fascination. By far the most famous of Henry VIII’s six wives, she has inspired books, documentaries and films, and is the subject of intense debate even today, almost 500 years after her violent death. For the most part, she is considered in the context of her relationship with Tudor England’s much-married monarch. Dramatic though this story is, of even greater interest – and significance – is the relationship between Anne and her daughter, the future Elizabeth I. Elizabeth was less than three years old when her mother was executed. Given that she could have held precious few memories of Anne, it is often assumed that her mother exerted little influence over her. But this is both inaccurate and misleading. Elizabeth knew that she had to be discreet about Anne, but there is compelling evidence that her mother exerted a profound influence on her character, beliefs and reign. Even during Henry’s lifetime, Elizabeth dared to express her sympathy for her late mother by secretly wearing Anne’s famous ‘A’ pendant when she sat for a painting with her father and siblings. Piecing together evidence from original documents and artefacts, this book tells the story of Anne Boleyn’s relationship with, and influence over her daughter Elizabeth. In so doing, it sheds new light on two of the most famous and influential women in history.”– From publisher. Unrated. Commercial audiobook. London : Audible Studios, 2023. JTelecommunications, or "JTel" has been in business for nearly 30 years. We had the pleasure of hosting two of the partners in the company, who happen to be family members. Mother and daughter team, Jody and Paige Weinberg joined us for this episode of Poised for Exit. We talked about how they are working toward Paige taking over the business in the future, and how Jody is delegating some of her work to her daughter, who's been with the business for 9 years. Paige acknowledged she has a lot to learn, but Jody says that Paige has come a long way since she first started. Jody also acknowledged that she is having a hard time letting go, and likely will 'work' for many years to come, even if she's not leading the charge. Her plans are not uncommon among other owners and founders, regardless of company size. As entrepreneurs, we tend to feed on the energy that growing and running a business provides. They shared how much they both love the work they do, and it's evident by how loyal their clients are and by how much their work of setting up meetings for professional leaders impacts their client's companies. To be clear, JTel is not a telemarketing firm, but acts as a right-hand person for C-Level leaders who need help setting up prospect meetings. JTel has become an expert at setting up "meetings you want". Send us a textAs your child turns from a tween to a teen it's obvious to everyone that their body and mind are undergoing massive changes. It's destablising for our kids and can be very uncomfortable for us parents watching as the changes take place. Some of our discomfort can come from our own fears about how to guide them through the changes and what sort of person will come out the other side of the transformation. Some of it will be down to our own memories of the problems we faced when we hit puberty and some of the biggest difficulties can stem from our own unresolved body issues and the different attitudes to body image when we were growing up. It's a messy, imperfect, process so we thought it might help listeners to hear Phoebe and I talk about our own experience as a way to help you unpick the process for yourself. For those of us in recovery, the relationships we have with our parents can be complicated. Especially if the parent was absent or if they had a lot of trauma. Today I am honored to share a conversation with Caroline Beidler and her mother Diana Dallas. They wrote a book together called “You are not your trauma: Uproot Unhealthy Patterns, Heal The Family Tree”. It will help you identify unhealthy patterns that keep you stuck and live more freely without your trauma--or your family's trauma--holding you back. For me, this was such a powerful conversation. I was on the verge of tears multiple times. Their openness and vulnerability with each other really touched my heart. And the book is amazing! It's part memoir, part science, and part workbook. It covers topics that include codependency, perfectionism, people pleasing and burnout to name a few. Anyway, I'm really excited to share this conversation with you, so without further delay, please enjoy this episode Caroline and Diana. Subscribe So You Don't Miss New Episodes! In 1984, Margaret Tapp and her nine-year-old daughter Seana were found dead in their beds, still in their nightgowns. The killer surely strangled Margaret first. It's inconceivable she would not have fought to save her little girl. 9-year-old Seana died the same way, except she was raped first. Journalist and author of Life & Crimes, Andrew Rule covered the story when it first broke in the 1980s and now years later, he's adamant that reporters and police sometimes get it wrong - including him. Teenage pregnancy and adopting out is an emotional and heart-wrenching experience for all involved. But when Kiara Williamson found herself as a pregnant teenager in 2017, her experience was much different than what her mother, Heather Andrews, had experienced two decades before. In this second part of a two-part series, Kiara shares her own pregnancy and adoption story. And unlike her mother, Kiara had the support of family, friends, and her then-boyfriend. She was even able to place her baby girl in an open adoption and continue to be an integral part of her child's life! Empowered by her journey, Kiara is helping others find their “Birth Mom Tribe” at TikTok, Instagram, and on Facebook. The juxtaposition between these two stories highlights the importance of nonjudgmental support, the danger of cultural shame, the power of communication, and the importance of tapping into your own personal power. Even though we live in challenging times, we can become 'Relentlessly Resilient' as we lean on and learn from one another’s experiences. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Scharf are no strangers to overcoming adversity; Michelle lost her husband to cancer, while Jennie’s husband, Major Brent Taylor, was killed in the service of our country. Teenage pregnancy and adopting out is an emotional and heart-wrenching experience for all involved. When, in 1996, Heather Andrews found herself pregnant at 18 years old without her family and the baby’s father's support, she faced a systematic culture of shame, guilt, and abandonment. In this first of a two-part series, Heather shares the story of her first traumatic pregnancy, which ended with her adopting out her firstborn son in a closed adoption. In our second-part episode, we will then hear a similar story two decades later in 2017, when Heather’s daughter Kiara Williamson, as a pregnant teenager herself, adopted her daughter out in a much more supportive story with an open adoption. Kiara, empowered by her journey, is helping others find their “Birth Mom Tribe” at TikTok, Instagram, and on Facebook. The juxtaposition between these two stories highlights the importance of nonjudgmental support, the danger of cultural shame, the power of communication, and the importance of tapping into your own personal power. The man, Monte Henderson was then released on Bond by another one of these soft on crime type prosecutors after he posted a bond for 20 k. The family of the victims and the community as a whole is not having it though and they are demanding answers and more importantly, justice.(commercial at 12:11)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:St Louis judge who let Drake concert killer go free on $20k bond previously let drugged-up mother go on probation over death of her six-year-old and was cherry picked by disgraced Soros-backed former prosecutor | Daily Mail OnlineBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
