Sometimes things, big things, happen in life that stand in the way of getting things done. Other times, everything just converges and creates the perfect storm. The first reason is why this episode is being published literally a week late. But the second was the point of our whole discussion. Milan have faced a perfect storm this season, and we needed some good luck, as well. To that end, last week, I invited Frankie to talk about everything that has contributed to Milan's bizarre form this season. The good news that one week later, we can see that his good luck is already working... Milan beat Giampaolo's Torino twice in four days, but behind all of the winning, there is a lot of concern about Milan's finances. Joining me from Denmark again was Søren, and we talked about all of the amazing and frightening things happening on and off of the pitch at Milan right now. On this Episode: • News and transfers • Quote of the Week • Milan-Torino • Coppa Italia • Milan finances (thanks to @SwissRamble) • The Boban case Thank you again to the fantastic Søren for the great conversation about all things Milan, good and bad. Despite a stinging defeat to Juventus to end our unbeaten streak, joining me from the Pacific Northwest here in the United States, Pierluca courageously joined me post match to discuss all things Milan. Most of which is still really amazing, considering we remained at the top of the table despite ending our 27 game unbeaten streak. An epic matchup like Milan-Juventus deserves an epic podcast preview, so I turned to my Milan and Juve friends, Rui and Joe from The Red Card Report Podcast. Not only was Joe the very first Juventino ever on the Milan Obsession Podcast, he bravely faced questions about the latest Juve-Napoli ruling, Pirlo, the Champions League, the referees, and more. We also gave Inter a bit of hate, because after all, it is the hatred of Inter that brings Milan and Juventus fans together. On this episode: why would anyone support Juve? • recent controversy • coaches: Pirlo vs. Pioli • recent form • injury update • referees • rapid-fire predictions Thank you so much to both Joe and Rui for a sometimes funny, sometimes serious, and always epic preview of the upcoming match. As things are improving so quickly at the club, we often speak of the glory days of Milan. But my guest this time not only lived through some of the best of those years, he worked on a television show in England that covered Serie A for ten years on Channel 4. Now he's written a book, Golazzo: The Football Italia Years, which covers the amazing football from those years chronologically. Jonathan Grade was kind enough to join me and reminisce about the Golden Age of Serie A. On this episode: Football Italia & Gazetta shows Milan’s Glory Years Scandals & Shame Bits & Pieces The Impact of Football Italia Book Teasers Thank you again to Jonathan Grade for a fantastic conversation and for his years dedicated to sharing Serie A, and now the brilliant book.
