Restored is a Church in the city of Wichita with a focus on RESTORATION! These messages are from the Restored Community Church weekend services. A people with a passion to bring restoration through Jesus to our city and the nations!
How can we, as the people of God, overcome sexual abuse and help others do the same? The prevalence of abuse in our world is overwhelming and staggering. We need to heal from this trauma, and the Church must step into the aftermath of sexual abuse to help set the captives free. There is healing, freedom, and victory over sexual abuse that can only be found in Jesus. Pastor Rob Danz shares part of his family's journey through sexual abuse and conveys a message on how the people of God can rise above the horrors of such experiences. This is the conclusion of Antioch Wichita's Kingdom Sexuality sermon series.
What does the Bible say about sexuality and singleness? Over 100 million people in the United States are single. Unfortunately, statistics show that many singles, both inside and outside the church, are not living in accordance with God's design for sexual intimacy. What is Jesus calling singles to, and does He want everyone to marry? This week, Pastor Rob Danz will discuss how the church can support and uplift singles to live for the Kingdom of God.
We had the great honor of having our dear friend, Pastor Jamaal Watson, back again and sharing the word of God. This week's sermon was titled "Anchored in Jesus," based on the text from Psalms 18:1-49 that calls us to become and to remain anchored in Jesus.
Focusing on God's magnificent and glorious names helps us to honor Him. By understanding these names, we can, with the guidance of His Spirit, live in a way that reflects His greatness. This is especially important in our world, which desperately needs to witness a supernatural vision of the invisible God through the visible lives of His children. Family Ministry Pastor Jimmy Hutson taught on the names of God.
What does the Bible say about sex in marriage? God's design for humanity is inherently sexual and fulfilling when we embrace it according to His intentions. This week, Pastor Rob discusses God's plan for sex in marriage, including how we should approach it, express gratitude for it, common misconceptions to avoid, and how serious He is about the marriage covenant.
Easter serves as the ultimate proof that Jesus always fulfills His promises. His death, burial, and resurrection demonstrate God's faithfulness to His people. While individuals in our lives may disappoint us or abandon us at times, Jesus never has and never will. Pastor Rob Danz shared this message titled "Just Like He Said," based on Matthew 16.
We were honored to have special guest Pastor Jamaal Watson with us this Palm Sunday, who delivered a message titled "SOS Hosanna" from God's Word.
Family ministry pastor Jimmy Hutson preached a sermon titled "Follow the Light" that walks through what it tangibly looks like to die to self and follow Jesus, from Mark 8:34-37.
Lust and pornography are a significant problem within the church, and they break the heart of God and cause damage in our lives. First and foremost, lust is a spiritual defilement that starts in the heart and mind, and porn is an unholy fuel for the fire of lust. However, there is freedom from the bondage of both porn and lust that's found only in Jesus. We must become far more serious about our battles with it and putting it to death.
What is the church's response to the LGBTQ community? This week, we explored how followers of Jesus should engage people living alternative lifestyles in a way that honors Jesus, shows His love, and communicates His truth so people can be set free. We don't judge the world for their sin; we see their need for a savior and respond. #jesus #freedom #sexuality
What is God's heart and purpose for our gender and gender identity? This week, we looked into sex, gender, gender dysphoria, and transgenderism, and why this topic has become so prevalent in the world we live in. Pastor Rob Danz led us through the Word of God to help us find God's purposes in how He has made us and how we should see ourselves biblically, not through our broken lens of feelings and emotions. Our gender is not assigned at birth; it was designed before time began and knit together with divine purpose in our mother's womb by the very hands of God.
Part 4 of Kingdom Sexuality continues discussing homosexuality by addressing many questions that people have about this lifestyle. Some of the topics Pastor Rob covers in this sermon include: Can someone be gay and still be saved? What is the difference between struggling with a broken sexuality and being openly defiant about it? How is my sin different from yours? Is it possible to change? These questions and more are explored in this week's sermon.
What does the Bible say about homosexuality, and why is this important for us? When addressing complex topics like sexuality, followers of Jesus should turn to the Word of God to understand His perspective on life and how we should respond. This week, Pastor Rob Danz delivered part three of our Kingdom Sexuality sermon series, focusing on what God has to say about homosexuality.
How can we find clarity and victory in our sexuality? Through Jesus, it is possible to be genuinely free from the trauma of broken sexuality, confusion, worldly influences, and uncontrollable lust. Pastor Rob Danz introduces "The Freedom Road," a resource designed to guide us through these challenging discussions and help us achieve freedom, if we desire it.
This week, we launched our new sermon series "Kingdom Sexuality." In this series, we will explore what the Bible says about sexuality and discuss important topics such as homosexuality, gender, lust, singleness, and sex in marriage. Part 1, "It All Starts with Jesus," presents us with two critical questions: 1) Is it possible that my understanding of sexuality does not align with the heart and commands of Jesus? 2) If so, am I willing to lay aside my views and pursue what He desires for my life?
Elder Rick Meeks delivered a powerful message based on Romans 8, titled "Life in the Spirit." He emphasized that God accomplished what the law could not, and now, through life in the Spirit, Christ lives within us. We are free from the deeds of our sinful nature, able to call Him Abba, and empowered to live through the gifts He has given us.
This week, we concluded our 2025 Vision Sunday with "Where We Are Going." Pastor Rob outlined some of the vision for us as a global movement of churches, sharing the Antioch Wichita heart for this year and introducing our 2030 Vision for the next five years.
As a church family with a rich history of God's power and movement, we find ourselves at a crossroads, and it's time to recommit once again. Pastor Rob Danz discusses Antioch Wichita's original calling, our history, and a compelling invitation to fully engage and dream again. Part 1 of our 2025 Vision Sunday was titled "Who We Are, Where We Have Been, and a Crossroads."
Pastor Jimmy Hutson discusses how we can walk purposefully and set roles and goals for this new year to grow in faithfulness and obedience. Setting simple goals and working with the Lord to accomplish them will help us grow personally and spiritually.
When Jesus arrives in a manger, He completely interrupts the lives of all who encounter Him. Just as we see in the lives of Mary and Joseph, our response to Christ's presence should inspire trust, obedience, and worship. We gladly receive this holy interruption to our plans because of who He is and all He has done for us. Pastor Rob Danz concludes our Advent 2024 series with part 3, "A Response to Divine Interruption."
A significant aspect of Advent is anticipation, which inherently involves waiting. Waiting can be one of the most valuable opportunities for us to learn about godliness, maturity, and faith. Learning to wait on the Lord is essential for growth as a disciple of Jesus. The Kingdom of God is not only worth the wait, but there is also great value in the waiting itself. Part 2 of our Advent 2024 Sermon Series was titled "Waiting for Something."
We live in a unique time in history, where many of God's promises have come alive because of Jesus's birth, ministry, death, burial, and resurrection. At the same time, the brokenness of the world and man continues to plague the earth. What we long for in that tension between the "already and not yet Kingdom" will dictate the victory and direction of our lives. Pastor Rob Danz starts our Advent 2024 sermon series with Part 1: Longing Through the Tension, out of Luke 21:25-36.
Family ministry pastor Jimmy Hutson launches us towards Christmas with our first sermon for the 2024 Advent season. We can put our faith and trust in God. He has already shown us we can trust Him by sending Jesus. We can trust that what He said in his word and what He promised us will come true in His timing, His way, and grace.
The parable of the prodigal son is a powerful story that gives us a snapshot of the Kingdom of God. Because of the Lord's love, He will let us go in our rebellion, allowing us to reach the bottom of our lives so we might be humbled and return home as sons and daughters who want to be close to the Father. His eyes are on the road, waiting to welcome us back home regardless of what we have done and where we have been. Pastor Rob Danz taught part 7 of our Kingdom Narratives series on the parables of Jesus.
Special Guest speaker Sam McVay from Disciple Nations preached "Keys to Endurance." Based on text from the book of Hebrews, this powerful message encourages us to fuel our hearts so that we may endure well when times of suffering come.
What do you do when life unexpectedly takes a turn? How can we respond when God's timing differs from our own? Elder in Training Jonathan Workman shares a powerful message about how the Lord guided him through a challenging situation after he lost his job and had to wait for new opportunities to arise. This message is inspired by James 1:2-4.
Good Samaritans do not go to heaven, only the broken who have been rescued and redeemed by Jesus. This week, we explore the parable of the Good Samaritan found in Luke 10:25-37, where Jesus challenges the heart of a Jewish lawyer. Pastor Rob Danz continues our Kingdom Narratives sermon series with Part 6: Fallen Among Robbers.
Each one of us has been blessed with incredible gifts, relationships, and resources to honor the Lord. One day, we will be held accountable for how we used them. This week, Pastor Rob Danz continued our sermon series "Kingdom Narratives" with Part 4: A Hidden Talent, which explores the parable of the talents from Matthew 25:14-30.
In the scriptures, there is a warning that many who believe they are saved may not be. In the parable of the 10 virgins, Jesus emphasizes that simply going through the motions of Christianity will not grant us entry into the eternal Kingdom of God unless our actions are motivated by genuine salvation, demonstrated by the presence of the Holy Spirit, living in anticipation of His return. Pastor Rob Danz teaches from Matthew 25:1-13.
Family Ministry Pastor Jimmy Hutson preached "Running to Win" based on 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. Our lives are not our own; they have been bought with a price, and we are meant to run in the presence of God.
Pastor Jamaal Watson was the special guest speaker this week. The sermon was on Psalm 46, which proclaims that the Lord is present, calling us to be present, to come close to Him, and to others.
What we value the most will always direct and define our lives. In Matthew 13:44-46, Jesus tells a powerful story to show us what His kingdom is like. The story reveals the overwhelming worth of the Kingdom of Heaven. When we see it for its worth, we can joyfully let go of all the things in this world. Pastor Rob continues our Kingdom Narratives sermon series with part 3: Treasure. As we study the parables of Jesus, we challenge ourselves to three things: * Look Upward: What does the parable teach us about the Lord and His Kingdom? * Look Inward: What does it reveal about us? * Respond Forward: How can we respond in obedience?
How big of a deal is forgiveness to Jesus? Unforgiveness in our hearts can be a significant red flag that indicates we are not walking in the fullness of our forgiveness from Jesus or that we never really knew it. This week, Pastor Rob led us through the parable of the unforgiving servant found in Matthew 18:23-35. God's forgiveness is so immense that it demands the complete eradication of all unforgiveness from the hearts of those who have received it. As we study the parables of Jesus, we challenge ourselves to three things: * Look Upward: What does the parable teach us about the Lord and His Kingdom? * Look Inward: What does it reveal about us? * Respond Forward: How can we respond in obedience?
Our new series, titled "Kingdom Narratives," walks through the amazing stories of Jesus given to us in parables. Jesus spoke in parables to provide us with snapshots of everyday life that illustrate the truths about God's kingdom. Week 1 was based on Matthew 7:24-27 and the parable of the man who builds his house on the rock. Building our house on the rock of Christ is based on obedience to Jesus and His Kingdom. As we study the parables of Jesus, we challenge ourselves to three things: * Look Upward: What does the parable teach us about the Lord and His Kingdom? * Look Inward: What does it reveal about us? * Respond Forward: How can we respond in obedience?
We need to watch our hearts and motives! It's possible to serve with great zeal, be theologically sound, tell others about the love of Jesus, persevere through horrible things, and at the same time, no longer be overwhelmed by or for Jesus. This week, we walked through Revelation chapter 2, which shows a letter Jesus gave to His church in Ephesus through the apostle John. The church was doing a lot of faithful things in endurance and keeping doctrinally sound, but Jesus had an issue with them for one very important thing: they had forsaken their first love, and they had walked away from Him. The "why" we do things is more important than the "what."
There is an anthem that should be on the heart of every follower of Jesus: Lord, break my heart for what breaks yours. Do we anguish over the things that break the heart of God, or have we become too numb to the brokenness of our sin, relationships, churches, ministries, and this perishing world? This week, we look into the life of Nehemiah and see how a man can change the world when he is fueled by a heart of anguish that leads to prayer, repentance, and a response to broken things.
The fuel and fire for a Kingdom Come life has everything to do with our proximity to and dependency on Jesus. It's not about how great and gifted we are or about the big things we've done; it's about who we are with and how we follow Him where He is leading. Pastor Rob Danz walks through Psalms 27:4 as David longs to dwell in the presence of the Lord at all times.
We must be careful with our opinions; they can cause damage if we do not baptize them in the truth of God's Word and desires. What He thinks, wants, and says should be the only thing that guides our lives. Pastor Rob Danz takes a deeper dive into our opinions and asks, "Where have our views about people and situations outweighed what God's truth says about them?"
What is God doing when He seems to say no to our requests for miraculous intervention in hard situations? How should we respond? There are miracles working in the midst of Gods "no". Pastor Rob walks us through two powerful stories in the scriptures about Paul (2 Corinthians 12:7-10), and Jesus (Matthew 26:36-44). There are times when God intervenes through miraculous power, and there are times when the miracle is that we simply made it through.
Jesus is miraculous! In part 4 of our Miraculous sermon series, we walk through Mark 5:35-43 where Jesus brings a little girl back to life. In this powerful text we see the power of God, while Jesus calls us to deal with our fear and "only believe" in Him during seemingly impossible trials in our lives. We cannot go through seasons of brokenness and despair Gods way if we won't deal with our fear in every circumstance.
Our dear friend Pastor Darnell Bryant brought a powerful word out of Isaiah 30:1-22 titled "It's a Trap". Trusting the ways of man verses trusting the Lord is a growing journey we are all on. We can avoid the pitfalls of trusting worldly things that leave us broken and frustrated and instead trust the Lord from the very beginning of every circumstance.
Family Ministry Pastor Jimmy Hutson's message this week was titled "Love Points the Way" out of 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.
We had the great honor to have Dr. Don Davis (World Impact Senior Executive Advisor to the President) with us this week to teach the Word of God. The title of the sermon was "Contend for the Faith Once Delivered to the Saints" - Jude 3-4. As defenders of the Gospel of Jesus, we are to contend for the faith that has once been delivered to the saints.
Heartbreak and suffering throughout our lives can become a great gift when our desperation leads us to the feet of the only one that can bring relief and healing, Jesus Christ. This week we came upon the story of a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years and was desperate for healing. She finds it and the even greater gift of becoming a child of God when she encounters Jesus. Pastor Rob Danz continues our sermon series titled "Miraculous" with part 3: Who Touched My Garments? || Mark 5:21-34
How did Jesus respond to the demonic? Are demons still around us today? How are we supposed to react to demons and the devil? Pastor Rob Danz taught from Mark 5:1-20 on the amazing story of how Jesus powerfully healed a man that was possessed by many demons. This account testifies to the miraculous power of Jesus, the freedom and power we have in Him, and that no one is too far gone from the arms of Christ.
Part 1 of our new series "Miraculous" was titled "He Calms the Storms", based on Mark 4:35-41. The miracles of Jesus should speak loudly to us today because they glorify the Lord, they prove that He was God and the Messiah, they show His compassion for His people, and they are a sign of the redemption of the past and a foretaste of what is to come. Jesus is still doing miracles all around us. This week we looked at the text where Jesus miraculously calmed a storm that His disciples' thought was going to destroy them. Jesus is with us in all the storms we encounter, and we make it through because He is with us and because of our destiny in Him.
The Bible calls us to be all-in for Christ and Kingdom, there is no other option. The question that we should all be asking is "what truly motivates me" in that calling. Only the overwhelming love of God and the "newness" we have in Him can lead us to lay it all down and become radical followers of Jesus. Pastor Rob Danz teaches on 2 Corinthians 5:14-17.
Pastor Rob Danz preached a sermon titled "Along Came Poly" that walks through some of his recent struggles, and shares what we all can do when we go through very difficult seasons that don't seem to stop. A weak gospel and a bad theology of suffering will absolutely crush us in the storms of life, but if we can walk in the truth, we can overcome, not quit, and glorify Jesus in whatever comes our way.
Jennifer Danz brought an encouraging word for Mother's Day on prayer. Snapshots of a Prayer Warrior walks through some great and applicable points to help us as parents and followers of Jesus to engage in prayer in powerful ways.
Elder Rick Meeks brought a powerful word on Time and how crucial it is that we live out the great commission and share the Gospel now because time is short.
Elder in Training Jonathan Workman shared a powerful word this week based out of John 15:1-17, titled Abide. Often times the promptings of the Holy Spirit in us are rooted in His desire to abide with us. He wants us to be close with Him.
