Before moving into Acts 8, we need to discuss the figure mentioned in both Acts 7:58 and 8:1, Saul of Tarsus. Who was this man, and why was he so bent on binding and even killing followers of Yeshua?
What if you could choose exactly which days you work, which clients you see, and even when you're home for your kids after school? Today's guest did exactly that.I'm thrilled to introduce you to Heidi Miller, a speech-language pathologist and the founder of HMS & Associates in New Jersey. Heidi has built a boutique, multi-location private practice known for its highly specialized, relationship-driven care with clinics in Florham Park, Park Ridge, and most recently Oakland. But here's what makes her story so different: She didn't start with a grand vision of multiple clinics. She started with a clear vision of three days a week. With over 25 years of experience, Heidi has worked across a range of clinical settings before opening her first in-person clinic 15 years ago. Today, her practice focuses on pediatric feeding disorders, ARFID, apraxia, and myofunctional therapy with an emphasis on advanced, evidence-based treatment and individualized care. She remains closely involved in mentoring her team and shaping the clinical standards across all three locations, ensuring a consistently high level of care.Outside of patient care, Heidi is passionate about building a private practice model that blends clinical excellence with strong family partnerships — creating a trusted, referral-based brand where children, families, and clinicians can truly thrive. She also creates continuing education courses for other therapists and is a mom to three kids.In Today's Episode, We Discuss:How she slowly and systematically built a niche practice around her actual passionsWhy saying "no" to clients outside your specialty actually grows your reputation fasterHow she opened a second location not by throwing a dart at a map, but by following one family's needThe simple way she retains therapists for years letting them reset their schedules every summer and school yearHeidi's story is proof that you don't have to choose between being a present parent and a successful practice owner. She didn't throw a dart at a map. She followed the need, trusted her skills, and built a practice that fits her life — not someone else's idea of success.Want to build a private practice that gives you freedom without burning out? Ever feel like your stepkids are living in two completely different worlds? The rules change from house to house, expectations don't always match, and somehow everyone expects the kids to make sense of it all. In this episode, I sit down with researcher, professor, stepmom, and former stepchild Bailey Oliver Blackburn, PhD to discuss new research on co-parenting with different values and what happens when children are navigating two households with very different beliefs, expectations, and parenting styles. Bailey shares insights from a recent study exploring how co-parents manage divergent values, the impact on children, and the communication strategies that help families reduce conflict and support kids without forcing them to choose sides. In This Episode, We Cover: • What happens when children are raised across households with different values and beliefs • The surprising challenges families reported beyond politics and religion • How parents can discuss values without putting kids in loyalty binds • Why high-conflict co-parenting and parallel parenting deserve more research If you've ever wondered how to protect your relationship with your stepkids while navigating differences between households, this conversation offers practical insights and plenty of reassurance that you're not alone. The Battle for Mosul in 2017 was a grueling, house-to-house urban war inflicting massive psychological trauma on a new generation of Iraqis. ISIS was revealed as a "melange" of local villagers and international volunteers who alienated the population through extreme brutality. Although the caliphate was militarily defeated, thousands remain radicalized in desert camps, and Mosul's recovery is hindered by systemic corruption and militia control, leading to tragedies like the 2019 ferry disaster. Abdul-Ahad details the brutal ISIS occupation of Mosul, the grueling house-to-house urban warfare used to reclaim the city, and the immense psychological trauma endured. 7.1971

This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! When Beth Stone-Broussard and her family bought their brand-new home, they thought they were building their future—not moving into someone else's past. For thirteen years, they've shared their dream house with a cast of unseen residents: a teenage spirit who lingers in the halls, a little blonde-haired boy with endless curiosity, and a towering shadow man whose presence can freeze the room. It started with small things—footsteps, whispers, the sense of being watched. But soon, the activity became impossible to ignore. Even Beth's once-skeptical husband was forced to face the truth when their home cameras caught something they couldn't explain. Were these spirits already tied to the land, or do they simply follow Beth wherever she goes? Either way, their family has learned to coexist with the unseen, documenting and confronting the strange events that turned their ordinary house into a paranormal epicenter. Today on The Grave Talks, Beth Stone-Broussard and her son Gavin share their story of living among spirits—what they've seen, what they've felt, and how they've come to accept that some homes are never truly empty. 7. Battle for Mosul and Post-War Corruption ISIS with 20,000 foreigners established brutal caliphate but alienated local Sunnis within two months, leading to defeat through house-to-house warfare causing massive PTSD among Iraqi forces and civilians. Post-battle Mosul suffers not from war damage but widespread corruption and militia control over economic sectors and smuggling, with survivors later losing relatives to corruption-caused tragedies like ferry sinkings.

Family Ministry Pastor Jimmy Hutson continued our series, "Rhythms of a First-Love Church," with Part 3: House to House. The cornerstone of Antioch Wichita is our House Churches. While Sunday morning services are important, it is during our weekly house churches that deeper shepherding, community, growth, and mission thrive. This serves as a challenge for us to empower and equip every member of our church to embody what it means to be the church.
This podcast episode with Pastor Peter delves into the "house to house" season, a prophetic encouragement for the church to make diligent room for the Lord's spirit to move. Drawing extensively from David's Tabernacle as a blueprint for Jesus's church, the message outlines seven distinctives that connect us to the New Testament church, including open access into God's presence, ongoing singing and intercession mirroring heaven's throne room, prophetic direction, and the engagement of all nations. Pastor Peter emphasizes that all ministry flows out of ministering to the Lord first, preparing the church to fulfill its calling as a "house of prayer for all nations" (Isaiah 56:7) and implementing the "house of peace" strategy modeled by Jesus (Matthew 10, Luke 10). This strategy centers on prayer and hospitality in homes, acting as gates into communities where the gospel can freely spread, leading to a "quiet revival" where God's presence itself becomes the evangelism strategy. With the local area experiencing massive growth, the church is called to engage this "harvest field", making a personal decision like King David (Psalms 132) to prioritize Jesus, becoming like Him, and making room for Him in every aspect of life.
Join Pastor Peter as he explores the profound call to make room for the Lord's presence in our lives, families, and communities, emphasizing that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Drawing inspiration from a couple married for 63 years who advised to 'keep loving one another and never give up,' Peter highlights the simple yet profound truth that life is about knowing God, obeying Jesus, and seeing His goodness. The sermon, titled 'House to House,' unveils a prophetic season for the church, encouraging believers to become an unshakable house of prayer for all nations, drawing on Mark 16:15 and the Book of Acts for inspiration. Pastor Peter delves into King David's example, illustrating how David, a man after God's own heart, prioritized the Lord's presence by committing to find a dwelling place for the Ark of the Covenant (Psalms 132) and making it his first act as king (1 Chronicles 13). This commitment contrasts sharply with King Saul's neglect and underscores the importance of not treating the Lord's presence casually. The message encourages practical daily prayer, envisioning our homes as places where God's throne is central, and culminates in two invitations: a call to deeper intimacy and rededication, allowing God to take His rightful place in your everyday life, and an invitation to personally know Jesus as Savior and follow Him. Learn how honoring Jesus means allowing Him to work in us both to will and to do what pleases Him (Philippians 3), and that prayer is a privilege that changes history.

Robert Day joined the U.S. Marine Corps just a few months after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Soon he was being transformed into a Marine at Parris Island, and, less than three years later, he would be part of some of the most intense combat of the Iraq War during the Second Battle of Fallujah in November and December 2004. He served as a machine gunner with the 1st Battlion/8th Marines. In this edition of "Veterans Chronicles," Sgt. Day takes on a quiet first deployment to Iraq, into the much more intense training for the second tour in Iraq, and into the gritty details of the urban combat in Fallujah when his platoon returned to the war.Day explains the tactical approach in Fallujah, what it was like firing at the enemy while being fired upon, his role during the house-to-house combat throughout Fallujah, the mindset needed for a relentlessly intense battle that raged for weeks, and how his platoon dealt with the loss of one of its most beloved members. It's a fascinating, detailed, and candid account of some of the toughest fighting of the Iraq War.

Mike Ergo originally joined the U.S. Marine Corps to play his saxophone in the Marine Corps band. But a short time after joining the Corps in 2001, Ergo changed his mind and asked to be transferred to the infantry. Soon, the U.S. was at war in both Afghanistan and Iraq. After an uneventful first deployment to Iraq, Ergo returned in the summer of 2004 with A Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. A few months later, they were engaged in the vicious Second Battle of Fallujah in November and December of 2004.In this edition of "Veterans Chronicles," Ergo describes preparing to fight in Iraq, learning his company would be part of the fight for Fallujah, and what it's like to get the signal that you'e headed into battle.Ergo also tells us about the intial successes of the Marines and how the insurgent resistance quickly fell into place. He also gives us great detail about the house-to-house fighting that characterized so much of the fighting in Fallujah. He also shares the pain of losing close friends at different points in the battle and how resigning himself to the belief that he would be killed was actually freeing for him. Finally, Ergo details how the fighting in Iraq stayed with him for years after the war, how he moved on, and how he is now helping other veterans.
Aaron Cunningham started thinking seriously about military service after watching Operation Desert Storm unfold in 1991, the year he graduated from high school. He began college without being sure of military service. Now, Col. Cunningham is retired after 29 years of service. But the service that he is most proud of is serving as commander of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, which included the Second Battle of Fallujah in November and December 2004.In this edition of "Veterans Chronicles," Col. Cunningham explains the various reasons he chose the Marines, how 9/11 changed the trajectory of his service, and how he trained Alpha Company for combat in Iraq.He explains his responsibility for nearly 200 Marines and what was going through his mind on the eve of the battle. Then, Cunningham walks us through Alpha Company's entrance into the battle, the initial successes, and the enemy resistance which quickly emerged. He also describes the house-to-house fighting, how he decentralized decision-making to platoon, squad, and team leaders, and his calmness under fire. He also describes the devastating losses of Lt. Dan Malcom and Lance Corporal Bradley Faircloth over the course of the battle.Don't miss this powerful story of service as we approach the 20th anniversary of the fight for Fallujah.

An early Christmas gift for the BFWWP community--the battle of Fismes in summer 1918. This was a Patreon release, so you'll hear the old scores used in the episode. Following the German Friedensturm offensive in July 1918, the Allies struck back with a counteroffensive that shifted the momentum of the war in the Allies' favor. Through the rest of July the Germans retreated from their Marne salient, steadily pursued by the French and American forces. When the Germans retreated behind the River Vesle, American troops encountered obstacles not common to the Great War battlefield: the town of Fismes and its sister village of Fismette. Both would have to be cleared of German troops for the advance to continue. August 1918 saw weeks of staggering violence as American Doughboys and German Frontkaempfer fought tooth and nail for the ruins of these towns.
