Tributes have been flowing for the legendary broadcaster John Laws, one of Australia's most influential talkback radio presenters, from former colleagues to politicians who once feared him. West Bengal-based Chuden Kabimo's book ‘Urmaal' was awarded the Madan Puraskar this year. The book is based on the stories and struggles of tea plantation workers. Kabimo, who had previously written ‘Faatsung' based on the Gorkhaland movement, says a book makes its own journey. Experts say caste discrimination and the practice of ‘untouchability' are on the rise in Australia. Footballers in Nepal organised a protest last week after the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) announced it would not hold the ‘A' Division League this year too. They took to social media with a video asking the soccer governing body, "When will the ‘A' Division League take place?" and also hung their medals outside ANFA headquarters. To address the situation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports held talks between the two sides on Tuesday, 11 November, which resulted in ANFA reportedly agreeing to organise the league within 120 days. Thousands of people across Australia gathered to share a minute's silence at Remembrance Day services across the country on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. SBS Nepali spoke with veterans about the significance of this day and how younger generations reflect on it. Currently a defence analyst in private practice, Ranjit Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana, who has been living in Adelaide since 1978, shared his insights. Rana, who joined the Australian military as a Private on October 10, 1980, said he was affiliated with the 16th Air Defence Regiment Workshop based in South Australia. Similarly, Sydney-based former Gurkha soldier Shyam Bahadur Gurung, who came to Australia in 1989, also shared his thoughts. Gurung said he served in the British Army for about 15 years. The corporal also recalled serving in the Brunei conflict during the 1960s and living in Hong Kong and England before eventually settling in Australia. A powerful car explosion near New Delhi's historic Red Fort has killed at least eight people and injured around twenty others.
