“This could be the real thing. There is no where else but right here right now.” Over Memorial Day weekend at Movement 2015 (or as I prefer to call it Detroit Electronic Music Festival), my cousin filled me in on all that Giorgio Moroder represents, is credited with, and is still producing. Like many people my generation and younger, I just didn't realize all that he has accomplished and has influenced. So I have been obsessing over his music ever since. The coincidence is I was already planning this disco revival thing for my Pride gig but things were just not jelling. My spirit guides must have channeled Giorgio through my cousin because everything for this set fell into place better than I had anticipated. So enjoy this set as a tribute to Giorgio, a shout out to Dimitri From Paris and a preview of my summer 2015 tracks. “Playin' my music helps me from feelin' down.” Every summer I fall in love all over again with the Lake Michigan coast and beaches. I believe it is one of a few places in the US where you can watch truly watch the sun set with it slowly fading away as it inches off the horizon. It is such a sight. When i am in the presence of such an awesome sight, I feel so small in comparison to sun and lake but it's so magnificent that I feel on top of the world. This is how I feel at a great House party. Just one in the crowd but at times I feel the music is being played just for me. “All my tears had been wiped away when you gave me love.” I use House Music as my own form of therapy. At the time I mixed this set, I didn't intend for it to serve this purpose. But I can honestly say that when I listened to it, it kicked my ass. The surprise was track 4, “Happy,” by Ferry Ultra and Gwen McCrea. Suffice to say that I'm happy with this one.
