In this bonus episode, I spoke with Nina Power about 'hybristophilia' – a fetish typically found in women that is characterized by sexual attraction to criminals. We discussed what the phenomenon reveals about female sexuality, the insights offered by erotic fiction intended for a female readership, and the tightrope that women have to walk when trying to attract sexual interest from men. Discussed in the episode: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15334175/The-female-police-officers-betray-law-inside-Besotted-women-share-force-secrets-criminal-lovers-share-jail-kisses-them.htmlhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/news/36533018/ex-prison-officer-jailed-parties-onlyfans/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/2074301/Woman-with-objects-fetish-marries-Eiffel-Tower.htmlhttps://www.louiseperry.co.uk/p/the-evolution-of-mental-illness-marcohttps://www.louiseperry.co.uk/p/where-do-fetishes-come-from-ray-blanchardhttps://archive.org/details/lovingtosurvives0000grah Hosted on Acast. Torie and special guests Chelsey Morin and Thien-Y Hoang return to the 50 Shades of Grey garbage dump for the second installment in this stinking landfill of a film franchise, 50 SHADES DARKER. Don't bother to bring a shovel. After being broken up for 2.5 seconds, newly deflowered Anastasia Steele and hunky millionaire Dom Christian Grey rekindle their love and get into a full-on relationship. As their "intimacy" grows, Anastasia learns more about Christian's dark past and meets some of the (many) skeletons in his closet. What ensues is two hours of even more sociopathic behavior, somewhat less sexy "S&M" sex scenes, a dash of gun violence, a lavish masked ball fundraiser, a pair of Ben Wa balls, even more Hollister men's jeans, poor restaurant etiquette, workplace sexual harassment, and more. We also meet a less-than-colorful cast of new characters, including Christian's former Mommy Dom "Mrs. Robinson," played by Kim Basinger, Anna's misogynistic new boss, Jack Hyde, and one of Christian's former pets/hostages, Leila.

Today I'm chatting with debut author Laura Bishop about her dark rom-com Love Me, Stalk Me—a twisty, funny, walking-red-flag romance that somehow still makes you root for the hero.We get into why so many of us stay in toxic relationships, what it means to choose the brave-but-scary option in life, and how an AI boyfriend app plus a secretly obsessed coworker turned into one of the buzziest dark rom-coms of the year. Laura also shares her whirlwind path from self-publishing plans to a traditional deal with Atria, her genius BookTok biker content strategy, and why putting yourself on camera is both terrifying and healing.
Isaiah, foretelling Jesus' coming, tells us "those in darkness will see a great light." What does that mean for us? As we see how God brings light out of darkness, we see this is the story of our faith - Jesus came as the light of the world to bring peace and joy to us. But it doesn't stop there, He then uses us to bring that same light to others.
Pluribus just leveled up hard with episodes 4 ("Please, Carol") and 5 ("Got Milk"). Episode 4 pulls Carol deeper into morally questionable territory when she drugs Zosia with truth serum to extract intel on reversing the Joining. The Joined can't lie, so Carol exploits that vulnerability without hesitation. It's ruthless, clever, and leaves Zosia collapsing at the end in a gut punch of a cliffhanger. Then episode 5 isolates Carol completely. The Joined abandon her in Albuquerque, leaving her utterly alone in a city buzzing with invisible hivemind chatter. Her investigation into the strange milk substance spirals into full detective mode, and the final reveal under that tarp is one of the creepiest moments of the season.Vince Gilligan keeps tightening the screws, and Rhea Seehorn is crushing it as Carol navigates loneliness, paranoia, and ethical free fall. The atmosphere is suffocating in the best way, and every episode raises more questions than it answers. What did Carol see? What is the milk really for? Drop your theories below and subscribe for breakdowns as the finale approaches!

For this week's main podcast review, Katie Johnson, Josh Parham, Lauren LaMagna & Cody Dericks join me to discuss the sequel to last year's "Wicked," titled "Wicked: For Good," starring Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. The film adapts the second act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and its 1939 film adaptation. Darker and more complex to bring to the big screen, Set in the Land of Oz before and during the events of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," the film explores the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda as they embrace their new identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, with more tie-ins to "The Wizard of Oz." Following the success of last year's film, what did we think of this emotional conclusion? Please tune in as we discuss the adaptation choices, Jon M. Chu's direction, the cinematography, the musical numbers, the powerful performances from Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, its awards season chances, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! First of all... Disclaimer: Today's episode contains discussions of violence, murder, and sensitive topics that may be disturbing to some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised. Okay. Picture this... Chicago, winter of 1945. The city is frozen under a sheet of ice, but inside a quiet apartment on the north side… something very dark was being uncovered. Detectives enter an apartment, push open the door and just stop dead in their tracks. The air is still and thick. The room smells like iron, something sickly sweet. And then detectives see it. On the wall, scrawled in janky ass writing, there's a message written in the victims red lipstick saying: “For heaven's sake catch me before I kill more. I cannot control myself.” Was it a confession? A warning? And the biggest question, what if they meant it? It's a message that would send the city into full blown panic and launch a manhunt for a killer who, even after being caught, would leave people thinking, was that the right guy? This story couldn't be more on brand because today we are talking about... The Lipstick Killer. Also, let me know who you want me to talk about next time. Hope you have a great rest of your week, make good choices and I'll be seeing you very soon. xo Bailey Sarian ________ FOLLOW ME AROUND Tik Tok: https://bit.ly/3e3jL9v Instagram: http://bit.ly/2nbO4PR Goodreads: https://bit.ly/44P51lp Facebook: http://bit.ly/2mdZtK6 Twitter: http://bit.ly/2yT4BLV Pinterest: http://bit.ly/2mVpXnY Youtube: http://bit.ly/1HGw3Og Snapchat: https://bit.ly/3cC0V9d Discord: https://discord.gg/BaileySarian RECOMMEND A STORY HERE: cases4bailey@gmail.com Business Related Emails: bailey@underscoretalent.com Business Related Mail: Bailey Sarian 4400 W. A raw, no-fluff review of The Two Towers — the darker, tighter middle act of LOTR. I cover the split structure, why Book III feels punchier (Helm's Deep, Ents), why Book IV slows to a crawl before the Shelob crescendo, and how pain trains the will through Frodo's burden and Sam's rise. I read this over a couple of months and felt the weight, the world-building, and the payoff.Spoilers ahead: Gandalf's return, the march to war, Frodo/Sam/Gollum through the marshes, and that spider. If you value integrity, patience and quiet courage, this one hits deep. If you've read it, tell me your favourite moment (Helm's Deep or Shelob?). As we move deeper into mid-fall in the Northern Hemisphere, the light is changing. The days are shortening, the sun sits lower in the sky, and our bodies are adjusting — whether we're aware of it or not. This episode explores that seasonal recalibration through a biological and seasonal lens. We'll look at how shifts in daylight influence the circadian rhythm, hormone timing, sleep patterns, energy levels, mood, and even our immune function. This isn't about forcing ourselves to do more in the darker season — it's about understanding how the body naturally slows, repairs, and reorients as we approach winter. This is Scorpio season — a time of descent, composting, and quiet integration. Nature is pulling inward, and we are built to do the same. When we recognize this shift instead of resisting it, we can move through the season with greater steadiness, resilience, and self-trust.This episode is part one of a three-part seasonal arc. Next week, we'll explore how minerals, digestion, and the microbiome shift during the darker months, and how this ties into the deeper emotional and metabolic themes of Scorpio season.Take a breath, let the season work on you — your body knows what to do. The Potter Discussion: Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and the Wizarding World Fandom
Send us a textIn this episode, we discuss what Halloween should include in the TV show. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· 1:22 We have more time to explore the stories. Voldemort kills the Potters, a troll breaks into Hogwarts, the Chamber of Secrets is revealed, Sirius Black breaks into the Castle, and Harry's name is picked from the Goblet of Fire all on different Halloween nights. Getting more from all of those moments would be invaluable.· 12:00 What are magical traditions of Halloween? For all we know, Halloween was a magical celebration to begin with. Why did it start, and who started it? These are the questions we can have answers to if every moment doesn't have to move the plot forward.· 18:22 The ambience of greater Hogwarts. The Great Hall is all decked out with decorations, but the rest of the castle should also have those touches. Darker halls, moving suits of armor, things like that. Those things would remind us that the castle is a safe place, but not completely.· 24:05 Professors have themed lessons. Getting some real-world application into their teachings is always a valuable thing, especially if it relates to something happening right now. I think the professors should jump at the chance to teach some magic that isn't as well known, but still relates to their studies.Having anything you want to hear or say? As the days grow shorter and the air turns colder, many of us feel the heaviness of the season settle in. In today's prayer and devotional, we reflect on the fact that the vibrant colors of fall can be beautiful, but they also remind us of change — of endings, of fading light, and for some, of loss. For those who struggle with sadness or seasonal depression, autumn’s arrival can stir deep emotions of grief and loneliness. In this heartfelt reflection, Vivian Bricker invites us to remember that even in seasons of darkness, God’s light still shines. The same Jesus who conquered death and the grave continues to overcome the shadows within and around us. His presence pushes back despair and fills our hearts with hope. When the darker months approach, we can rest in the truth of John 1:5: no matter how dim life feels, the light of Christ cannot be extinguished. He is the Light of the World — steady, eternal, and strong enough to illuminate even our heaviest days. Today's Bible Reading:“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5

They unpack the emerging peace framework, the complex roles of Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt in Gaza, and what it will take to militarily finish off Hamas once and for all. Will Trumps pragmatic and economic approach to peace create a lasting framework for peace in the region or more headaches with broader conflicts? GDP Script/ Top Stories for October 23rd Publish Date: October 23rd PRE-ROLL: From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Thursday, October 23rd and Happy birthday to Weird Al Yankovich I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia. 'Fall back' — Daylight Saving Time ends Nov. 2 Gwinnett Tech hosts inaugural Gryphon Gratitude Breakfast Georgians react to Instagram 'PG-13' rating policy Plus, Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on sweet tooths All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: Ingles Markets 6 STORY 1: 'Fall back' — Daylight Saving Time ends Nov. 2 Like it or not, it’s that time again—Daylight Saving Time ends on Nov. 2, and we “fall back” an hour. Darker evenings, groggy mornings, and maybe an extra cup of coffee (or three). But does this time shift really matter anymore? Dr. Jason Delaney, an economics professor at Georgia Gwinnett College, doesn’t think so. “It was about saving energy back when lighting and heating were inefficient, and air conditioning didn’t exist. That’s not the world we live in now,” he said. “Economically, the impact is minimal.” Psychologist Dr. David Ludden sees it differently: “It messes with your body. We’re not built to adjust quickly—our sleep cycles rely on light cues.” His advice? Get outside in natural light or use bright indoor lights during the day to help reset your internal clock. So, while the time change might feel like a relic of the past, it still throws us off—at least for a little while. STORY 2: Gwinnett Tech hosts inaugural Gryphon Gratitude Breakfast On Oct. 15, Gwinnett Tech Foundation hosted its first-ever Gryphon Gratitude Breakfast, and the room was packed—150 donors, students, and community partners all gathered to celebrate the life-changing power of giving. It wasn’t just about handshakes and thank-yous. Students stood up and shared raw, personal stories—how scholarships kept them in school, how the Foundation gave them a shot at a future they almost gave up on. “Every donation has a face,” said Darcie Johnson, the Foundation’s executive director. “You’re not just giving money—you’re changing lives.” The event wrapped with a challenge: “Fuel Your Purpose.” A reminder to give, to act, to make it count. STORY 3: Georgians react to Instagram 'PG-13' rating policy Meta’s new “PG-13” filter for Instagram? Let’s just say Georgians aren’t exactly buying it. The company claims the filter will block posts with strong language, risky stunts, or content promoting harmful behaviors—like drug paraphernalia. Sounds good on paper, right? But critics are calling it a PR stunt, not a real solution. Sharon Winkler, who lost her 17-year-old son Alex to suicide in 2017, isn’t convinced. “This feels like another empty promise to make parents feel safe,” she said. Counselor Laura Ladefian agrees. “Filters won’t fix the algorithms that make these platforms addictive,” she said. “It’s like putting a Band-Aid on a broken arm.” We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: 07.14.22 KIA MOG STORY 4: State names Suwanee an 'exceptional' main street city Suwanee’s got some bragging rights—officially. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs just named it one of the state’s newest Georgia Exceptional Main Street (GEMS) communities. Canton snagged the other spot, but let’s focus on Suwanee for a second. Why the honor? It’s all about their downtown. Public spaces, smart planning, and a vibe that mixes charm with progress. Earning GEMS status isn’t easy. Cities have to prove they’re not just growing economically but also keeping their unique character intact. Suwanee nailed it. STORY 5: AMC brings first new Dolby Experience to Gwinnett since 2017 Big news for movie lovers in Gwinnett—Dolby Cinema is back after an eight-year hiatus. This past weekend, AMC unveiled its brand-new Dolby Cinema at the AMC Dine-In Webb Gin 11 on Scenic Highway in unincorporated Lawrenceville. It’s the first Dolby Experience in the county since 2017, and honestly? It’s a game-changer. Think ultra-vivid colors, insane brightness, and sound so immersive it feels like it’s crawling up your spine. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos combine to make every scene hit harder—like you’re in the movie, not just watching it. This upgrade came after three months of renovations, and AMC isn’t stopping here. They’re planning 40 more Dolby locations nationwide, aiming for over 200 total. For now, though, Gwinnett’s got something to brag about. Break 3: And now here is Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on sweet tooths Break 4: We’ll have closing comments after this Break 5: Ingles Markets 6 Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Super Enjoy. A relatively new label on the scene, this crew is moving from Singapore to the world. With seven strong releases since the start of 2024, they've already well and truly shaped their sound and forged a prominent position in Asia and on dancefloors across the globe. Their diverse, yet distinct, style spans smoked-out, dub-infused house and techno, and playful breaks, featuring works from artists like Bongoman, emanon, Sigmoid FM, Kross Section, and Dexter Colt. Dexter Colt is a dedicated selector, whose passion for digging up and platforming new sounds is in plain sight with his work on Singapore's Darker than Wax and Super Enjoy. He's on a mission to discover music daily and bring emerging artists to the forefront - and it's time we do the same for him. He's no stranger to NYC, the home of Delayed, where he regularly joins Marco Weibel's monthly Darker Than Wax show on the city's The Lot Radio, hosting guests whose styles and energies span all corners of the music scene. Today we're highlighting a new track of his ‘The Sleeper Must Awaken', off the Super Enjoy co-founder's debut solo EP, ‘Mesmeric'. And mesmeric is a perfect word for the track. It's dancefloor-focused with a hypnotic pull, an ambient touch, and deep, dusty, levitating basslines. Every track on the EP oozes personality. This is a refreshing new discovery, and definitely one to keep a close eye on for home listening or to get people moving. ‘Mesmeric' is released digitally on October 24th. @dextercolt www.instagram.com/dextercolt_ Write up by @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The other day, President Trump announced that he has bombed yet another boat allegedly carrying drugs in the Caribbean sea. He has now struck six boats, with 27 people dead, and the bombings have been widely denounced as illegal. Now, in a strange turn of events, The New York Times reports that the head of the military's southern command, Alvin Holsey, is stepping down amid unclear circumstances. Did his resignation have anything to do with these bombings? Congressman Adam Smith of Washington State, the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, thinks the answer is likely Yes. Smith talks to us about what he's personally heard about the resignation and why it's plausible that Holsey was removed over potential opposition to the bombings. He illuminates just how appallingly lacking in transparency the administration has been about the strikes, and vows that his committee will seek Holsey's testimony about his departure, which could be very revealing indeed. As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, we find ourselves moving through one of nature's great transitions—the shift of seasons. Every fall, the sun sets a little earlier and our mornings awaken in softer shadows. For many, this change stirs emotions of melancholy or loss. Yet nature gently reminds us that the darker months are not a punishment—they are an invitation. In this episode, Laurie Wondra explores the sacred rhythm of the Earth's cycles and what it means to become your own light when daylight wanes. The Wheel of the Year is always turning—summer's outward energy gives way to autumn's call for reflection and renewal. Our ancestors honored this time through harvest rituals and thanksgiving, celebrating not only abundance but the wisdom of slowing down, conserving energy, and tending the inner flame.Through gentle storytelling and spiritual reflection, Laurie invites you to see this season differently. The Earth isn't losing light—she's balancing. The light turns inward, and so do we. Just as animals prepare and trees release, we too are guided to trust the natural rhythm of rest, reflection, and rebirth.Pause with Laurie in this mindful conversation to breathe, realign, and remember that the same light fading from the horizon is awakening within you.Send us a textSupport the showThanks for listening - For questions or comments email Laurie at Laurie@yourlifecore.comInstagram @yourlifecore or Twitter @yourlifecore Facebook https://www.facebook.com/YourLifecoreWebsite www.yourlifecore.com
President Trump's efforts to prosecute his enemies are suddenly looking even more lawless. Leaks to ABC News just revealed that Justice Department insiders doubt the validity of the prosecution of former FBI director James Comey. This comes after inside sources told MSNBC that a senior prosecutor is resisting indicting New York attorney general Letitia James because the case against her is so weak. Trump is demanding prosecutions of both, and the bucking of his pressure reveals just how corrupt his directives truly are. Meanwhile, Trump just called for the jailing of the governor of Illinois. We talked about all this with former federal prosecutor Kristy Parker, counsel at Protect Democracy. She explains why Trump's prosecutions are so baseless, what we can read into the resistance inside DOJ, and how it might slow our slide into lawlessness. Learn more about your ad choices. Some hauntings don't begin in an abandoned house — they begin in childhood. This chilling true ghost story traces back to a single unforgettable night when the storyteller was just five years old. Their mother often used a Ouija board, though they didn't understand at the time why it felt wrong. One day an older neighbor advised the mother to perform a Mexican folk cleansing ritual by placing an egg in a clear bowl beneath the bed. That same week, the family's beloved cat, Spike, was tragically hit by a car. That night, while sleeping in the mother's bed, the child woke to see Spike hobbling toward them — bloodied but alive — before slipping beneath the bed. When they leaned down to look, the cat was gone. All that remained was the egg in the bowl. For them, that was the start of everything. From ages 6 to 10 came nights of what they now recognize as sleep paralysis: waking in bed yet unable to move, a buzzing rush of dread in their ears, and the terrifying sense that something unseen was slowly approaching from the dark. Decades later, the lights are still left on at night, the shadows never fully trusted. That first night with the egg and the ghostly cat seemed to open a door that has never truly closed. #TrueGhostStory #GhostCat #RealHaunting #SleepParalysis #MexicanFolkMagic #EggUnderTheBed #ParanormalEncounters #SpiritVisitation #ShadowPeople #RealGhostStoriesOnline #HauntedSinceChildhood #GhostEncounter Love real ghost stories? The Wall Street Journal has uncovered that Epstein maintained accounts with more than 20 banks even in the years leading up to his 2019 death—among them, Wells Fargo, TD Bank, and FirstBank Puerto Rico. The documents show Epstein moved at least $60 million into Honeycomb Partners, received $13.5 million from a hedge fund tied to Paul Tudor Jones, and sold $15 million in private company shares to a crypto investor, among other large transactions. Although major banks like JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank say they cut ties (JPMorgan in 2013; Deutsche Bank in 2018), the Journal's reporting suggests their associations with Epstein ran deeper than previously disclosed.Beyond banks, the reporting points to a broader financial network: hedge funds, private equity, venture capital firms, and prominent individuals who moved money to or from Epstein‐controlled entities. Previously unknown payments also emerged: $1 million to Joi Ito, $85,000 to Alan Dershowitz, $250,000 to Terje Rod-Larsen, and reimbursements to former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers (about $1,232.25). In response, legislators are now pushing for hearings—ten Democratic senators recently urged JPMorgan executives and others to testify under oath about their knowledge of Epstein and any “ignored warnings.”to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:The Wall Street Firms That Kept Ties With Jeffrey Epstein Until the End
Several weeks after President Trump ordered a military strike on a small boat in the Caribbean Sea, killing 11 people supposedly suspected of drug smuggling, this saga has gotten much worst. Last Monday, Trump bombed another vessel, killing three. Again his administration released zero evidence supporting the decision, and the specifics in this case make this campaign look increasingly lawless. And we just learned that the White House is quietly circulating a draft bill that would vastly expand Trump's authority for these bombings. Its details offer a damning glimpse into how unrestrained he aims to be going forward. We talked to Brian Finucane, who's been writing great analysis of the situation as an editor at Just Security. He explains why the specifics of that draft bill are so alarming, why the bombings appear to constitute serious abuses of power, and why all this may be hurtling us toward darker lawlessness to come. (Since we recorded, Trump bombed a third vessel in similarly lawless fashion. Looking for More from the DSR Network? Click Here: https://linktr.ee/deepstateradio Learn more about your ad choices. As the country reels from the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Harry welcomes a special all-Contrarian panel of George Conway, Norm Eisen, and Jen Rubin to grapple with the attack's aftershocks. Has the country taken a yet darker turn, with political violence now in the mix? Will Trump seek to institute a crackdown on his critics? And has Kash Patel's leadership weakened the FBI's ability to respond effectively and impartially to a rising tide of politically motivated attacks? Learn more about your ad choices. Questions are mounting about President Trump's decision to bomb a small boat in the Caribbean Sea, killing all 11 people on board. The administration says these were drug cartel members who posed a threat to the United States, but many legal experts have concluded the bombing might have been illegal or a war crime. And this saga just got darker. Senator Tim Kaine and two dozen other Democrats just released a powerful letter laying out tough questions for the administration. The letter demonstrates the weakness of Trump's legal case in a freshly vivid way. And a Senate staffer tells us Kaine reached out to numerous Republicans in hopes of getting them to sign the letter, but damningly, none would. Meanwhile, new reporting indicates that the boat might have been turning around before getting hit, making Trump's decision look even worse. We talked to Scott Anderson, senior editor at Lawfare and author of a great piece analyzing the strike. He demystifies the legal and substantive complexities, sheds light on how brazenly Trump is stretching the law, and discusses whether we'll ever learn what really happened.
