In today's episode I interviewed Jay Peloquin, Manager of Fireside Designs. Fireside Designs is a family-owned business and Jay has been with the company for over 15 years. He has helped the company become the #2 Harman Pellet Stove Dealer in the country, 7 years in a row. The company was founded by Jay's father, Jean Peloquin, in 1980. Jean was a sales rep for a national company in the hearth industry that lead to him becoming an importer and manufacturer in the early to mid 80s. In the mid 80s Jean and his family opened a retail store in Springfield, MA. Fireside Designs has grown exponentially over the years from a small 500 sq ft showroom in Springfield, MA to a 2000 sq ft location at 1458 Riverdale st, and now to their current 5000 sq ft state of the art showroom at 1769 Riverdale St. West Springfield Ma.
In today's episode I interviewed Ian Ricci, Co-Founder and CTO of SolBid, Inc. Ian Ricci, Springfield native, serial entrepreneur, 20 years of software engineering and business management experience. Graduate of the UMass Amherst - School of Computer Science. Has worked with various internet technology companies and startups within the northeast and mid-atlantic regions. First and foremost an artist, loves to draw and paint but also likes to build companies and solve problems. SolBid, Inc started in 2014 between Ian Ricci and his co-founder Nate Raymond. They saw an opportunity in the solar market and thought they could lend their own unique perspective to it. Both Ian and Nate have an entrepreneur background. Ian has started a few technology companies over the years and Nate comes from the corporate consulting background.

In today's episode I interviewed Jacqui B, owner and operator for Pool Guys Pool Service. Jacqui started in 1998 working at Leslies pool supplies as seasonal help. Within a year she became the assistant manager with a CPO Certification. In 2001 Jacqui became manager of the Enfield CT store and during this time she was #1 in her district of 15 stores. In 2003 Jacqui ventured out with a fellow manager to start Pool Guys Pool Service and in 2008 became sole proprietor of the company. Since then Jacqui has performed over 1 million water tests and has helped hundreds of pool customers and pools in need.

In today's episode I interviewed Rick Galarneau, Founder/Consultant at Mass Radon. Rick is a certified radon mitigator, he was trained at the National Radon Proficiency Program sponsored by Rutgers University. Rick is listed with the Mass. Board of Health and the Radiation Control Program. Rick founded the company in 2003 as an off shoot of a property inspection business. He was doing testing but found that there were no certified mitigators in western Mass. So he went through training, courses and testing, became certified and started installing radon systems. Rick sold the company to John Dicken in 2017 and John has continued to provide the expertise and great customer service that Rick always tried to provide.

Lee specializes in renovation financing for 1 to 4 family properties owner occupied or single-family investor renovation loans. In today's episode I interviewed Marco Basile, CEO of Rent-A-Tent and Dreamscape Designs. Marco has been in business for over a decade now. Starting Rent-A-Tent 14 years ago while only in middle school. If that wasn't enough he started a second business - Dreamscape Designs Landscaping before leaving high school. In today's episode I interviewed Tim Hodnicki, owner and president of Electrical Experts. Tim Went to school at Smith Vocational in Northampton for electrical to begin his career as an electrician. He worked for a couple local business until he found his way to Easthampton Electrical Service in 2002. Tim went from temporary help to full time and finished out his apprenticeship to become a licensed electrician. From there he climbed through the ranks from foreman to project manager and estimator then Vice-President until August of 2018 when he purchased the business and is now owner and president. In today’s episode I interview Matthew Bracci, President at Title 5 Inspection Service. Matthew has 25 years of experience in civil engineering, design engineering and septic system inspections. Question List: What is a title 5 inspection? Do you inspect anything else besides the outside components? Why look under the kitchen sink? Why do you look for salt staining in the basement, what is salt staining, and what does it have to do with a title 5 inspection? What is the high groundwater elevation? And what does that have to do with the septic system? So do you need to pick up research material form the town or from the health department to obtain any of this information? So what else do you have to look at in the basement? What happens if everything is not connected to the same system, What if there’s a secondary system or a laundry system? If I have two systems, does there need to be two totally separate inspections? Is there a price difference for that? Once you’ve completed your interior inspection, what’s the next step? How many system components are there typically? I’ve heard you do hand digging for all your title 5 inspections, is that true, and how did that come about?
