Oliver and Ian await the arrival at Grey Gables of the new temporary manager, who's late. Oliver lists his credentials and Ian admits he does sound very good. Ian reckons he'll run a tight ship; Oliver thinks that's just what they're looking for/need. Dane arrives and proves to be chatty and quirky. Both Ian and Oliver are slightly stunned. Dane's a breath of fresh air, but not quite what either of them was expecting. Natasha prompts Tom to tell Helen about Henry hiding his phone from her. He does so and Helen tackles Henry in a quiet moment as he makes a birthday card for Jack. He's defensive at first, worrying that Helen will be mad at him. Eventually he admits he was checking up on some of the names in a dating app Helen's joined. Helen's shocked Henry's been looking at her phone, but understands when it becomes clear he's fearful for her safety. She reassures him, reminding him that it's her job to look after him, not the other way round. She puts Natasha and Tom in the picture. Natasha's excited that Helen's online dating, though equally shocked at Henry's actions. Tom thinks it's quite sweet – Henry's obviously looking out for Helen. Helen points out Henry's clearly worried about the possibility of another Rob. Tom doesn't think so. But Helen reckons she'll delete the dating app. Natasha persuades her to give it a chance. It's great Helen's being proactive about finding someone. Natasha's happy to be her wingwoman; it's very exciting.
Kat got hacked...again? Guys we are not security experts if that was not clear. Both Ian and Kat have been on the road, and they have some takes on people's travel habits and what proper etiquette should and should not be in 2025. From who gets the armrest to how you should sit when you are waiting at the gate, we have you covered (we think). If you came to listen to this episode to learn something about Cisco's solutions for small and medium businesses (which we really did not cover in this one), you should check them out here: https://www.cisco.com/site/us/en/solutions/small-business/index.html#tabs-a107e9a621-item-6caff3e5bb-tab
Imagine starting from zero: no money, no contacts, no properties. You're left with just your knowledge and experience. What's your next move? In this episode, Andy is joined by Ian and Mike as they break down exactly how they'd rebuild a successful property business from scratch.
It's a little late, but we're all caught up now on the podcast. Between Ian's sickness and traveling for the holidays we fell behind, but we did read Atalanta by Jennifer Saint. Both Ian and Ronnie are big into Greek mythology and have a lot to discuss. We end up comparing Atlanta to other famous characters like Jason and Medea and explore Atlanta's story in the larger context of Greek mythology. For January 2025, Ian's pick is Coup de Grâce by Sofia Arjam which is a horror story that takes place in an infinite Montreal subway. Join us next month for our discussion and also check out the Fable app! We made a Shared Pages book club on there. All you have to do is download the app, import your Goodreads lists, and search the book clubs for Shared Pages!

In this clip of Market Mondays, hosts Rashad Bilal, Ian Dunlap, and Troy Millings dive deep into current market trends, investment strategies, and practical tips for both novice and experienced investors. Covering a range of topics from the impact of declining lumber futures to the evolving definitions of a recession, our hosts offer valuable insights to help you navigate these challenging economic times. The clip begins by addressing the significant decline in lumber futures, the decrease in yields, and the slowing down of the M2 money supply. Ian Dunlap emphasizes the market's inherent bias and how it is strategically manipulated to avoid long-term recessions, suggesting that a traditional recession is unlikely in the next four to five years. He advises investors to diversify their portfolios by investing in assets like Bitcoin, Apple, and Microsoft while cautioning against heavily trading lumber futures and recommending alternatives like crude oil and gold.Rashad Bilal poses a critical question for investors: How can they build confidence in trading or making stock purchases post-recession, even after thorough research and preparation? Ian Dunlap responds with straightforward advice: engage with reliable sources of investment information, including the Red Panda community and Market Mondays. He underscores the importance of learning from past episodes and applying that knowledge to current investment strategies.Troy Millings joins the conversation, emphasizing the need for execution over hesitation. He encourages investors to start small, even if it's just purchasing one share or one contract, and then gradually build confidence through experience. Both Ian and Troy stress the importance of consistency and emotional intelligence in navigating the highs and lows of the market. The clip also touches on high-profile investment missteps, like those of Cathie Wood, and the lessons investors can learn from them. The hosts discuss the importance of focusing on core investments and not diluting one's portfolio with too many funds or businesses. They highlight the recent reallocation in technology funds, where Nvidia and Microsoft have overtaken Apple, illustrating how quickly market dynamics can change.Throughout the episode, Ian, Rashad, and Troy bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, making complex market concepts accessible and actionable. In the first episode of the Agile Coaching Mastery's "True or False Series," Ian and I decided to dive into the world of enterprise agility with a fun and engaging true or false game. Inspired by Ian's youth group days, we debated whether certain statements about agile transformations were true or false. With a slightly humorous tone, we explored three topics, each with interesting insights and real-world examples. The first statement we discussed was "all transformations fail if the company is above 20,000 people." While Ian thought this was false, he emphasized the importance of working with the company's size and finding the right approach to make a transformation successful. I agreed, pointing out that a company's size isn't the only determining factor for success; it's also about how the transformation is executed.Moving on, we tackled the statement "it is crucial to get the right data in place, otherwise, you'll make poor decisions." Both Ian and I agreed that this was true, but we elaborated on the importance of having the right amount of data and making decisions based on that information. We discussed examples of companies like Amazon that have successfully made decisions with less-than-complete data and emphasized the importance of timely decision-making.Finally, we addressed the statement "if leaders don't lead a transformation, it will never work." Ian and I both agreed that this was true but clarified that leadership is necessary to provide direction and support for self-organizing teams. We discussed the balance between having strong leadership and giving teams the autonomy to make their own decisions.Throughout the episode, Ian and I shared personal experiences and valuable insights into the world of enterprise agility. We emphasized the importance of having clear definitions, understanding the role of leadership, and making decisions based on the right amount of data. Though we aimed for a 15-minute episode, our engaging conversation led to a 24-minute discussion, proving that even agile coaches can benefit from some improvement. Overall, the first episode of the "True or False Series" was an entertaining and informative exploration of agile transformations. This is a public episode. Welcome to episode 300! Today we are joined by Ian Millar and Amy Millar of Team Millar Brooke to discuss the value of experience in the sport. Ian Millar, known by the nickname "Captain Canada" is an icon in international show jumping. The most decorated equestrian in Canadian history, Ian's record-breaking career has set the bar for its numerous achievements and unparalleled longevity. Ian has appeared in more Olympic games than any other athlete in any sport, with a total of ten Olympic appearances. Winning his first medal in 2008 at age 61, Ian set a record for the oldest show jumper to stand on the podium at the Olympics. In 1996, he was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame with his longtime partner Big Ben, only the second horse to ever receive the honor. Both Ian and Big Ben have since been inducted into the Jump Canada Hall of Fame. Ian has earned nine medals (including two individual Golds) in nine Pan American Games, more than any other show jumper in history. Ian's daughter Amy Millar made her Olympic debut August of 2016 in Rio and currently holds twenty-five Grand Prix career wins to date. Following her father's footsteps into the jumper divisions and finding her own niche, Amy Millar was born into the sport, but hard work and raw talent has propelled her to the top level. In 2017, Amy was crowned the Canadian Show Jumping Champion at the Royal Winter Fair and throughout 2018 and 2019 Amy has collected numerous Grand Prix podium finishes and has continued to represent Canada in Nations Cup competition.
Welcome to Proper Mental episode 96 with Ian Roullier and Leonie Schneider from PsyPAN. The Psychedelic Participant Advocacy Network (PsyPAN) is a non-profit organisation created to connect and empower participants of psychedelic trials and anyone who has received psychedelic therapy. Ian has suffered from depression and anxiety for most of his adult life and psilocybin has proven to be the most effective treatment for his mental health and to date he has taken part in two psychedelic trials. Leonie was first diagnosed with depression in 1996 and had not found any long-term relief in almost continuous antidepressant medication or from conventional talking therapies in over 20 years. In November 2019, Leonie was a participant in the second Psilocybin for Depression clinical trial at Imperial College. They started PsyPAN to ensure everyone gains the maximum potential benefit from the treatment they are being given and to give a collective voice to all participants and help improve participant safety and wellbeing. In this episode I chat to Ian and Leonie about the mental health issues and lack of effective treatment that led them to participating in psychedelic trials and we talk about the process of signing up, the trial itself and what happened afterwards. We also talk about the work they are doing with PsyPAN and why it's so important for them to contribute towards a responsible, ethical and, most importantly, safe psychedelic sector. Both Ian and Leonie have an incredible insight, not just in to psilocybin as a treatment option, but also of mental health advocacy in general and it wonderful to hear about their experiences and their work. You can learn more about PsyPAN at their website PsyPAN - Psychedelic Participant Advocacy Network (psypanglobal.org) or via Instagram and Twitter @psypanglobal or Facebook @PsyPANglobal You can catch up with me at www.propermentalpodcast.com or connect with me via social media @propermentalpodcast. In this episode of Intel on AI host Amir Khosrowshahi, assisted by Dmitri Nikonov, talks with Ian Young about Intel's long-term research to develop more energy-efficient computing based on exploratory materials and devices as well as non-traditional architectures. Ian is Senior Fellow at Intel and the Director of the Exploratory Integrated Circuits in the Components Research. Ian was one of the key players in the advancement of dynamic and static random-access memory (DRAM, SRAM), and the integration of the bipolar junction transistor and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) gate into a single integrated circuit (BiCMOS). He developed the original Phase Locked Loop (PLL) based clocking circuit in a microprocessor while working at Intel, contributing to massive improvements in computing power. Dimitri is a Principal Engineer in the Components Research at Intel. He works in the discovery and simulation of nanoscale logic devices and manages joint research projects with multiple universities. Both Ian and Dmitri have authored dozens of research papers, many together, in the areas of quantum nanoelectronics, spintronics, and non-Boolean architectures. In the podcast episode, the three talk about moving beyond CMOS architecture, which is limited by current density and heat. By exploring new materials, the hope is to make significant improvements in energy efficiency that could greatly expand the performance of deep neural networks and other types of computing. The three discuss the possible applications of ferroelectric materials, quantum tunneling, spintronics, non-volatile memory and computing, and silicon photonics. Ian talks about some of the current material challenges he and others are trying to solve, such as meeting operational performance targets and creating pristine interfaces, which mimic some of the same hurdles Intel executives Gordon Moore, Robert Noyce, and Andrew Grove faced in the past. He describes why he believes low-voltage, magneto-electric spin orbit (MESO) devices with quantum multiferroics (materials with coupled magnetic and ferroelectric order) have the most potential for improvement and wide-spread industry adoption. Academic research discussed in the podcast episode: A PLL clock generator with 5 to 110 MHz of lock range for microprocessors Clock generation and distribution for the first IA-64 microprocessor CMOS scaling trends and beyond Overview of beyond-CMOS devices and a uniform methodology for their benchmarking Benchmarking of beyond-CMOS exploratory devices for logic integrated circuits Tunnel field-effect transistors: Prospects and challenges Scalable energy-efficient magnetoelectric spin–orbit logic Beyond CMOS computing with spin and polarization Optical I/O technology for tera-scale computing Device scaling considerations for nanophotonic CMOS global interconnects Coupled-oscillator associative memory array operation for pattern recognition Convolution inference via synchronization of a coupled CMOS oscillator array Benchmarking delay and energy of neural inference circuits
Welcome to another episode of the Conscious Design Podcast and today our guest is Everett Frank. Everett first talks about his experience in the industry. Everett then talks more about the importance of locating and obtaining unobtainable parts and how to do it exactly. Everett then tries to answer how to resolve issues in the compliance sector as he and Ian realize this is a spot where many designers get stuck. Everett then talks about how they obtain good and reliable data for the engineers to work. Both Ian and Everett agree on the point that it is much better to start sooner than later and thinking about compliance should be one of your priorities early on. Everett then answers Ian's question about his personal opinion on where the supply chains should improve. He also touches on some of the problems of startups today. In the outro, Everett wishes everybody the best and shares his sites where he is more than happy to be contacted. In this episode, we talk to rheumatologist Rachelle Buchbinder and orthopaedic surgeon Ian Harris. Rachelle is also a Coordinating Editor for Cochrane Musculoskeletal and Cochrane Back and Neck. Both Ian and Rachelle are vocal advocates for evidence-based medicine – and fearlessly challenge professional norms and are creating new structures to wind back ineffective and dangerous care in medicine and surgery.
The recent increase in COVID-19 cases is showing up in the data in different ways, in different regions. Royce describes why inflation surprises shouldn't be taken at face value, while growth surprises aren't as concerning as the bond market is suggesting. Ian walks through his expectation for the FOMC meeting next week, and provides a framework for thinking about how the Fed's taper will impact bond yields. Both Ian and Royce do a deeper dive on the recent communications from the Bank of Canada, and discuss why quantitative-tightening (QT) is an elegant solution for the BoC in the coming hiking cycle.
Atakan Efe is back at it again with little to no new facts. In this episode, Ian joins the podcast as the two discuss Drake Bell's controversy. Karl Nassib has come out as the first active gay NFL player. Both Jay Williams and Jalen Rose have shown their cards as fake analysts. Both Ian and Atakan discuss their favorite guys in the top 30 in fantasy for the upcoming season. Quick NBA playoffs update with a live look at the Bucks vs. Hawks game 2. Brief NHL update. Euro 2020 update and predictions for the round of 16. Loki episode 1-3 review/ reaction. Shang Chi hype up for the recent trailer dropping.
Dr. Ian Storey, mathematician and lecturer in information systems and Guy West, professional share market investor and chess master, continue the discussion of different kinds of risk. Here the focus is on gambling and insurance. Which games are best avoided at casinos and why. Is insurance always worth the premiums? Both Ian and Guy agree that mathematical literacy is sorely lacking in the general population and needs to be emphasised more in school. Part 2 of a 2 part interview.
Host Ian Hartitz is joined by PFF analyst Andrew Erickson to break down every skill-position player selected in the first round. The guys are firing up Justin Fields as the most fantasy-friendly QB of the class, but only until Trey Lance manages to wrestle the starting job away from Jimmy G. Both Ian and Andrew agree that Zach Wilson would be the bust of the group if forced to choose, although his low-aDP makes him a decent enough option in best-ball land. Conversation continues with the guys gushing over Ja'Marr Chase and Kyle Pitts' respective potential to ball out in 2021, while Ian and Andrew aren't quite so sold on the rest of the first-round receivers due to a mix of potential low target share and unproven QB play. Najee Harris could be an RB1 before the offseason is all said and done, while Travis Etienne will hopefully be the three-down back despite Urban Meyer's immediate comments after the draft. Things wrap up with a look at the Aaron Rodgers to Denver rumors as well as (throws up in mouth) Tim Tebow to the Jaguars.

Host Ian Hartitz is joined by Broncos beat reporter George Stoia in part 29 of the PFF Fantasy Football Podcast 32 for 32 series. The guys start off by discussing Drew Lock's future, which leads to both Ian and George expressing their hope that the Broncos' gunslinger can figure it out. Discussion continues with a look at some of the defensive problems facing the 2021 squad before George points out that running back could be a sneaky priority. Both Ian and George are expecting Jerry Jeudy to rebound quite nicely, while an injury update is provided with Tim Patrick. The guys round things out with a look at Tim Patrick, Noah Fant and how many starts to expect from Lock next season.
Host Ian Hartitz welcomes on Sports Illustrated senior fantasy analyst Michael Fabiano to discuss recent NFL developments as well as the Divisional Round. The guys start things off by going over which landing spot would lead to the most 2021 fantasy value for free agent Allen Robinson. Ian and Michael agree that Diontae Johnson should be treated as a legit top-20 WR in 2021 fantasy drafts, but keep an eye on the potential for an unnecessarily large ADP disparity between him and Chase Claypool. Conversation continues with a look at 2021 expectations for Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars, what to expect from the Seahawks without OC Brian Schottenheimer, and where Joe Burrow stacks up in the dynasty QB ranks. The guys next get into the divisional round. Both Ian and Michael think the Browns have a good chance of covering and we shouldn't discount Baker Mayfield and company in DFS either. Things might not be easy for Aaron Rodgers and company, but it's going to be tough for Jared Goff to keep pace. Conversation winds down with more analysis on the Saints-Buccaneers and Ravens-Bills matchups before the guys finish things off by pondering which team would an alien be best off following and becoming a fan of for the next five years. 0:08 Intro 2:13 Dream landing spot for Allen Robinson II? 5:07 How will Diontae Johnson/Chase Claypool fare in 2021? 8:27 Year 1 expectations for Meyer/Lawrence in JAX? 12:25 Concerned about Seahawks’ offense in 2021? 15:33 How many QBs would you take ahead of Burrow? 17:36 Do the Browns have a shot at beating the Chiefs? 21:18 Can the Rams great defense stop the Packers great offense? 26:04 Will the Buccaneers finally beat the Saints? 31:40 Prediction for Baltimore/Buffalo news headlines? 33:48 Team to root for over the next 5 years?
Host Ian Hartitz welcomes 4for4 Director of DFS TJ Hernandez to discuss the Week 17 DFS slate. The guys start off going through which teams might not be motivated to play their starters for 60 full minutes. Conversation continues with a look at John Wolford and this banged-up Rams offense as well as where Malcolm Brown falls in the slate's cheap RB landscape. Both Ian and TJ are all in on Curtis Samuel taking full advantage of his rare dual-threat role, while the guys have differing opinions on just how they want to approach the tight end position this week. Additional topics include: favorite sub-$4,000 WR, top galaxy-brained dart throw, if there's any way you can get away from Derrick Henry in cash, thoughts on the number 0 being swaggy in football, and much more. 0:05 Intro 02:26 Any DFS options on KC, PIT, BUF and TB? 07:00 Are you buying into John Wolford or Malcom Brown? 11:04 Best running back at 4,500 or lower? 13:50 Are you confident in Curtis Samuel’s role? 16:50 Who is the best sub 4,000 receiver to target? 21:56 Is the Raiders offense stack worthy? 23:59 Most outlandish DFS player to target? 27:02 Is Derrick Henry a lock for Week 17? 29:34 Which receiver to target in the 5,000-5,500 range? 32:08 Should you buy in on Jonathan Taylor?
Host Ian Hartitz is joined by ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates. The guys start off discussing what to make of the Washington and Indianapolis backfields in Week 10 and beyond. Both Ian and Field are confident that Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt can provide high-end value together, but things aren't quite so clear in this suddenly-crowded Eagles offense. Field decides which RB he'd want to represent planet Earth if the aliens invaded tomorrow and forced us to play a football game. Ian agrees with Field's assessment that Antonio Brown might just emerge as the most fantasy-friendly WR in Tampa Bay. The guys also discuss Cam Newton's chances against the Ravens, if Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow can overcome their respectively tough Week 10 matchups, who to start on the Rams ahead of their shootout against the Seahawks, and finally who would you rather have between A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf in a neutral situation.

The 2020 Media Ghouls Halloween Spooktacular enters the '90s this week as the guys review Wes Craven's Scream! Nearly 25 years after the film's release, does it's "fresh" take on slasher films hold up? Both Ian and Justin think so as they explore the major shake ups this meta film brought to the horror genre and the film industry as a whole. Oddly enough this film has connections to almost every other film we've reviewed for this year's Spooktacular. Could it be a coincidence or is something more Sinister at play...
Host Ian Hartitz is joined by PFF and Establish The Run analyst Dwain McFarland to break down all 16 Week 4 contests. Baker Mayfield and the Browns haven't been throwing the ball much in recent weeks, but the Cowboys might just present the sort of porous defense and high-octane offense to enable OBJ and Jarvis Landry to big games. T.J. Hockenson szn? Dwain sure thinks so, and he's got #numbers to back it up. Both Ian and Dwain agree that Justin Jefferson should be locked in as the priority Week 4 waiver climb, but Tee Higgins shouldn't be too far behind. The guys give James Robinson some love without freaking out too much, and ultimately finish things off with a look at Eagles-49ers and Falcons-Packers.

Learn more about how Lucas Oil is working to promote shooting sports As a younger man, Ian saved up enough money and took some time off work to attend the NMLRA / WKU Seminar to learn Lock Building from Jim Chambers. During any break in the class, Ian would run across the hall to catch bits from the House Brothers classes. From there he traveled to their home shop to chat and learn before stepping out to develop his own style of rifle building. Visit thorbullets.com/nmlra for your chance to win a pack of premium THOR Bullets. Since taking those classes, Ian and his wife Maryellen have started teaching their own classes in a variety of locations. Both Ian and his wife teach classes at the Log Cabin Shop in Lodi Ohio, as well as at Canter's Cave in Southern Ohio with the Southern Ohio Artisans Guild. If you like Ian's work and want to see it in person, you can find him behind a table and in the crowd at several events during the year including the large CLA show in the fall, as well as several other "Mini" CLA Shows through the year. Brian and Ian discuss these feelings and occurrences in which people draw closer to God because of them. (19:13-28:35) Empathy is something that people experience less and less every day. Welcome to the penultimate episode of SFP-NOW for 2018. In this episode Raissa and Ian give their thoughts on the recent CW Elesworlds crossover event and make a few predictions about how it could impact on Arrow and the eventual Crisis and Infinite Earths Cossover, which we'll see in late 2019. Both Ian and Raissa were impressed with Ruby Rose's interpretation of Bat Woman, but felt that not enough was seen of her given that she was only in the second episode, but look forward to seeing her get developed in the future. We also take some time to look back at Jody Whitaker's first season as Doctor Who and discuss the strong and weak points of the season. We both pretty much come to the conclusion that this first season for Jody Whitaker's Doctor hasn't been a strong one. So why not set your time machines on pause. Enjoy a few mince pies and yell at us from the sidelines as we get all cranky and opinionated about our favourite science fiction and superhero shows. So why not See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
