This week, Tranos addresses some barriers to her piece. Though Tranos & the Lived Experience is striving to generate more positivity and comfort, certain people in the world are making it hard to focus on that. This episode examines the fake outrage on the right about Dylan Mulvaney's brand deals with Bud Light and Nike. She's an unobjectionable, white trans woman, and June's coming up. It's the most usual thing in the world, but conservatives and their figureheads are mobilizing boycotts where they buy a bunch of product and destroy it- which is not what a boycott is. But this misguided, flailing, ineffective outrage is drowning out important discussion about actual serious stuff like Tennessee lawmakers illegally attacking democracy in their state. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." TW: PRETTY MILD CRITICISM OF THE INSTITUTION OF WHITENESS AND ITS FANSTranos is tired. The response to Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's draft opinion that the court should overturn Roe v. Wade was obvious, underwhelming and annoying. White women who respond only seasonally to oppression scrambled to put up ungrounded protests that fail to address the structural and social problems that make instant removal of abortion access possible. The lack of bodily autonomy for people in the United States is by design, but white women mostly don't have to think about it, so why do some of them want to criticize lifelong activists of color and queer activists for not lining up behind them? Tranos investigates, but it's because they're racist. This episode was musically inspired by “Charlotte” by Kittie The music video homework is linked here. This epiosde's strain is Blue Walker Catch up on all the NQO happenings at NewQueerOrder.com and follow Kamryn @TheTranos on Twitter, @TranosLives on Instagram
