As the only licensed skunk rescue in the United States, Skunkhaven is more than just a safe haven — it's a full-on mission to change the way people see these misunderstood animals. Deborah shares how she went from curious pet owner to full-time skunk advocate, building a sanctuary that educates, rescues, and supports skunks and their humans nationwide. You'll hear the truth about de-scenting, what skunks are really like as pets, and yes — some hilariously adorable skunk stories, too. If you've ever thought skunks were just backyard troublemakers, this episode might just change your mind. www.skunkhaven.net                          www.furrealpodcast.com fb Deborah Cipriani         fb The Fur Real Podcast    fb Mark A Kyle ig @thefurrealpodcast       ig @markakyle Speical thanks to J Jig Cicero @jjigcicero for our music intro and outro..you rock!!! One of my personal idols growing up, Juhi Pande, sits with us in this wonderfully reflective episode to talk about her eclectic career as a TV host, presenter and VJ on Channel V, and what exactly prompted her to leave that career and make the move from Bombay to London. We dive into the highs of early media life (casually interviewing the likes of Rakhi Sawant and Sanjay Leela Bhansali as part of the job), the quieter shifts that followed, and the deep grief of suddenly losing her best friend and business partner; a moment that changed everything for her. Juhi shares how she slowly began to rebuild, grounding herself in the act of making with her hands, eventually founding Skunk, a line of beautifully crafted soaps made with intention and care. And then, the whirlwind that was becoming a mother at 39 and how that's transformed her life in beautiful ways she had never imagined. This conversation is nostalgic and full of the kind of honesty that will stay with anyone trying to figure out what comes after the pivotal moment.Explore Juhi's work on: Website: https://skunksuperstore.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/skunksuperstore/

The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice.  We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you're concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. POP Fathering in a modern-day world is a book that will help you navigate the tough choices you have to make while fathering in today's world. How do you connect with your kids? How do you navigate difficult decisions? Willy Bowles is an expert when it comes to parenting. He has been a Foster Parent, Adoptive parent, Step parent and has two biological children as well. Join radio hosts Rebecca Wanner aka 'BEC' and Jeff ‘Tigger' Erhardt (Tigger & BEC) with The Bend Radio Show & Podcast, your news outlet for the latest in Outdoors & Western Lifestyle News! Season 5, Episode 229 Skunk Mating Season  Skunk mating season runs from February through March, bringing stronger odors into neighborhoods. Male skunks travel up to six miles to find a mate. The pungent smell is part of their courtship rituals. Females release strong odors to repel unwanted males, and males may even fight over a mate, intensifying the smell. Dealing with Skunk Odors on a Dog If you or your dog gets sprayed, here's a simple DIY solution: Mix hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap to neutralize the scent. Be cautious near your pet's eyes and fur, as the peroxide may bleach. Wear OLD CLOTHES. Mix 3 to 4 parts 3% hydrogen peroxide to 1 part baking soda, along with a teaspoon of dish detergent.  Apply this mixture to your dog while it's still bubbling IMPORTANT KEY WARNINGS: Do not use the solution near your dog's eyes, and be careful when applying around the mouth. Peroxide may bleach your dog's fur, an effect that is especially noticeable on black or brown dogs.  Peroxide may also bleach any other material it comes in contact with, like clothing, towels or furniture. Skunk Safety Tips Keep pets on a leash outside to avoid skunk encounters. Ensure your dog's rabies vaccinations are current, as skunks can carry rabies. The hosts highlight Mayor Tishaura Jones' concerns about the $41 million police budget increase by 2028, and the city's struggle with staffing levels amid a controversial funding shift. They also explore the ongoing legal battle over Missouri's minimum wage hike and the fight against increasing mandates on small businesses. Mark dives into Howard Lutnick's fiery defense of President Trump's tough stance on tariffs, particularly the retaliatory 50% tariffs against Canada's tax hike on American energy. The hosts discuss the broader trade implications and the U.S. standing firm as a global power. Then, Kim and Marc debate a new housing bill aimed at revitalizing downtown St. Louis, but safety concerns about rising crime in areas like the Central West End and Downtown take center stage. Mark wraps up with a humorous segment about his unique superpower: an unusually sensitive sense of smell, which leads him to recount his struggles with an overpowering skunk odor in the Chesterfield Valley, and a past nightmare with his dog getting sprayed.

Are MacDonald and Schneider at least on the same page now? :30- We are just TWO days away from the NHL Trade Deadline and with the Kraken expected to be sellers, we discuss just how big the sale could be and who could be sent packing by Friday. :45- Some breaking NFL News the Chiefs worked out a trade with the Bears for veteran guard Joe Thuney It's time to take a look at the free agent Guards available this offseason. What specifically are the Seahawks looking for on the O-line? There are just a handful of players who might make a good fit in this new offensive scheme.

Believing the Bizarre: Paranormal Conspiracies & Myths

The Skunk ApeDeep in the swamps and forests of the southeastern United States lurks the legendary florida cryptid known as the Skunk Ape, a close cousin to the more famous sasquatch of the Pacific Northwest.Standing between 5 and 8 feet tall and weighing over 300 pounds, this florida bigfoot has earned its distinctive name from the powerful sulfuric odor it reportedly emits. Historical sightings of this swamp creature date back to 1818, with Native American Seminole tribes referring to it as the Esti Capcaki, or "Hairy Giant," believing it to be the mystical protector of the woods. From the mysterious Myakka skunk ape photographs of 2000 to the numerous documented encounters in the Everglades, this southern bigfoot continues to captivate researchers and witnesses alike. The everglades monster has been the subject of multiple credible sightings by law enforcement officers, fire chiefs, and everyday citizens, with reports describing a massive, hair-covered humanoid that moves with surprising agility through the dense Florida wilderness. The creature's most distinguishing characteristics, beyond its imposing size and reddish-brown fur, are its distinctive four-toed footprints and that unforgettable stench that often announces its presence before it's even seen.Patreon: Support Believing the Bizarre and get tons of extra content by joining our Patreon. For updates, news, and extra content, follow Believing the Bizarre on social media:InstagramFacebookTwitterDiscordShop Merch: You can rep Believing the Bizarre and buy some unique merchWant to send BTB something? Standing 7-8 feet tall with reddish-brown fur and weighing over 300 pounds, this bipedal creature is often considered the southeastern United States' answer to the Pacific Northwest's Bigfoot. Historical records date back to 1818, including Native American Seminole tribes who called it "Esti Capcaki" (the Furry Tall Man) and believed it to be a mystical protector of the forests. Notable sightings have been documented by law enforcement officers, fire chiefs, and countless civilians, with significant clusters of activity in the Everglades, Ocala National Forest, and various swamplands throughout Florida. David Shealy, a prominent Skunk Ape researcher, has dedicated his life to studying the creature and operates the Skunk Ape Headquarters, housing photographs, footprint casts, and research materials. The creature is known for its distinctive characteristics, including four-toed footprints, long arms that hang past its knees, and an ability to move swiftly through dense swamp terrain despite its size. While skeptics suggest it might be misidentified black bears with mange or elaborate hoaxes, continued sightings by credible witnesses and consistent physical descriptions across decades have maintained the Skunk Ape's status as one of America's most intriguing cryptozoological mysteries.

Billy critiques the Labour Party's continued resistance to medical cannabis reform, calling their stance "hypocritical and disappointing" as patients continue to struggle for access. So many questions surrounding the origins of skunk, chem, diesel, and Durban genetics are answered in this once-in-a-lifetime episode with one of the real originators from the culture.Blackleaf is joined in the studio by cultivation legend and breeder for Lucky Dog Genetics, Jason aka Skunk VA, to discuss his lauded history with the plant, following the Grateful Dead around on tour, and his immense efforts at genetic preservation. Skunk VA is a name you may have only heard in closed conversations with longstanding members of the culture dating back to the ‘90s anywhere from Virginia to Colorado, San Francisco, Montana, or really anywhere across the US where people were growing massive weight as sneakily as possible. You'll get to hear legendary stories from Jason aka Skunk VA as he dives deep into his history with the plant, dating back to when he first began following the Grateful Dead as a teenager, going to rehab, and then eventually meeting the legendary guerilla grower Mark, who is responsible for the Super Skunk F2 as well as handing him his first cut of Chem back in 1991.Throughout this podcast, one of the biggest things we hammer back in on is Skunk VA's stewardship of the original Chemdog 91 cut. It's become in many ways his calling card that has played a pivotal role in all of his past, present, and future work. You'll hear Blackleaf ask about The Grateful Head project that Skunk VA is involved in with Kevin Jodrey and other OG's that strives to preserve original cuts of all the important varieties throughout the history of herb. There's really no stone left unturned in this episode in terms of strains that need to be remembered. Skunk VA provides never-before-heard insight on the crosses and history of varieties like Diesel Poison, Crossroad, Chem Diesel aka Chem D, The Tits, Beatrix, Super Skunk, and what's really happened to Sour D.If you think it's been all sunshine and daisies for Skunk VA—you'd be sorely mistaken. There are also stories that unfold from Skunk VA during this pod that will have you on the edge of your seat. Some of these involve raids, seizures, and serving hard time for simply growing (debatably large quantities) of the plant.Any lifelong fans of the plant need to soak up every minute of this episode not only for its mind-blowing stories but also for insight into how someone can turn their passion into profit while still maintaining dignity.Subscribe to our channel and the FSOTD.com site to keep up with other key players and enjoy conversations with tastemakers from the culture you can't find anywhere else. Drip Hydro specializes in creating clean, effective, and cost-efficient nutrient solutions for plant cultivation, backed by over 35 years of industry experience. Their products, available in fluid and powder forms, are designed to deliver precise nutrition while preventing issues like salt buildup and poor flavor, making them compatible with various irrigation systems and growing mediums. One of the overarching things we discuss during this podcast is how to properly provide nutrients to your plants at any scale, along with the ongoing conversation of genetic preservation, highlighting the varieties we all truly miss like Skunk, Northern Lights 5, and the original Urkle.Blackleaf also fires off countless questions during this podcast that only a fellow grower would know to ask such as why growing has gotten so complicated, what it's like running greenhouses in Santa Barbara, how cultivation is going down in Puerto Rico, the key to finding top-shelf flower in LA these days, and some of their favorite genetics they've run over the past decades. That isn't to say that Rex and Jason don't also let loose plenty of insider opinions throughout this episode as well. You'll hear Rex weigh in on the history of BHO and why it's a dead industry today, as well as the problem with LA growers all using the same genetics these days. Between all of the knowledge bombs and never-before-heard stories, you'll even hear Jason talk about his early days in Colorado, selling bags to Anna from CAM before she set up shop in California. If you're a fan of cultivation or growing the plant in any capacity, this podcast is a must-see from start to finish. My special guest tonight is Dr. Kewanuee & Kelly Lapseritis who are here to discuss their research and contact with the Sasquatch People and the message they have for humanity.   Buy the book.     Bigfoot, also commonly referred to as Sasquatch, is a purported ape-like creature said to inhabit the forests of North America. Many dubious articles have been offered in attempts to prove the existence of Bigfoot, including anecdotal claims of sightings as well as alleged video and audio recordings, photographs, and casts of large footprints.[2] Some of which are known or admitted hoaxes.[3] Tales of wild, hairy humanoids exist throughout the world,[4] and such creatures appear in the folklore of North America,[5] including the  mythologies of indigenous people.[6][7] Bigfoot is an icon within the fringe subculture of cryptozoology,[8] and an enduring element of popular culture.[9] The majority of mainstream scientists have historically discounted the existence of Bigfoot, considering it to be the result of a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal.[10][11]Folklorists trace the phenomenon of Bigfoot to a combination of factors and sources including indigenous cultures, the European wild man figure, and folk tales.[12] Wishful thinking, a cultural increase in environmental concerns, and overall societal awareness of the subject have been cited as additional factors.[13] Other creatures of relatively similar descriptions are alleged to inhabit various regions throughout the world, such as the Skunk ape of the southeastern United States; the Almas, Yeren, and Yeti in Asia; and the Australian Yowie; all of which are also engrained in the cultures of their regions.[14Follow Our Other ShowsFollow UFO WitnessesFollow Crime Watch WeeklyFollow Paranormal FearsFollow Seven: Disturbing Chronicle StoriesJoin our Patreon for ad-free listening and more bonus content.Follow us on Instagram @mysteriousradioFollow us on TikTok mysteriousradioTikTok Follow us on Twitter @mysteriousradio Follow us on Pinterest pinterest.com/mysteriousradio Like us on Facebook Facebook.com/mysteriousradio]
