On Saturday, Bournemouth were TROUNCED by Brentford 4-1 at the GTech Community Stadium in a showing which raises the same old questions amongst Cherries fans. Sam and Tom dissect the abysmal performance before contemplating the bigger picture - a club that are seeking togetherness whilst deploying transfer policy that creates an environment that appears so temporary. Episode 155 – Back in Charge: Rice Anchors Arsenal's Away-Day ResponseArsenal return to winning ways with a controlled, professional 1–0 victory at Everton — a result that mattered as much for how it was done as the points themselves.Declan Rice sets the tone with a commanding midfield performance as Arsenal quieten Goodison Park, manage pressure moments, and reassert their standards away from home. We break down the structure, the control, and why the scoreline flattered Everton more than it reflected the performance. We discuss Ødegaard's role, Arsenal's chance creation and wastefulness, the penalty decisions, and whether this felt like a genuine reset after recent noise. There's also analysis on Rice's influence, Calafiori's impact, and why this was a quietly important win.In part two, we whip around the grounds, dive into another busy VAR weekend, address the Arteta contract noise, and look ahead to the Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace — including rotation, priorities, and what Arteta might do next.Control restored. Lynnell puts Commanders head coach Dan Quinn under the microscope, questioning why the team has regressed this season in so many areas where it previously found success. He points to inconsistencies in performance, identity, and accountability, arguing that this year has reflected an inconsistent program led by an inconsistent coach.
In this sermon, Pastor Jeff concludes an Advent series by exploring the theme of divine love through a comparison of microscopic and telescopic perspectives. He argues that the human heart's natural tendency is to act like a microscope, zooming in on personal hardships until they dominate one's field of vision and obscure faith. To counter this, he encourages the congregation to adopt a telescopic view, which brings the immense scale of God's affection and grace into clear focus. By referencing the biblical examples of David and Mary, the speaker illustrates how individuals can intentionally pivot from magnifying their anxieties to exalting the greatness of Christ. Ultimately, the text serves as a pastoral invitation to recognize the incarnation as the ultimate evidence of a love that is larger than any earthly struggle.Support the showThanks for listening! David McIntosh, attorney, former U.S. Congressman (IA-2), co-founder of the Federalist Society, and President of the Club for Growth, joins the discussion on what's behind America's affordability challenges. McIntosh highlights how Club for Growth economists and leaders have been calling on Republicans to focus on kitchen-table economic issues like cost of living and affordability heading into the 2026 election cycle, noting that voters consistently weigh economic concerns above all else and want real, pro-growth solutions. Drawing on his long record advocating limited government, lower taxes, regulatory relief, and free-market reforms, he explains how high prices for housing, healthcare, energy, and essentials have squeezed families, and why policy matters when it comes to wages, prices, and overall economic freedom

In this episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton tackle a quiet but powerful source of conflict in first responder marriages (Amazon Affiliate) — when your spouse sees the job through a completely different lens than you do. Maybe they think you're overworked… but you think you're doing what's necessary. Maybe they worry constantly… while you feel numb or disconnected from danger. Maybe they resent the schedule… while you feel duty-bound to show up. This difference in perspective can create tension, misunderstanding, emotional distance, and even resentment — not because either partner is wrong, but because the nature of the job shapes your brain, your nerves, and your worldview in ways most civilians can't fully grasp. This episode opens the door to understanding, communication, and healing for couples stuck in the invisible tug-of-war between the job and home.

The result said “win”. The conversation said something else entirely. In this episode of The Non-Negotiables Podcast, the lads use Arsenal's narrow victory over Wolves as a springboard to address deeper issues that have been building beneath the surface. Rather than focusing on the match itself, the discussion centres on selection decisions, misaligned roles, and why performances are starting to feel disconnected from standards. There's an honest, sometimes uncomfortable conversation about trust within the XI, why certain profiles aren't fitting the games they're being picked for, and how old habits — late-game retreat, lack of control, and reliance on fine margins — appear to be creeping back in.With pressure increasing at the top of the table, the episode questions whether Arsenal are managing rhythm, load, and structure effectively, and what needs to change quickly to prevent results masking performance issues. Also discussed:• Selection fit versus opposition• Midfield balance and tempo problems• Confidence, trust, and responsibility within the squad• Whip Around the Grounds and title-race context• Takahiro Tomiyasu's move to Ajax• Squad depth, injuries, and AFCON implicationsA reflective, standards-led episode focused on why this win felt wrong — and what Arsenal must correct to realign performances with expectations.Chapters:(00:00) – Arteta's Non-Negotiables Intro(01:11) – Expectations vs Reality: Wolves at Home(02:37) – Team Selection Under the Microscope(08:15) – Gyökeres Debate: Trust, Confidence & Role(23:15) – Eze, Martinelli & Misfit Roles(29:00) – Merino's Usage and Tempo Concerns(31:46) – Old Habits Creeping Back(37:44) – Match Stats(38:15) – The Positives(41:15) – Part Two: Time Off for the Squad(44:06) – January Window & Defensive Depth Worries(48:00) – Whip Around the Grounds(54:56) – Title Race Context & Rivals' Results(58:26) – Newcastle, Spurs, Relegation & Emile Smith Rowe(01:02:49) – Tomiyasu to Ajax(01:05:28) – AFCON, Asian Cup & Fixture Disruption

Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning kick off the second hour of the week with a look back on Craig Berube's comments following his team's 6-3 loss to the Oilers on Saturday. They discuss the need for more from the leadership core right now and what that could look like for the group. They also compare and contrast Auston Matthews from three years ago to now and examine what has changed so drastically. Later, the guys break down Mark Shapiro's five-year extension with the Blue Jays, the significance of Tyler Rogers signing in Toronto, and what his role in the bullpen might look like. After the break, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi (25:55) explores Atkins' new deal and if the World Series run provided enough proof of concept to justify it. The conversation also touches on why the pitching market is moving faster than the position-player market, the possibility of turning to the trade market to address bullpen depth, and the latest on Kyle Tucker. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

When UC Berkeley Professor Randy Schekman was 12, he scooped up a jar of pond scum and examined it under his toy microscope.“I just could not believe the world that was revealed,” he said during a campus event earlier this month. “This complex set of creatures that you can't see with your naked eye, and yet are moving and somehow mechanically independent, and able to do amazing things. And this was so fascinating.”Schekman went on to become a professor of molecular and cell biology at Berkeley and win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2013 for his discovery of how yeast membranes work. His research has led to advances in food and fuel production, as well as life-saving drugs and vaccines. In this Berkeley Talks episode, Schekman explains the molecular building blocks that define who we are, the cellular processes that drive health and illness, and how curiosity-driven research leads to revolutionary insights into disease and opens doors to new possibilities for medicine and human health. This lecture, which took place on Nov. 7, was sponsored by UC Berkeley's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. We got Kish from LilywhiteLab on to dig into Thomas Frank and the big question around Spurs right now. Why are we so blunt in attack? Why are the tactics so conservative when we have the talent to play a more ambitious brand of football? We go through the double pivot obsession, the back five against Arsenal, and what Frank got wrong with Bentancur and Pallinia sitting in front of it. We ask whether this is about the manager, the personnel, or the hangover from finishing seventeenth last season. And most importantly, we talk about what needs to change if Spurs are going to look like a team that can create big chances again. Can Frank do it, and what would it take to unlock this squad? Red Sox, Yankees, and the most underrated American League players in the MLB. This writer's question, do you like Connor Wong? What about Adam (@dunkintern)? It was also a busy week of contract tendering and non-tendering. It's sad to see Bernie's face, though to be fair the Red Sox did send him to hell in exchange for soda in the vending machine. I hope Paul DePodesta is happy with his new Colorado Rockies. In this segment of "Under the Microscope", the middle infield - Jorge Polanco and Ha-Seong Kim. (Ha-Spongebob Kim. IYKYK.) Are these guys worth considering in Boston? We say yes, but with some caution. One thing we all know the Red Sox need is infield defense. That's why we need to take a good, hard look at what Bo Bichette actually does for us. DFAs, Non-tenders, the end of Josh Winckowski, and the background around the new guys in camp. There could be some CFP clarity after this weekend OR things could get even more convoluted. With GameDay in town, Pittsburgh will try to end Notre Dame's CFP dreams as the Irish stand under the college football microscope, Texas heads to Georgia looking to keep their CFP hopes alive (even with a loss they could still beat A&M and make things VERY interesting), while Alabama welcomes Oklahoma to town a year after the Sooners ended the Tides playoff dreams. BYU, Louisville and Virginia are looking to bounce back and stay alive in conference races, while Texas A&M and USC try to keep things rolling.
