I believe people will take themselves to far extremes in order to NOT believe in the claims of Christ or what is written in the text of scripture. Not to say that there aren't sincere believers of many other religions. However, sometimes, what they believe in light of the text, seems extremely far-reaching and void of critical thinking with regard to honest historical and theological scholarship. The controversial confession allegedly written by Cyril Lucaris which brought on the Synod of Jerusalem in 1672. Noticing the trend of useless and baseless false accusations by labeling you something that you're obviously not - just to jam a negative image on you. That's what even some "Christians" do when they can't get past the true reading of scripture but want to force a less than Biblical understanding. Why would "the world" be against parents spanking their children? The research, the stats, the "experts" all say, it's unhealthy and counter-productive for good outcomes. But what do they mean by "good outcomes" and do they even care about the Biblical wisdom that instructs "spanking when necessary"?
