Two Guys Talking Hockey Red Wings, Griffins and everything in between.Listen as we go over games and other things around the league.
Welcome Back! Connor and Dustin are back and jumped right into the Conference Finals, of course talked about the Red Wings as the Griffins are currently on a playoff run for the Calder Cup. The prospect pool is churning and looking forward to the offseason to see whats happening contractually and what youngsters will we see take the ice.Dustin brought up Trocheck when he was meaning to bring up Trouba, when he was referencing Gudas.Support the Show.
Connor and Dustin talk about the Wings Season, while overall they finished strong, theres still that issue of the losing streak they went on during Larking absence. It shows the lack of depth in the center position and hopefully thats something that Yzerman looks to strengthen this offseason via prospects or trades/free agents. Raymond surely put on a show this season making the case made for a big long term contract. With the Wings out of the playoffs the Connor and Dustin can watch some unbiased hockey. The Wings need to be in a WC1 position next year or better or they will have a lot of questions to answer.Who do you think is going to win this years Stanley Cup? Will the Presidents Trophy Winner the Rangers finally break the curse? Support the show
The Wings have had an interesting end of February and early March. They had a winning streak moving into their West Coast trip and have recently lost 3 straight(ironically after announcing the recent jersey partnership). For the first time in a long time the Wings find themselves in a Wild Card spot. However when you evaluate the recent signings by Vegas, Colorado, Edmonton the Wings do not look to be at the calliaber. Does that mean Yzerman makes no moves at the deadline, and just shops in the offseason like we have seen him do as of late? We have some big signings this offseason with Seider and Raymond coming of their rookie contracts. Do you think the Wings will end the season in a Wild Card Spot?Support the show
Connor and Dustin jump right into discussing the current status of the Wings. With only 2 games back from the All Star Break there wasn't too much to dive into but they are needing to keep with their winning ways if they want to make the playoffs. Currently holding on to the last Wild Card Spot, the wings look to finish strong on their West Coast trip. Support the show
Dustin and Connor of course break down the recent Lions game, because we are Detroit based and I think everyone was talking about it. They had one amazing season and something to be proud about! Connor being the more analytical person wasn't as hard on Aaron Glenn as Dustin was. We think the Lions have created a solid team and cant wait to see how it plays out next season! The Red Wings have recently found themselves winning hockey games! After their early season slump they have turned it around big time without Kane skating for them. Larkin scored his 200th goal recently and Copp scoring his 100th(He didnt care). The team is playing solid hockey and not having the typical 2nd, or 3rd period break downs we have seen in the past. The Wings need to continue this winning in an ever challenging Atlantic division. The All Star break starts this upcoming Thursday, so the boys will be taking a break till hockey starts back up! Dustin will break down his time at the Stadium Series game Flyers vs Devils. Support the show
Connor and Dustin are back after taking time for a quick Winter Break, with Christmas and New Years its always hard to find a time to record. But the boys are back and so are the Red Wings. The Wings have been playing an elevated level hockey that was reminiscent to how they started the season. They have found their way back into playoff contention currently sitting with a wild card spot after winning against Tampa last night. Speaking of Tampa, the boys recorded before the game, but WOW! Lets go LIONS. Patrick Kane is looking to nurse an injury and get back to skating, he did not skate the last two games on the road for the Wings. The Wings need to continue this elevelated play if they want to stay in contention for the Playoffs.Next Episode Connor and Dustin are going to try and Instagram Live show!Lets Get the Puck Outta Here!See ya next week! Connor and Dustin finally connect after a good holiday season with their families. One of the hot topics was of course the Joseph hit on Larkin and the Perron aftermath. Dustin and Connor both echo Larkins comments about the Player Safety Board being so inconsistent that most of the players have little to no idea what will get supplemental suspensions and what wont. The Wings need to find out how to keep pucks out of the net quick, with their goaltending roaster starting to dwindle with injuries and the blue line looking moderate at best, they need to find some pieces to supplement soon. Kane looks to be heating up looking like the Kane as of late, however, recent rumblings suggest he could be moving teams if the Wings are not a playoff contender come trade deadline. Do the Red Wings look into their system to explore possible Blue line call ups? Do they search for a possible trade partner? What do you think needs to happen to make that next step?Support the show
This week was a quick episode, while Kane took the ice and skated he remained scoreless however had multiple opportunities. The Wings let up 4 goals after scoring their own 4 goals to lose in OT via the Sharks. The Wing needs to tighten up if the expect to remain a conversation for the playoffs, especially with the recent Kane signing. Connor was at the game and mentioned the odd rotation of the lines, with Kane staying out sometimes for 20 seconds sometimes longer. Currently the Wings are 3rd in the Atlantic a spot they haven't held after Thanksgiving in some time. They need to look to capitalize when they are scoring and not let large leads go to waste. We hope to see Kane running normal lines sooner than later. *This episode was recorded pre Larkin incident, this will be on the next episode as Connor and Dustin were both at the game*Support the show
The hot news of the week is the recent signing of Patrick Kane. Connor and Dustins expectations are similar in that you are getting a low cost high caliber player. Is he going to be superstar Kane like we are use to seeing? Only time will tell. I think its best to go into this at finding another solid scoring piece. How do you think this shakes up the lines? Do we see a Captain America Line? Cat-Larkin-Kane? Alex Lyon has proved to be a bright spot in between the pipes after Dustin gave him a hand slapping last pod, for what seemed to be for no reason as he posted a shutout soon after. The Red Wings need to continue their offensive zone pressure and keep putting goals in the back of the net, Dustin would like to see Sider keep his emotions in check or take a comparable player with him to the box. How do you think the Wings look coming into the Christmas break? Currently they are 3rd in the Atlantic, however with the Lightning getting their cup winning goaltender back in the net this division looks to tighten up closer to playoffs. Support the show
The Red Wings with almost a quarter of the season played are really right where most analysts had us at the start of the season unlike the Oilers... However after a hot start from the Red Wings with Alex Debrincat starting the season on pace for 100 Points things have slightly cooled. That being said the Red Wings are currently in the Top 5 of most scoring teams, a big change over years past. However we are still ending a lot of games with 1 goal for or 1 goal against, when we thought goal scoring would win more of these toss ups this season. Seider has been taking a few penalties as of late, Dustin thinking he needs to pick his battles especially with the Domi penalty, him getting taken off the ice to Connors point is detrimental when he is the leading penalty killer and plays the power play as well. The Red Wings needs to find the ability to score in the first period and hold off goals in the first as well, that has been their biggest hole this season. The Boys hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with you friends and family! Support the show
The Red Wings are off to a hot start being 2nd in the Atlantic Division. Larking and Debrincat are clicking and we finally have true 2nd and third lines. Thoughts and prayers out to Adam Johnson and his friends and family. Dustin and Connor talk about neck guards and the implementation of them in multiple leagues around the world. Dustin and Connor think the Wings have 4-5 wins in them moving into Thanksgiving. If they can keep up this pace there is 0 reason they wouldn't at least be in the conversation for playoffs and being buyers at the deadline.
What a way to start a season! After coming out with a loss to New Jersey the wings have been nothing but HOT since. Yzermans offseason signings have started to find their footings in the Yzerplan. The first line with Debrincat, Larkin, Raymond has been nothing but on fire. Currently Alex is on pace to score 100+ goals this season. The Larkin haters have seemed to be silenced as he can finally be the playmaker the Red Wings know he can be.
Episode 164Preseason is here, and there is MUCH more excitement this time around. With the new additions to the roster, this Wings team should be primed for playoff contention. We know, we know - one step at a time. The DeBrincat-Larkin connection is already looking good - the duo had identical goals in the games against Pittsburgh and Washington where DeBrincat receives a pass down low on the left side of the goal and feeds it across to Larkin, who then buries it in the gaping net. We understand that preseason scores shouldn't hold a lot of stock, but we can't help but be pumped for a good Wings team! It's been about 10 years since we've had something going!
Episode 163We were joined this week with special guest, Carter Mazur! This young, 21-year-old wields a combination of skill and a scoring touch. Taken in the 3rd round (70th overall) by the Red Wings in 2021, Mazur played just two collegiate seasons at Denver University, winning a National Championship AND being named Rookie of the Year for the NCHC in his freshman year. Carter ended his second year at Denver by signing his ELC with Detroit and joining the AHL-affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins for the remainder of the season, tallying 6 points in 6 games. We are just a few weeks from preseason hockey! Best of luck to Carter Mazur at the NHL Prospect Tournament up in Traverse City as we hope to see him in the winged wheel in the near future!
Episode 162Early Stanley Cup odds are out and the favorite seems to be the Carolina Hurricanes with the Maple Leafs and Devils right behind them. There's a 4-way tie for worst odds overall at +25000: Anaheim, Arizona, San Jose, and Montreal (lol). Your Detroit Red Wings have the 24th best odds at +7500, which is a definite underestimation since the Sens are at +4000. 46 days away from pre season hockey!!
Connor and Dustin catch up on some golf talk as well as the biggest move of the summer for the Red Wings. If you haven't heard Yzerman finally made a big move in the offseason, signing Michigan native Alex DeBrincat. The boys have talked about him ad nauseam and it finally came to fruition. The Wings have needed a natural goal scorer for sometime and with this signing it looks like Larkin will finally have a linemate that can score. Raymond - Larkin - DeBrincat would be a goal scoring line and a real contender as a top line finally. Look for Larkin to increase his point production while not necessarily adding goals. It looks like the team is finally making strides to become a playoff contending team after currently tying the longest playoff drought in franchise history with 7 years(1971-1977). With additions of depth players and a plethora of goalies the Red Wings look to find a team that can win. Do you think the wings made the right moves? Is it enough for the playoffs?
Episode 160The draft went just as well as any Wings fan would hope for, but the free agency moves have the faithful quite confused. Although it's only just begun, many were hoping that Yzerman was going to dive into a signing big name early such as DeBrincat or Terasenko.Stevie definitely addressed some needs, however, with the depth added on the back end with Justin Holl and Shayne Gostisbehere as well as in the center position with the signing of JT Compher. On paper, the team seems deeper, but do these moves make the team a playoff contender? That's the question as of now, and we shall see how the next two weeks pan out for free agency!
Episode 159And just like that, the 2023 season is in the books! Vegas has won the cup in just their 6th season as an NHL franchise. What an incredible run for both teams - battling through broken bones all the way. Just like many playoffs, stars were born during this year's run: Eichel proved to be one hell of a playmaker these playoffs, Marchessault went from undrafted to Conn Smythe (beating his former squad in the SCF), and Adin Hill was a BRICK WALL all playoffs, setting records along the way.Summer is here! This means we will be going to a bi-weekly schedule, so we will be back in a couple weeks!
Episode 158The SCF is all set for 2023: Vegas vs Florida. Neither team has lifted Lord Stanley, so this is a series for the books! With Vegas already taking game 1, they are a mere 3 wins from etching their names into the silver sides of the Cup. Can they get it done or will the pesky Cats fight back and bring home the Cup to the Sunshine State? Please go to 7 games! We need to milk as much hockey as we can out of this final series! (Dustin: Ill allow a game 5....fine a game 6 for Connor)
Episode 157Because it's Memorial Day, we had to get our golf talk in. Dustin gives his thoughts on his recent trip to American Dunes in Grand Haven.Next topic was the Jamie Benn brain fart moment of cross checking Mark Stone in the jaw, leading to a 5-minute major plus a 2 game sussy. What on earth was the goal there? Although Dallas rallied for games 4 and 5, all signs point to a Florida vs Vegas Stanley Cup Final.Does Tkachuk continue his tear and bring home the Panthers' first Cup in franchise history? Or will Eichel get the sweet taste of a Stanley Cup victory, bringing Vegas their first Cup in franchise history? Either way, it will be an action-packed Final and we can't wait for it!!
Episode 156We're into the conference final now with the heavy underdog Florida Panthers taking a both games on the road. This team continues to look better and better with each game. Can they complete this Cinderella story? In the west, we have Vegas taking both games at home, both in OT over Dallas. It's shaping up to be a Vegas and Florida final, but we all know that in these NHL playoffs ANYTHING is possible.
Episode 155The battle cats have rallied to the conference finals against the Canes - WHAT A STORY! The Leafs have found yet again a way to piss away a season of any hope. What's next - new suits? New players? What's the answer? The West is still up for grabs as the Kraken and Stars drag it out to game 7. On Sunday night, Vegas hopes to send the Oilers to the golf course with a game 6 victory. Another topic of discussion for the boys: do the Red Wings have the worst luck with the draft lottery? Last few lotteries have been as follows:- 2019: dropped to 6th (from 4th)- 2020: dropped to 4th (from 1st)- 2021: dropped to 6th (from 5th)- 2022: stayed at 8th- 2023: stayed at 9th
Episode 153The Leafs FINALLY do it… after 19 long years, they finally get passed the first round. Order the rings because the fans act like they already won the cup. There are 3 more game 7s to go for this first round. Can the record-setting Bruins continue this incredible run? Will Seattle stun the defending champs? And you might a well flip a coin for the Rangers and Devils series - we have NO idea what will happen there. This first round has been entertaining to say the least, and we cannot WAIT for round 2. It will be a gauntlet!
Episode 152Playoffs are underway and there have been NO dull moments thus far. Every series has been an all-out battle with a lot of surprises. No sweeps in this year's 1st round! The boys also talk about the impact that a tough guy can have on a playoff team. Some examples given were Ryan Reaves, Marcus Foligno, Darnell Nurse, etc. Who is available for the Wings to scoop up this off season to add some grit to this roster?
Episode 151The season is over which means the boys give their thoughts overall along with focuses for the off season. Does Yzerman need to get a pure goal scorer to give Larkin some help? Maybe some toughness and grit, too?Playoffs are here!!! First round games are this week and it is the greatest time of year. The weather is warming up and hockey is on every night. What could be better? Make sure to tune in to listen to the 1st round picks as well as the Stanley Cup favorites.
Connor and Dustin chat it up with some league news, currently the Boston Bruins are on a historic run of a season, currently only two games shy of tying the Red Wings with most games won in a regular season at 62. The only other team to do this was the Lightning in 18-19 season. Marco Kasper looks to makes his debut against the Toronto Maple Leafs, at the time of the recording there was little news on if he was dressing but all signs pointed to yes. How will the individuals all play finishing up the season. Dylan Larkin is on the edge of tying for his best season yet( he scored a hat trick against the leafs, surpassing his best point total in his career.
Episode 149The Wings are now BELOW the .500 win percentage point, and the boys are just excited for golf and the 2024 Wings. Yzerman has a lot of wiggle room with the cap - will he finally get some help around Larkin to carry the rest of the weight of the team? Our captain holds the heavy lead for goals, assists and points for this team. Put some help around him and see what happens. The focus for the rest of the season should solely be personal development for certain players (Veleno, Suter, Chaisson, etc). Wins are not essential nor matter at this point. Have something to build upon for next season.
Episode 148The Wings are not making playoffs this year, but the future is looking bright. 2021 6th overall pick Simon Edvinsson made his NHL debut this week and impressed the Yzerman faithful against a very good Avs team. Edvinsson isn't the only prospect to sing praise for - Marco Kasper, the Wings' latest draft pick (2022 8th overall), was just named Austria's player of the year. He's the youngest to receive this award, so this could very well be a steal at 8th overall!
With about a quarter of a season left the Red Wings look to prove it to themselves they can win without a few key parts -- they have done it before during the season when they had to look to their depth while they battled injuries earlier in the season. The Wings stole one from Boston this week at home, beating the best team in the NHL. With the playoffs out of the picture, I feel like Yzerman similar to last season is watching how these players act during tough streaks during the season. I know the boys are excited to see what comes of the off-season with still a lot of players needing to be signed, you never know what Yzerman has up his sleeves!
Episode 146Larkin got the bag, a few guys got the boot - including Bert. The guys break down EVERYTHING that has happened the past week. The wings have been on a slump, dropping 5 straight. Playoffs are not in our future for this year, but could this past trade deadline mean that Yzerman is ready for a big off season? The guys break down who he could be targeting for free agency.
Episode 145The Wings have to continue to stay hot if they want to make the cut for playoffs! Just over 20 games remaining and they are right on the bubble. The remaining schedule will be a big test to see what they're made of. Dustin and Tyler discussed how many players have improved under the tutelage of Derek Lalonde, but the most improved player this season has to be Big Ras! He has really come out of his shell and is playing big boy hockey all while making important plays under pressure. Let's hope the Wings stay on this heater and find their way into WC1 where they would be matched up with Carolina (most likely) for the first round, which would be better than facing the wagon that is the Bruins!
Episode 144West coast road trip went well for the boys in red and white - winning 3 of 4 and stealing 6 out of 8 possible points. Before the Seattle game, the Wings won 5 straight! No better time to catch fire, especially only being a few points out of playoff contention. Because the team is doing so well, what does Yzerman do at the deadline? We think he either keeps everything the same or makes a move to improve. Won't be selling this year!
Episode 143This week's episode was focused mainly on the Larkin contract. With Horvat setting the market at $8.5 mil, will Larkin get the same? More? Less? Over the past two seasons (and on an extremely mediocre Red Wings team), Larkin has managed to average just under a point per game. No one else on the team comes close to that. In fact, the 2nd most points on the team is 35 (Filip Hronek).Needless to say, we need to put some more help around this guy. Imagine what kind of point production he would have if he had 2 top wingers flanking him.
This week we had a quick episode breaking down the last three games.Connor and Dustin talk about the games going into the all star break. Going 2-1 in the last 3 games is a good way to start your All Star Break. Rasmussen is starting to find his stride and is starting to be come a possible trade piece. They discuss the upcoming trade deadline as well as Larkins 400th point. The boys take a week off for the All Star Break. Hopefully the Wings do not come out flat and can continue winning some hard fought games.
Episode 141This week has been a tale of two different hockey teams - heading to Colorado to get completely embarrassed, then let Arizona walk away with a win. Then beating Vegas in their own barn, coming home to play a hell of a game against Philly and a hot goalie. In this episode, we hear how Dustin was hit by a pizza box (that's assault brotha!), the guys' thoughts on the top 5 D in the league today, and comparing Stammer and Ovi - who would you rather build a franchise around?Last week of hockey before the all-star break! Let's go Red Wings!
Episode 140The Wings surprised everyone with two big wins in a row against very respectable teams, but then followed up with a loss to a team that has been out of the playoff picture since week 1.The 7-5 win against Winnipeg was….something. It almost seemed like they tried giving the win away multiple times and finally decided to finish. The 4-1 win against Toronto was very impressive. The Leafs are a hot team with a ton of star power and we kept them to one goal. The 4-3 loss against Columbus was an admirable attempt at a comeback, but it was too little too late after being down 4-0.The Wings begin their busy, 4-game week with a west coast trip, stopping in Colorado, Arizona, and Vegas. After the road trip, they come home and face the Flyers. Dustin, Tyler, and Connor are all in agreement that this week will bring a 2-2 record. Let's hope for better!
The Wings have been on a little bit of a losing streak coming into the New Year, but they are still playing good hockey overall. Fabbri returning to the lineup has boosted the play and he made an impact game one with a goal and a couple great hits! Connor and Dustin welcome on recurring guest Carley Johnston. They boys have had her on in the past as she always has good stories about the players and herself. We broke down the season, the injuries as well as the new prospects that the organization have welcomed this past season when we had to dig deep into our depth. The boys of course get into the lighter side of hockey with questions about the players and her favorite moments as a member of the Red Wings organization. The Red Wings look to get back on their winning ways with three homes games this week at LCA. They look to recapture some points from Toronto at home as they lost Saturday with the Leafs in Toronto 4-1.How do you think the Red Wings end up this week? We also briefly touched on the Lions, who unfortunately did not have luck fall on their side with the Rams not beating the Seahawks in OT after a questionable running into the kicker call late in the 4th.
Episode 138Happy new year to all you Wings fans!! It's also our THIRD anniversary of Wing Sauce. Sending a special thanks to everyone who has supported us in this fun, hockey-loving journey. The Wings have been playing some exciting hockey lately, showing off their ability to score multiple goals in a short amount of time. No lead is safe against this feisty team! For the first time since 1984, the Red Wings overcame a 4-goal deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins. A few nights later, they battled back and beat the Ottawa Senators after being down 2-0 after the first. Being in the toughest division in the NHL and having one of the hardest remaining schedule, these guys need to battle like that in each game. They have some games at hand and are still in the hunt for that wild card spot!
Episode 136The Wings take another 5 out of a possible 8 points on their road trip this past week. The most impressive of those games being the one in Tampa. This was Head Coach Derek Lalonde's first time being back in Tampa as his new squad faced his former team and came out with a W. Even with all of the injuries (7 total), they continue to find a way to be competitive most nights. If this team gets healthy, they could make some noise in the race for the playoffs! All of this is pretty exciting considering the Red Wings have the 8th hardest schedule in the NHL. Not too bad for a young team that seems to be trending in the right direction!
The Red Wings had a rock start with their home stretch, only able to capture 1 point over the long week. Connor and Dustin break down the different games as well as the depth again as we see Tyler Bertuzzi out for the new 6-8 weeks. The Wings looks to capture a win and a few points this week as they travel south to take on Blue Jackets, Stars, Lightning, and Panthers. The Blue Jackets is a must win game with the remaining three times being top teams in the league. The boys give a shout out to Paul Cotter and his homecoming this year against the Wings. He has been tearing it up for Vegas this season and looks to be having fun doing it.
Episode 134HOT WINGS!! Currently on a 4-game heater, the Wings look to extend this win streak as they play the next 3 games this week at home against Toronto, Buffalo, and Vegas. The power play has looked great, the PK has improved to 6th in the league, Hronek just tied the franchise goal streak for defensemen, and Husso has played like he deserves Vezina consideration! The Wings are looking like a playoff team right now, and Connor brought up the fact that when teams are in the playoff picture after Thanksgiving, they typically stay 75% of the time. Pretty exciting to see the Yzerplan unfold before our eyes!!
Episode 133The Wings came back from their road trip with 5 out of 8 possible points, which isn't too shabby for a middle-of-the-pack team that has been riddled with injury. A couple of players have been surprising so far this year: Rasmussen and Hronek. The past couple seasons, the Wing Sauce guys have been pretty critical of these two, but they have been proving us wrong! This week kicks off a 5-game home stand to end the month. The first two games are against some teams that have been struggling this year (Nashville and Arizona). Hopefully with the injuries on the mend and more consistency in scoring, the Wings can keep climbing up the ranks!
Episode 132Welp… the wings started the week off hot with an OT win in NY, but the wheels fell off for the remainder of the week. Playing the Rangers again at home, they were all tied up heading into the 3rd. This ending left a different taste in our mouths as the Wings allowed SIX goals in 20 minutes for an 8-2 loss. Embarrassing, pathetic, ridiculous - whatever you want to call it. Wings are on their first west coast trip of the year where they've already dropped one game to the Kings. The good news is that their next three games are against teams that are well below .500. This ought to help them bounce back from their 1-2-1 week. Dustin and Tyler are predicting a 3-0 week for Detroit! We'll be checking in next week to see how our predictions did along with the team.
Episode 131Although the Wings have struggled of late, it seems as if they were able to string together some wins - and against good teams! Kubalik is looking like the best off-season acquisition with 14 points in 11 games (tied for the team lead with Dylan Larkin). Nedeljkovic has not looked good so far this season, but the blame cannot fall entirely on him. The team has yet to play a sound defensive game in front of Ned this season, letting up roughly 40+ shots on average while he's in net. The Wings have 4 games this week: two against the Rangers, one against Montreal, and one against the LA Kings. Let's see if the Wings can help Ned out this week and fix those atrocious GAA numbers!
Happy HalloweenConnor and Dustin talk about the recent games against the Devils, Ducks, Bruins, and the Wild. The dig into who is starting off this season on a good foot and who still has some way to come. Raymond finally dusted off the cobwebs and netted 2 against the Wild, the haters will have to wait for another game to continue their "slow start" "overrated" talk. Rasmussen decided to get aggressive, and by aggressive we mean get suspended for two game for high sticking Krejčí against the Bruins. With Vrana, Bertuzzi, and now Rasmussen out the Wings looked for the depth players to bring some excitement to the ice. The Wings have had a pretty solid penalty kill this season, which is quite the different tune than last years. Detroit travels to Buffalo for a one game road series, and then back for a two game home stand next week. Episode 129First 5 games are complete, and the Wings improve to a 3-0-2 record! These guys have shown some resolve in the absence of two top players, Bertuzzi and Vrana. Larkin hasn't skipped a beat since last season and continues to be the most dependable player on the team. Raymond hasn't found the scoresheet as much as we would like, but he has still been playing very well overall. It won't be long until he finds his stride. The Yzerplan is in full effect and everyone is drinking the kool aid! Episode 128FINALLY hockey is back, and more importantly, the Red Wings are looking good! The guys talk about the first two games of the season with the new and improved roster. Could this Wings team make some noise this year? Some believe there is a possibility of sneaking into playoffs as a wild card. The division winners were picked as well - should be some tight races for most divisions! The guys ended the episode with a fun conversation of who the biggest prospect bust for the Red Wings was: Jakub Kindl, Tom McCollum, or Tomas Jurco.
Episode 127Luckily we have the Red Wings to give us hope because the Lions continue to be themselves. Preseason is underway and there have been some highlighted performances such as Raymond and Soderblom, and some underwhelming performances like Edvinsson. Preseason is what it is and we do not put much stock into it at all. Honestly, we're happy it's back!In a new segment, the fellas battle the question “who was more impactful at their position: Lidstrom, Howe, or Yzerman?” This was a fun discussion and you'll have to listen all the way to the end to see who the winner was.
Episode 126The fellas talked golf for the majority of this episode. From favorite golf games to handicaps and everything in between. Dustin and Connor played another round at Connor's home track - Dustin had a little redemption this time around. There was a bit of good news surrounding the Wings lately: Moritz Seider has cracked the NHL's top 50! Sitting at #49, that's quite the spot for a second year player! Some lists have him even at 41 and one list had him as a top 10 defenseman in the league. Needless to say, it's been awhile since the Red Wings have been on the receiving end of some much deserved praise. Can't wait for the season to kick off! Only a little over a month until we have hockey back!Call into (616)287-2515 to get possibly get your questions answered by our guests!or send us a message below:Contact:https://www.wingsaucepod.comhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0iGuBLpFF1xvIyGYh4ZOvgTwitter: @wingsaucepodInstagram: @wingsauceEmail: michiganwingsauce@gmail.com
