Steve Yzerman's vision for the future of the Detroit Red Wings took some major steps this week, with the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline culminating in the trade of Tyler Bertuzzi, Jakub Vrana, and Oskar Sundqvist (after already trading Filip Hronek and signing Dylan Larkin & Jake Walman earlier in the week). The only thing that didn't happen was the James Van Riemsdyk trade - JVR, you'll be missed in Motown. Tune in as we open by discussing the Tyler Bertuzzi trade to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a top-10 protected 2024 1st round pick & a 2025 4th round pick. We analyze the quality of the return, whether Bertuzzi was ever close to signing in Hockeytown before becoming a UFA, Dylan Larkin's emotional press conference right after the trade, Bertuzzi's impact in the room & on the ice, & more (4:20). Hi everybody, and welcome to  Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings finally have a home.  The Detroit Red Wings are dealing with Bo Horvat trade rumors and Dylan Larkin contract negotiations. In the meantime, Andrew Copp and the team played a great game against a not so great opponent, the San Jose Sharks. We'll discuss it all with you! Andrew Copp just played one of his best games as a Detroit Red Wing and we think we have some insight into how and why. Copp netted the game winner in OT vs the Sharks, so hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. The Red Wings are also in the middle of the hottest trade rumors to hit the market in the NHL this season. While the Vancouver Canucks are turning into the embarrassment of the league, they are very transparent with what they want to do in their next steps. Bo Horvat is one of those next steps and while they'd like to keep him, shipping him out seems like the best option.  While Bo Horvat is at the top of everyone's mind, a related story, because it deals with another pending UFA in the NHL, Dylan Larkin is discussing with Steve YZerman his own extension. MLB – Mike Clevinger investigated by MLB for domestic violence Chicago White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger is being investigated by Major League Baseball following an allegation of domestic violence. Olivia Finestead publicly revealed the allegations in an Instagram post. Clevinger, a 32-year-old right-hander and a six-year major league veteran, agreed to a $12 million, one-year contract on Dec. 4. Finestead said she is the mother of Clevinger's child and alleged he fathered two other children who were not hers. She posted photos of marks on her body with accompanying words that alleged the injuries were caused by Clevinger strangling her and throwing an iPad at her while she was pregnant.
