Jason Wood turned his battle with orthorexia into a mission to break the stigma around men's mental health by publishing his memoir Starving for Survival. He is proud to serve on the board for Running in Silence, Michigan Eating Disorder Alliance, and SoulPaws Recovery Project. Jason is also the Director of Community Engagement at ANAD and facilitates the organization's new men's peer support group. Through speaking engagements, his writing, and his work, Jason strives to start an important conversation that encourages everyone--especially men--to speak up, share their stories, and get the help they deserve. Our Hosts, Linda and John Mazur, and Ellen Bennett, discuss various mental health issues—eating disorders, anxiety, depression, suicide, substance and alcohol use disorders. This team has a combined experience of over thirty-five years in dealing with eating disorders and their co-morbidities. They share their insights on anorexia, grief, advocacy, and the significance of finding support networks. The podcasts feature interviews with mental health experts, authors, and individuals with lived experiences. Linda, John, and Ellen emphasize the need for improved community awareness and the benefits of strong interpersonal connections. Join us as we start the conversations to end the pervasive shame and stigma associated with mental health issues as we strive to improve mental health care and learn to embrace, better understand, and support those who struggle, and those who love them. Let's help each other pick up the pieces and discover new pathways to healing.Linda and John Mazur advocate locally, nationally, and internationally. They serve as community advisory board members of the Western New York Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders. They attended President Biden's Speech, Improving Access for Mental Health Care, in 2023. They have spoken at eating disorder conferences, and for community groups regarding the importance of eating disorder and mental health awareness, advocacy, and education. They provide peer support groups for adults and families through their non-profit, The Emilee Connection, as well as connect people to resources. They wish these supports were available for their adult daughter, Emilee, and for them, as her parents. It takes a village of support to help someone through a mental health struggle. They honored their daughter's last wish by writing a memoir with her writings included, so it might bring awareness to the things that need to change, in the hope that no one else would have to suffer as she did.The Mazur's can be reached at: Linda.John.Mazur@gmail.comTo learn more about their nonprofit visit: www.TheEmileeConnection.comTheir book and audiobook : Emilee - The Story of a Girl and Her Family Hijacked by Anorexia: Mazur, Linda, Mazur, John, Mazur, Emilee: 9781700920126: Amazon.com: BooksTheir book website www.EmileetheStoryofaGirl.comEllen Bennett is an advocate, speaker, retired educator, and director of KMB for Answers which is a non-profit foundation providing educational and financial support for mental health professionals as well as assistance for families in search of resources. Miszónak is száz a vége, hallgassátok!
Rozmowa Piotra Szczepańskiego i Jerzego Marka Nowakowskiego w ramach cyklu #rozmowywszechnicy [8 października 2025 r.]Niemcy, a właściwie Królestwo Prus, zaczęły odgrywać istotną rolę w polityce europejskiej w XVIII wieku, umacniając swoją pozycję m.in. dzięki udziałowi w rozbiorach Polski. Były jednym z głównych architektów ładu europejskiego ustanowionego po Kongresie Wiedeńskim w 1815 roku.W procesie zjednoczenia Niemiec Prusy dwukrotnie udowodniły swoją militarną potęgę. Najpierw pokonały Austrię (w wojnie prusko-austriackiej w 1866 r.), zyskując dominację w Związku Północnoniemieckim. Następnie, po zwycięstwie w wojnie duńskiej, przyłączyły Szlezwik i Holsztyn.Wzrost potęgi Prus i ich polityczna ekspansja skłoniły II Cesarstwo Francji do wypowiedzenia wojny w 1870 roku (wojna francusko-pruska), którą Francja sromotnie przegrała. In this episode of the Today's Conveyancer Podcast host David Opie is joined by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers' Director of Strategy and External Relations to discuss the regulator's view of the big issues facing conveyancing. The podcast was initially recorded in the days before the government's home buying and selling reforms consultation with much of the discussion focussing on the risks identified in the CLC's annual Risk Agenda. A key topic is the changing nature of client accounts, prompted by the Solicitors Regulation Authority's consultation. Despite the SRA's confirmation it is not likely to change the operation of client account in the short term, Stephen warns firms not to rely on the current model indefinitely. He confirms the CLC has no immediate plans to mandate alternatives but recognises reduced risk of funds interception in a world where solicitors and conveyancers complete fewer bank transfers; and highlights the current discussions on redirecting interest earned on client accounts toward legal aid funding as in other jurisdictions. Stephen also tackles the recent Mazur litigation ruling which redefines the role of unqualified individuals conducting reserved legal activities. Stephen clarifies that the ruling pertains strictly to litigation and does not affect conveyancing. He is clear, although concedes the wording in the legislation isn't(!), under the Legal Services Act 2007, conveyancing and probate may be performed by non-qualified staff under supervision, a model widely used and fully compliant with current legislation. The conversation covers post-completion, complaints handling, cryptocurrency and AML, auction houses and the future of conveyancing; observing that government legislation is paving the way for initiatives like digital ID verification, conditional contracts, and shared data frameworks; the CLC remains engaged with industry stakeholders to ensure that regulatory infrastructure supports this transformation while safeguarding consumers. The podcast swerves into a brief segue regarding the home buying and selling consultation and separate material information consultation, a whole podcast in itself. Stephen says the CLC welcomes the move which could bring a level of mandation to the process and start to see pressure from home movers through the adoption of material information and service comparisons outlined in the consultation. The Today's Conveyancer podcast can be found on your preferred podcast provider and also at www.todaysconveyancer.co.uk. Subscribe and listen in for all the latest conveyancing industry news and views. Thank you to our podcast sponsors PEXA, SmartSearch and VacantC Legal Recruitment.

Welcome back to 'AI Lawyer Talking Tech.' This week, we examine the massive regulatory and technological currents shaping legal practice. AI adoption is driving unprecedented efficiency, as seen when firms use specialized tools to recover thousands of pounds in outstanding debt in under five minutes or employ agentic AI to transform document processing into strategic decision-making through specialized, collaborative agents. Simultaneously, the legal system faces critical threats to its integrity: deepfake technology can fabricate evidence, such as manipulated audio or forged documents, in high-stakes cases like divorce and custody disputes, while generative AI "hallucinations" introduce phantom cases and invented quotations directly into court filings, exposing lawyers to sanctions and prompting courts to retract decisions. To address these dangers, governing bodies are stepping in; California enacted landmark legislation requiring major AI developers to publicly disclose safety protocols and report critical safety incidents—including dangerous deceptive behavior during testing—and new data protection laws, such as Maryland's MODPA, impose heightened restrictions on processing sensitive personal data and information related to individuals under 18. As legal educators integrate mandatory AI certification into core curricula, we explore how legal professionals are building the necessary tech fluency to govern and leverage these powerful tools.Rosen Law Firm Investigating Disney's Child Privacy Violations2025-09-30 | InvestorsHangout.comCalifornia enacts AI safety law targeting tech giants2025-09-29 | Black Hills PioneerCalifornia enacts AI safety law targeting tech giants2025-09-29 | Fox41Yakima.comGarfield Law shares “£7k in 5 minutes” debt recovery and says Mazur judgment is driving firms to AI2025-09-29 | Legal IT InsiderAI in the Legal Profession2025-09-29 | Bracewell LLPIf Brad Pitt Can Be Deepfaked, So Can Divorce Evidence2025-09-29 | Forbes.comReminder: Maryland Data Protection Law Comes into Effect on October 1st2025-09-29 | JD SupraExploring Innovative Strategies for Law Firm Advancement2025-09-29 | InvestorsHangout.comWhen AI 'Lies': The Legal Risks of Hallucinations2025-09-29 | Wisconsin Lawyer MagazineBigLaw Firms Double Down on AI: New Strategies Aim to Boost Attorney Adoption2025-09-29 | JDJournalLaw Schools Go High-Tech: Mandatory AI Certification Now Part of Legal Education2025-09-29 | JDJournalLife as a lawyer taking on AI-fuelled fraud2025-09-29 | Legal CheekMilbank LLP To Host Call for Unsecured Bondholders of Braskem S.A.2025-09-29 | StockTitan.netUnlocking Blockchain and NFTs: A Deep Dive into Technologies2025-09-29 | InvestorsHangout.comExclusive: Lexroom raises $19M to scale AI-powered legal tech across Europe2025-09-29 | Tech Funding NewsAI-powered fraud detection platform raises £1m - advised by Weightmans2025-09-29 | Insider Media LimitedBoost Your Visibility in AI Search With Our New FAQs AI Optimization Tool2025-09-29 | Legal Marketing & Technology BlogFrom Documents to Decisions: How Agentic AI Is Rewiring Legal Workflows2025-09-29 | Legaltech on MediumIus Laboris and Lewis Silkin partner to launch global employment law guide powered by AI2025-09-29 | Legal Technology News - Legal IT Professionals | Everything legal technologyDiving into Data: Managing the Legal Risks of a Data-Driven Economy2025-09-29 | Stoe Rives LLPPittsburgh Tax Review Symposium, AI in Tax Law: Tax Administration & Educating the Next Generation, October 18, 20252025-09-28 | The Faculty LoungeAI and the IP Legal Landscape: Disruption, Opportunity, and the Path Forward2025-09-28 | Legal Technology News - Legal IT Professionals | Everything legal technologyKarisma Kapoor family battle escalates with children alleging massive £2.52 billion estate accounts wiped while court questions will's validity2025-09-27 | Eastern Eye

Back in 2013.Now, under Steve Yzerman's front office leadership, Detroit hopes that one major offseason swing—a trade for John Gibson—can stabilize their goaltending and finally push them over the edge. Will it be enough?IN THIS EPISODE:[00:00] Red Wings: A decade of frustration[00:36] Power play high, penalty kill worst in the league[01:00] John Gibson acquisition: a franchise-altering gamble?[02:00] Goaltending swap: Gibson for Mrazek[02:45] Other offseason additions: JVR, Appleton, Hamonic[03:50] Prospect pool preview: Danielson, Mazur, Cossa[04:30] Offensive core: DeBrincat, Larkin, Raymond, Kane[05:15] Is there enough depth if someone goes down?[06:00] Playoff competition: Too many contenders, too few spotsKEY TAKEAWAYS:John Gibson is the swing piece. If he returns to form, Detroit may finally have the goaltending they've lacked for years. If not, the playoff drought could hit a full decade.Power play success masked penalty kill disaster. Detroit ranked 4th in PP% last year—but dead last (32nd) in PK%, and had just 2 shorthanded goals.Yzerman's offseason was conservative. Outside of the Gibson trade, additions like James van Riemsdyk, Mason Appleton, and Travis Hamonic won't move the needle significantly.Detroit's window is tightening. With the East getting deeper (Montreal, Ottawa, Columbus, Buffalo all fighting), the margin for error is razor thin.Offensive leaders like Dylan Larkin, DeBrincat, Lucas Raymond, and Patrick Kane must stay healthy—this team can't afford to lose top-end scoring.FINAL VERDICT:Detroit made one major move this offseason—and if John Gibson plays like the All-Star he once was, it could be a franchise-defining deal. But with penalty-kill woes, aging secondary scoring, and intense wild card competition, the Red Wings remain a bubble team in a crowded East.Is year 10 of the rebuild the one that finally breaks the curse—or does the streak stretch into double digits?RESOURCE LINKS:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgBj1LV0-DMfBhcRPSJZLjAX (Twitter): https://twitter.com/NHLWraparoundNeil Smith: https://twitter.com/NYCNeilVic Morren: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vic-morren-7038737/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nhlwraparound/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@nhlwraparoundFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555451139787HASHTAGS:#DetroitRedWings #NHLWraparound #SummerCoolers #JohnGibson #PetrMrazek #JamesvanRiemsdyk #MasonAppleton #WilliamLagesson #AlbertJohansson #JonatanBerggren #ElmerSoderblom #SteveYzerman #VladimirTarasenko #AlexLyon #PatVerbeek #LucasRaymond #AlexDebrincat #DylanLarkin

This week, Ash is joined by Allie Mazur, the founder of Beyond Herpes, for a deeply moving and empowering conversation about navigating life with genital herpes, redefining self-worth, and cultivating healthy relationships through vulnerability and truth. Allie shares her personal experience of contracting HSV-1 genitally at 23, a time when her values, identity, and sense of belonging were turned upside down. Through heartbreak, fear, and silence, she found the courage to speak out and build a global platform dedicated to dismantling shame, educating others, and showing that life after diagnosis can be full of connection, intimacy, and joy. But the episode goes far beyond herpes. Ash and Allie dive into the emotional weight of societal stigma, the nuances of disclosure, and the path toward radical self-acceptance. From navigating dating with authenticity to breaking toxic relationship cycles, Allie offers tools that can transform not only your relationship with your body but also your approach to communication, intimacy, and empowerment. If you've ever struggled with shame, feared rejection, or felt alone in your health journey, this episode will remind you of your strength, your voice, and your right to love and be loved, just as you are. In This Episode, You'll Learn: How Allie turned a life-altering diagnosis into a movement of empowerment and education. The truth about HSV-1 and HSV-2, and how common herpes actually is. How to navigate herpes disclosures with potential partners with confidence and clarity. Strategies for managing outbreaks, reducing triggers, and supporting your immune system naturally. Harvard physics Professor Eric Mazur developed Peer Instruction in the early 90s, after noticing that many of his students weren't deeply understanding concepts despite performing well on traditional exams. Tony Mazur and Chad Zumock used to do a weekly podcast called Mondays with Mazur, but as is the case in life, schedules change and the weekly hit couldn't be met. However, they are resurrecting the show with a monthly themed episode, and this week featured terrible old TV promos and crossovers from the 1980s. Halfway through, comedian Dave Landau calls in for a quick chat. Be sure to subscribe to Tony's Patreon. $3 gets you just audio, $5 gets video AND audio, and $10 has all of the above, as well as bonus podcasts per week.

With the Detroit Red Wings season post-mortem well-documented, we take a look at what Steve Yzerman's top priority should be for Hockeytown this offseason: getting scoring help for Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane, and Marco Kasper in the form of Marner, Ehlers, Bennett, or Marchand? Defensive support for Mortiz Seider, Simon Edvinsson, and Albert Johansson by way of Gavrikov? Goaltending solution other than Talbot or Mrazek? (4:30) We also take a look at Isaac Howard of the Tampa Bay Lightning and whether he would be worth trading for, or if Danielson, Brandsegg-Nygard, Mazur or others are the solution for the Detroit Red Wings (16:15). Next, a Stanley Cup Playoffs update, including Mikko Rantanen's incredible Game 7 revenge performance, Hellebuyck and the Jets' unexpected goalie issue, Marner and the Leafs beating Tkachuk and the Senators, McDavid, Draisaitl and the Oilers beating the Kings again, the Capitals dispatching Lane Hutson's Canadiens, and Tkachuk and the Panthers making easy work of Vasilevskiy and the Lightning (29:45). After that, a U18 IIFH tournament recap and preview of the NHL Draft Lottery (46:55) before our 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile on Brady Martin: is he a Marco Kasper clone and "Yzerman's type"? No matter what, it always feels good to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tune in as we open by discussing the Detroit Red Wings and their two most recent games: a horrendous performance where Scott Laughton & Matvei Michkov danced around Derek Lalonde's squad despite Cam Talbot's best efforts (and a late Ben Chiarot goal), whether Sebastian Cossa would've made a difference, & John Tortorella & The Michigan (4:50), as well as a 4-2 win in Detroit over Matthews, Marner, & the Leafs, including Jack Campbell being called up to back up Ville Husso's 1st win of the season, Jeff Petry scoring twice (one being given to Rasmussen retroactively), Moritz Seider banging home a nice play from Andrew Copp and Patrick Kane, Berggren's ill-advised cross-check, offside reviews, Lucas Raymond sealing the game, & more (13:35)! After that, we analyze the usage of Moritz Seider and Simon Edvinsson, how it signals that Steve Yzerman may only be a couple moves away from making this team a lot better, how Dylan Larkin, Alex DeBrincat, & others fit into that timeline, & more positive outlooks (27:55). Also, prospect updates on Kiiskinen, Mazur, Plante, & others (38:15) before jumping into NHL news including the Fowler trade, Blackwood trade, Trevor Zegras' injury & availability, & plenty more (39:45) before we take your questions & comments in our Overtime segment (50:45) - enjoy!
