Will anything change after an abysmal showing against San Jose? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the Galaxy's 1-0 loss against San Jose and why the biggest players decided to tank the Galaxy's game plan. What can Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec do to ensure this never happens again? But while the draw was entertaining, and the play inspiring, it wasn't enough for the organization to feel immediately justified with Greg Vanney's contract extension. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter go deep on the Galaxy's El Trafico draw -- looking at Marco Reus, Lucas Sanabria, Edwin Cerrillo, and more -- and also dive into the complex issues at hand for the Galaxy's contract extension to Vanney. Josh and Kevin will dig their heels in as they try to find the reasoning for the Galaxy's faith in Vanney and what that means for the rest of the season. Will Vanney escape this winless hell he's currently suffering through? And which side do you fall on? Are you for keeping Vanney or making him win some games first? The LA Galaxy are finding new ways to lose, and it's still utterly heartbreaking. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira will absolutely point out some of the good spots from the Galaxy and how Marco Reus as the false nine really led to a dangerous offensive side for the first time this year. But the second half started badly and ended even worse. Will Greg Vanney have to shoulder the blame alone? And will he be around long enough to get through the rivalry gauntlet the Galaxy are riding? Remember, the schedule gets ridiculously hard when your team is in 30th place. Is there redemption for El Trafico? After a 1-0 loss to Sporting KC on Sunday -- a game in which the Galaxy didn't allow a single shot from their opponents -- the club is searching for answers. And some of those answers may come from a contract negotiation that isn't going well. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 11-game winless streak, what the Galaxy can expect from the next three games, and why some decisions are going to have to be made by the club despite possibly losing all three DP's for the next couple of matches. The winless streak is historic. The game on Sunday was historic for similar reasons. But can we look at this team and call them bad? Yes. Because the standings say so. But here the LA Galaxy are after another frustrating loss to Austin on Saturday morning. And there doesn't seem to be much to save them as they flirt with playing shorthanded again this weekend. On today's show, host Josh Guesman discusses his feelings on the game and why the Galaxy did almost enough to win. The only thing missing was the winning part. On this week's episode, Mike and Dan reflect on Brentford's 4-2 win over Brighton. To keep our faint hopes of European football alive, the game against the Seagulls was a must-win, and Thomas Frank's side duly obliged. A brace from Bryan Mbeumo - taking his tally to 18 for the season - along with goals from Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard took Brentford onto 46 points, and ensured we remained within touching distance of the teams above us. We chat about the impending run-in, Bryan's masterful performance, and look ahead to another crucial game against Champions League chasing Nottingham Forest. Learn more about your ad choices. The Philadelphia Union fell to NYCFC by a score of 1-0, leaving the Union winless in four of their last five games. The biggest storyline from the game was Andre Blake's absence from the matchday squad due to an adductor injury, which meant Andrew Rick started his second game of the season. Todd discusses his thoughts on the game, covering topics including: the attack's recent struggles, a costly defensive mistake by another Union centerback, and the Union's current winless run. Finally, Todd ends the show with Blunder of the Week, awarded to Kylian Mbappé for his tackle on Alavés' Antonio Blanco. For the Glory KC is back with the 127th episode of the show! Our long national nightmare is over! Sporting Kansas City have finally won a game. New interim coach Kerry Zavagnin is a perfect 1-0-0 and he got the best of Sporting KC's rival, St. Louis City SC. It put an exclamation point at the end of a tumultuous and emotional week for anyone in and around Sporting KC.Sheena and I work through the big moments of the game. From our pre-game emotions and expectations to Dejan Joveljic's breakout performance. We also talked about John Pulskamp stepping up on the night Tim Melia retired. There were post-game antics with Jake Davis and the St. Louis players as well as Jansen Miller shushing the road support. Considering he's from STL, it's even more endearing to local fans. The week wouldn't be complete without going back and reflecting on all the change and the news we got from Mike Illig and Kerry Zavagnin's pressers. Weaved into that conversation is a mini dive into my editorial about how ownership may have still botched the Peter Vermes firing. We honor Tim Melia on the week of his retirement (listen to Thad's exclusive podcast with Melia) and discuss a trade that snuck under the radar potentially for Sporting KC fans. Finally, the KC Current had the week off, but still made a bit of news on the international front and with five (!!) of the 11 players of the month coming from KC: LaBonta, Temwa, Cook, Debinha and Lorena. In the Digital Crawl, we touch on a few more topics, including:The future of the Women's World Cup (USA & UK)The Des Moines Menace being bounced from the US Open CupAnd FC 25 jersey updates for SKC and the CurrentHere is a rundown of topics (and approximate start times):Sporting KC finally win, and soccer is fun again! - 6:46Mike Illig and Kerry Zavagnin pressers - 40:19SKC Round-up - 1:08:33KC Current Round-up - 1:13:44Digital Crawl - 1:16:04Upcoming GamesUSA vs. Brazil, Tues. (00:00) Zolak and Bertrand begin hour 2 taking calls on the Joe Milton trade. McKone says players need to understand their roles. Zolak defends Milton, stating he’s not a bad attitude guy and highlights fragile egos in the league. He also recalls how bad the QB room was when it was Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones. (12:37) The guys discuss Josh McDaniels saying he's "smitten" with Drake Maye. Zolak suggests McDaniels must be excited to work with him. Beetle says if the offense struggles, McDaniels should take all the blame and asks if the Patriots will have a top 10 offense this season. (26:13) Zolak and Bertrand thank the fans who made the trip to Lucky Strike to see them and take more calls on the Joe Milton trade. Beetle points out that the NFL's lack of interest in Milton after he was a 6th-round pick should have been a sign no one wanted him. Zolak adds that neither Drake Maye nor Milton would be able to help each other. (36:45) The guys discuss the Bruins' 10-game losing streak and their current position with the 4th best odds for the #1 pick in the draft. Beetle says they need to ensure they keep losing to maintain their draft position. McKone adds that the Bruins make losing look easy. T-Bone gives his win/loss predictions for the Bruins' upcoming games.

For both of us, we don't think Connor Bedard is ready to be a captain. Nothing against this kid but we think it should be someone else. The Big Number this week looks at the spectacular season being had by Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. Could the Greek Freak finish 3rd in the MVP race, despite how disappointing the team has been? Tom Haberstroh and Dan Devine reveal that Giannis is putting up numbers that we've never seen before, but no one is talking about it. That probably has something to do with the Bucks being WINLESS against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder this season. For the Glory KC is back with the 121st episode of the show!Sporting Kansas City had another poor week with two more games played and two more losses. Sheena and I try to work through if the team is truly bad or if it's a combination of a lot of other factors. Sporting KC did play four games in 11 days, and two of the games were against Inter Miami who are loaded with stars. The team also just signed three of its more critical offseason additions in Dejan Joveljic, Manu Garcia and Shapi Suleymanov. Their chemistry will take time. The good news with 32 games to go there is very little congestion the rest of the way for Sporting KC. That excuse will mostly vanish and SKC just to start talking steps in the right direction. We worked our way through the bad and the good from both games, with a greater focus on the 2-1 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes. The discussion really started around the lack of rotation, despite the short rest between the 3-1 loss to Inter Miami and the SJ game. The tired legs really seemed to be a problem, despite being up a man for over 40 minutes. The CONCACAF Champions Cup game with Miami didn't get much time this episode since no one really expected KC to advance when the game was announced. That said, we had to talk about the defensive blunders that ended the first half. There was plenty of other SKC news this week too. William Agada was rumored to be part of a trade with Real Salt Lake. Benny Feilhaber popped up in a UMKC/SKC II game as a guest player and gave us a hint about his future. Andreu Fontas retired officially. Sebastian Cruz found a new home. This week Sam, Chris and Andrés look at a round of league action that saw Vélez Sarsfield lose again and Tigre and Central Córdoba continue their unexpectedly bright starts to the season. Both Boca Juniors and River Plate claimed narrow victories, though Boca's Libertadores playoff first leg away to Alianza Lima ended in defeat on Wednesday. And what on earth is Foster Gillett up to?
Rocket cars stay winless, and it's starting to bum me out. Young guys shine with USAC at Volusia, POWRi closes out their winged 410 roster, and I've got an update on injured driver Chase Johnson.
If at first you don't succeed, brush yourself off and lose again. That's exactly what NC State did on Wednesday with its second straight collapse in Virginia, this time coming in a 79-76 loss to a bad Virginia Tech team. The Wolfpack led by more than two touchdowns again but couldn't find shots late as the Hokies stormed back with a 9-0 run in the final 2:47 of play to hand the Pack another crushing loss on the young season. Cory Smith and Charlie Gribble discuss the Wolfpack's third straight road loss in ACC play and move to 0-4 on the road and 0-6 away from the Lenovo Center. The guys will break down the strong start to the game, the struggles defending the 3-pointer all night long, how the Hokies got back in the game and the epic collapse in the final minutes that led to another State loss. Watch or listen to the postgame podcast to get all that and more.

Vegas completes the season sweep over San Jose as Ryan Warsofsky defends his choice to start Alexandar Georgiev. The Sharks also failed to make Kevin Stenlund pay for past transgressions, while Marc-André Fleury's likely last game at SAP capped off a winless week. Also occurring this week were season-ending questions about Logan Couture, the curious absence of Marc-Édouard Vlasic, and another Celebrini jersey sells for over $10,000. We also talk about odd coincidences between NHL team names and disasters, the NHL sharing positive numbers while ignoring ratings, the state of Florida getting 2 outdoor games next season, adding series scheduling to the NHL, and when it's okay to grade a draft. Meanwhile, Andrew Poturalski goes off in game 1 against Bakersfield while in game 2, San Jose would blow a 3 goal lead and lose in OT. Georgiev only allows 3 goals in 4-2 loss to Golden Knights San Jose lacks response in 2-1 loss in Utah Fleury stops 36 of 37 in 3-1 loss to the Wild Is Couture LTIRetired? Where's Vlasic?
