Richard Sherman reacts to the Monday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions in Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season. Geno Smith and Kenneth Walker III had big games on the offensive side of the ball, but the Seahawks defense got carved up by Jared Goff's historically perfect performance. Will Seattle's defense hold the team back from contention? Richard also reacts to Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens blowing out the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, explains why he still believes in Josh Allen to lead Buffalo this season, breaks down Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders' chances of winning the NFC East over the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, and previews the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons on Prime Video. #volume #herdSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Two teams folded (for now). One team packed up and relocated to the sunny hills of L.A. Another new team in the Queen City with a focus on young American MLR minutes. After Glendale came and went, followed by Gilly-Gate, did anyone actually think the MLR Front Office timeline could get any wackier? Yet here we are. Year 7 loading and the shield has never looked shinier. With World Rugby's decision to financially back Anthem Rugby Carolinas, we've been tapped as the rugby union of the future (fingers crossed it will all work out). Will the 2031 RWC be a smashing success, or will gigantic stadiums be left under attended? We've got seven more years to get it as supercharged as we can before we host the pinnacle event. With seven years in, and seven to go ... how will MLR shake out in a pivotal year? The men's Eagles have to begin a winning form heading into future RWC Qualifiers. The only way to do that is to have a thriving domestic comp to select the best players from. As of now, all teams have enough talent to win games. Charlotte, Miami and LA may have a learning curve being fresh-out-the-box franchises, but there's no doubt all three clubs will win big games throughout the season. So the ultimate question is ... who will rise up and hoist the shield come August 3rd at Snap Dragon Stadium in San Diego? Can New England repeat and defend their crown? Can the Legion return to the final and win in front of a home crowd? Will Seattle become the first franchise to win three titles ... (and does that count as a dynasty?) Depth is always a factor leading into playoffs ... Who is healthy at the right time? With 16 game regular season, followed up with 3 rounds of knock out rugby, which squads will have the player depth to see it through? The regular season ends June 29th, and the PLAYOFFS?! begin THREE WHOLE WEEKS LATER. Yes, this is to accommodate the summer test rugby window .... but we've never seen a break like this in any major sports league heading into the knockout rounds. Will this elongated break allow teams to get healthier, and will that result in more appealing QF matchups? Or will the fans' summer attentions spans dwindle and result in poor attendances? Knowing the average temps throughout the US in late July, we don't need Paris Hilton to tell us "That's Hot". We know the hardcore fans will ride and die in blistering temps for a home knockout game, but will the casuals fans show up? After all, if we want to fill our stadiums come RWC 2031, it's the Casuals that we need to be winning over. With a balanced 12 team league, the fans will be happy to absorb all the rugby we can each week. Six games a weekend ain't bad. Maybe shedding wavering investors like snake skin will be good for the league in the long-term. Until 2031 arrives, we'll still be holding our breath every off-season when the capital calls are due. In the meantime, the show goes on... PICKEM!
Wemby is coming into his own. Will Seattle resign Geno Smith? Worst Day on the Web!!! The hour ends with a great cause!
Should Jalen Hurts Win MVP? What is the plan for the Panthers? Can the 49ers knock off the Eagles? Will Seattle get right against Dallas? How legit are the Denver Broncos? Matt, Blaiden, and Theo have all the answers on today's episode of Stay Hot presented by Little Caesars!
Fall is on the way and so is the latest podcast as I pack a lot of punch when it comes to the sports universe in a short amount of time. On deck: (2:40) The MLB season is down to its final ten games. You've got a few things cooking in baseball with the NL Wild Card race, the AL West, as well as, the AL Wild Card. Who will make it into the dance? Will Seattle, Texas or even Houston be on the outside looking in when it's all said and done? Which team will secure the final spot in the NL? I'll look into my crystal ball to see how this'll all shake down as we get into the penultimate weekend of the regular season. Also, Shohei Ohtani got his right elbow surgically repaired as he'll enter free agency this offseason. He'll DH next year and toe the rubber in 2025. Is he worth the $500 million dollar price tag that he's expected to receive? (22:15) NFL Week 3 doesn't have a lot of sexy matchups, but there are a few games that'll, in essence, look like early playoff games. First up is Rams-Bengals. I have a theory about Joe Burrow's nagging calf injury. Patriots-Jets, which is more meaningful for the Jets because of the spell coach Bill Belichick has cast over his old team. Chargers-Vikings, both 0-2 and need a win bad. Same for the 0-2 Broncos as they head to unbeaten Miami. I'll touch on this past Monday's Browns-Steelers game. The loss of Nick Chubb, the ineffective and regression of Deshaun Watson and the Steelers offensive offense. (33:10) There are a few games on the college football circuit that have a lot of intrigue. Florida Stata will visit Clemson to start us off at 12 noon. We'll get to see Deion Sanders's Colorado Buffaloes play some stiff competition as they'll face the Ducks in Oregon. Alabama will host Ole Miss. What about Ohio State vs. Notre Dame? Oregon State vs. Washington State. Plenty of big games to chew on as Week 4 is on the horizon. Rich Hribar and Dan Pizzuta give their final thoughts on the NFL Draft for their last Sharp Angles podcast before Draft Day. First they breakdown Deebo Samuel requesting a trade from the 49ers. They analyze how the booming wide receiver market influenced his decision. But is this more driven by Deebo or the 49ers? Rich and Dan dive into Deebo's role in San Francisco. Are the 49ers concerned about Deebo's injury history? Will the 49ers pay or trade Deebo? Which team should trade for Deebo Samuel? They breakdown how the Chiefs, Jets, Colts, Bears, Chargers and Eagles could trade for him. They analyze the wide receiver market and the crazy contracts that got signed over the 2022 NFL Offseason. Will Seattle trade DK Metcalf? Then they get into the NFL Draft. Dan gives his final thoughts on the QBs in the draft and their shortcomings. Is it Malik Willis or nothing? Is Kenny Pickett the next Johnny Manziel? Was Jordan Addison carrying him at Pitt like Mike Evans did at Texas A&M? Which teams will draft a QB? How many QBs will go in the first round? Last, they give their final NFL Draft predictions and hot takes.
After trading Russell Wilson to the Broncos, we should expect the Seahawks to focus on building a dominant run game. But with Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny's injury history, it shouldn't be out of the question for Seattle to draft running back early this year. How early though? EJ Snyder of Bootleg Football joins the show and says the expectation is that no running backs get drafted in the first round. Will Seattle be able to take their favorite from this class? We talk about EJ's favorite three backs as well as some players farther down the draft board. Seahawks fans, welcome in to the Seahawks Playbook Podcast! Your weekly Seahawks show featuring Hosts Bill Alvstad and Keith Myers as we get you all caught up with team news and talk Seahawks football. Up this week, we finally played actual honest to goodness professional football. Not only did we play, we played extremely well in the first game of the season vs the Atlanta Falcons, winning handily by a score of 38 to 25. The defense had a solid outing highlighted by the exemplary play of new Seahawks Safety, Jamal Adams. The real damage was done on the offense, led by all-pro, and the NFL's Offensive Player of the Week, Russell Wilson, who had one of his most efficient and best games as a pro. Wilson completed 31/35 passes for 322 yards, 4 TD's and a passer rating of 143.1. Wilson became just the second quarterback in league history to throw at least 35 passes, complete at least 30 of those, have over 300 yards and have at least 4 touchdowns. (Drew Brees, 2011 vs Ind.) It was a great way to kick off the 2020 season and Bill and Keith recap the highlights. We also preview week two's contest against the New England Patriots. This contest features the two oldest, and best coaches in the league in Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll. The combined age of the two coaches is 137 years and 162 days. The oldest combined age for any coached game in NFL history! Crazy. The game will also feature a contest between Russell Wilson and Cam Newton, whom the Patriots signed this off-season to take over the QB spot vacated by Tom Brady. New England likes to feature the ground game, with Cam Newton rushing 15 times in the first week. Will Seattle opt to run the ball more aggressively this week and stay away from the strength of the Patriots roster, their secondary? Time will tell, but Both Keith and Bill have the Seahawks taking this home opener in Seattle. Go Hawks!

Eduardo and Brett are so baffled at how wearing or not wearing face masks have become politicized. Nothing like a Plandemic (just kidding to all you serious folx) during an election year to keep us fighting. But seriously, wearing a face mask is one of the simplest, most considerate things you can do for your neighbors and your friends who are small business owners, workers, teachers or just people trying to make ends meet during an economic crisis. We have opinions that must be heard. We also address the Cancel Culture. You are hereby warned that if you do or say anything stupid ever that happens to be caught on video either by yourself or someone else, the cancel culture minions are waiting in the alleys of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to strike. They smell blood and sense fear a mile away. Prepare to lose your job, scholarship or any other exciting opportunity that awaits. You’ve been cancelled by tens of thousands of college aged children with middle school mentalities and maturity. Loser. The arrest of Jeffery Epstein’s right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell was a complete surprise. Victims finally get another chance at justice but will it happen? With how many powerful, rich and connected people involved, Brett isn’t holding his breath. Eduardo even has his own theories about whether or not she goes out the same way as Jeffrey Epstein. Brett explains the beef between Seattle city mayor, Jenny Durkan and City Councilmember, Kshama Sawant. This is no typical disagreement. This is war. This story is full of controversy, hypocrisy, irony and karma. Will the mayor be recalled? Will she be forced to resign? Will the councilmember get investigated? Will she be kicked out of her position? And what about CHAZ? Brett thought Eddie’s mind was going to explode with all the dirty details being shared.Enjoy. Speaking of CHAZ, and Seattle in general – There are now two federal lawsuits against the City and one lawsuit filed in King County Superior Court against the City as well. Will Seattle have ANY money left after all these lawsuits? Eduardo lets us all know that the experimental game streaming platform, Mixer is RIP. Oh but he sheds light on a story about the Microsoft owned company that we’re sure people don’t want you to hear. Eddie had grown a nice following on Mixer but things change and people adapt. He shares his future plans in gaming. We all know Will Smith likes to get Jiggy with it but does he get jiggy with an open marriage? Word on the web is that Will and Jada have a life long partnership that allows the couple to have “connections” with other people. Eduardo is waiting ever so patiently for Jada to clear the rumors on her Red Table Talk. Well, well, well, well. Brett just so happens to have a friend who is in a similar position and spills the tea. Be sure to follow Eduardo on twitch.tv/maggpack and Brett’s blog @K1Experience.com. Will Seattle move away from playing so much base defense in 2020? Jake and Stacy hear from Pete Carroll who says that might be the case. Later, Jake is frustrated because he fears the mistakes they made in Marquise Blair's rookie season could be repeated with Jordyn Brooks. Mariners Insider Shannon Drayer stops by to close out the hour. She gives the gang her instant reaction to the latest MLB owners proposal as well as the Mariners' 2020 draft class.
Germain Ifedi has signed a one-year deal with the Bears. Will Seattle regret not re-signing him? We ask Gregg Bell of The News Tribune. Rob Manfred says there will be basebal this year. Now, what will that look like? George Karl has taken this tme to go back and watch the 1994 Nuggets - Sonics series. It feels unimagineable to watch the worst moments of your career, even 25 years later.
