In this episode, Chris welcomes Ray from the “Fans Without Borders”, “DCTV Squadcast”, and “The FliteCast” podcasts to look at one of his favorite comic books, “Cosmic Odyssey”.  Jim Starlin and Mike Mignola craft a tale where the universe’s greatest heroes must form an alliance with their deadliest enemy in order to stop a force that threatens to destroy all of existence!  Since time immemorial, the forces of New Genesis and Apokolips have stood at odds for control over the universe. Nothing less than the threat of total cosmic destruction could forge an alliance between Highfather and Darkseid...but that time has come.  Metron has at last unlocked the secret of the mysterious Anti-Life Equation, the very meaning of life itself...throwing the fate of the entire universe into question. The only chance for salvation is a hastily assembled team of the universe's greatest heroes, consisting of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Starfire, Orion and others...operating under the joint supervision of Highfather and Darkseid. **Reminder: WFTB joins the "Geek Ultimate Alliance" network effective June 3rd.  Search and subscribe to the "Geek Ultimate Alliance" on your pod catcher of choice right now so you are ready for the next new episode.** Ray on Twitter: @TheFliteCast Fans Without Borders on Twitter: @borderlessfans DCTV Squadcast: @DCTVSquadcast Fans Without Borders: https://www.suicidesquadcast.com/fanswithoutborders Marvel Squadcast: https://www.suicidesquadcast.com/dctvsquadcast The Flitecast: http://www.theflitecast.com WFTB on Twitter: @FinestBelievers WFTB Email: worldsfinesttruebelievers@gmail.com Chris on Twitter: @ChrisBalga

I was going to spend the rest of my life with her." What Peter Parker didn't know was that meant Gwen Stacy would only get to spend the rest of her life with him. This is the story of how they fell in love. Or more appropriately, how they almost didn't fall in love. Welcome to Spider-Man's life. Bad before good. It's kind of amazing.  So to get the girl of his dreams, he'll have to run the gauntlet of the Green Goblin, the Rhino, two Vultures and a mysterious man in the shadows controlling it all. Join the Eisner Award-winning team of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale in the story about Peter Parker's first love, Gwen Stacy. In this episode, Chris welcomes back Tim from the “Please Rewind: The RF4RM Retro Movie Show” and the “Anything Goes Podcast” to discuss another one of his favorite graphic novels, “Dark Night: A True Batman Story”.  This is a Batman story like no other—the harrowing and eloquent autobiographical tale of writer Paul Dini’s courageous struggle to overcome a desperate situation with Eduardo Risso providing his outstanding artwork to bring Dini's story to life.  The Caped Crusader has been the all-abiding icon of justice and authority for generations. But in this surprising original graphic novel, we see Batman in a new light—as the savior who helps a discouraged man recover from a brutal attack that left him unable to face the world. In the 1990s, legendary writer Paul Dini had a flourishing career writing the hugely popular Batman: The Animated Series and Tiny Toon Adventures. Walking home one evening, he was jumped and viciously beaten within an inch of his life. His recovery process was arduous, hampered by the imagined antics of the villains he was writing for television including the Joker, Harley Quinn and the Penguin. But despite how bleak his circumstances were, or perhaps because of it, Dini also always imagined the Batman at his side, chivvying him along during his darkest moments. Tim on Twitter: @TimothyRooney2 Please Rewind: The RF4RM Retro Movie Show: http://pleaserewindrf4rm.libsyn.com Please Rewind: The RF4RM Retro Movie Show on Twitter: @RewindRF4RM The Anything Goes Podcast on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheAnythingGoesPodcast/ WFTB on Twitter: @FinestBelievers WFTB Email: worldsfinesttruebelievers@gmail.com Chris on Twitter: @ChrisBalga
