In this episode Brynn and I listen to a very rare lecture from one of the greatest philosophical and psychedelic minds of the 20th century...Aldous Huxley. Aldous talks about the different ways the visionary experience has manifested for humans throughout the centuries, and how these experiences can help us. Listen In! Aldous Huxley Bio:Aldous Leonard Huxley was born in Godalming on 26th July, 1894 in an upper scale family. He came from a literary background, his father also being a biographer, editor and poet. Huxley was educated at Eton College in Berkshire from 1908-1913. When he was just fourteen years old, his mother died. During his teenage years, he also suffered from an attack of Keratitis Punctata and thus became blind for about eighteen months, but then by wearing some special kind of glasses, he was able to recover his eye-sight a little and at least read, but consequently also learned Braille. Even though he had frequent conditions of near blindness, Huxley went on relentlessly with his studies at Balliol College in Oxford, where he received his B.A in English. He was confused whether to pursue his career as a scientist or take part in the World War. Since, he was unable to decide, he took up writing. He wrote several poems, which appeared in 1916 and the second volume, which appeared in 1920. Huxley’s novel, Crome Yellow came in 1921, which blended criticism, dialogue, wit and satire and also established Huxley as one of the most important literary authors of the decade. Within a period of 8 years, Huxley had written several books. Amongst these novels, the most notable ones are Point Counter Point published in 1928 and Do What You Will published in 1929.At this time, Huxley became involved in the study and practice of mysticism. His new philosophical outlook informed his novel Eyeless in Gaza (1936), which promoted pacifism on the eve of World War II.After Many a Summer Dies the Swan (1939) makes the case for the emptiness of materialism. Gradually, Huxley moved toward mystical writings, far from the tone of his early satire. The Perennial Philosophy(1945) and The Doors of Perception (1954) represent Huxley’s non-fictional expression of his interests, including even experimentation with psychedelic drugs. The Doors of Perception is a book by Aldous Huxley. Published in 1954, it elaborates on his psychedelic experience under the influence of mescaline in May 1953. Huxley recalls the insights he experienced, ranging from the "purely aesthetic" to "sacramental vision", and reflects on their philosophical and psychological implicationsHuxley’s last novel, Island (1962), returns to the theme of the future he once explored so memorably in Brave New World. The later novel, in which Huxley tried to create a positive vision of the future, failed to come up to readers’ expectations. Brave New World Revisited, a series of essays addressing the themes of his early novel, represents a more successful rethinking of future (and present) social challenges.Huxley died of cancer in California on November 22, 1963. As I write this we are at the start of January and there are diets and juice cleanses flying around all over the place. There on our social media, in adverts and in practically 90% of every conversation we have with someone. I use to BE one of those people who was always on a diet in January. I would have binged and then practically force-fed myself over the Christmas period with the knowledge and promise that I would be “sorting it out” in January. After MANY years of “failing” within the first few weeks and then deciding to just give up chocolate for lent instead – which starts around Easter – I finally learnt how to free myself from binge eating (and dieting – they go hand in hand) and to build healthy habits that supported my goals instead. I had to let go of the black or white mentality which was super hard for me but with the help and support of my coach I did it! It wasn’t until I allowed myself to flirt around in the grey area (the colourful area I like to call it!) of life in general – including food and exercise – was I able to fully embrace the sustainability that comes from building healthy habits with a balanced mindset. I’m going to share with you 7 simple steps (most of the time all we actually need is simplicity but we always like to overcomplicate things) to “stick” to healthy habits so that you can reap the benefits of them without having to start again every January or every Monday! Ok, lets gooooo... Work with me: https://victoriakleinsman.com/work-with-me/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/victoria-kleinsman/message

Rebecca White is Aja Nepenthe. An expert online dating coach and creator of Aja Nepenthe, the cutting edge way to date safely in a modern world. Her commitment to creating an optimal and safe dating experience is her life’s work. It is Rebecca’s personal experience and expertise that makes her strive to ensure each of her clients receives the customized and personal attention they need to be successful and safe in finding the love they deserve and desire. Rebecca is a lover of Asian studies and travel, hosting pool parties for friends and fussing over her gorgeous daughter and Alaskan Malamute. From Confusion to Confidence as Rebecca shares her story. So there I was, after 18 years of a committed relationship, alone and wondering how to date again. Everything had changed since my 20s. Hell, I don’t think I even had a Facebook account back then. Much less a smartphone with apps. Going out with my girlfriends wasn’t productive at all. Nor, as a single mom, did I have the time. So how DO people meet each other now? At the suggestion of single friends, I tried all the dating apps. The responses I got were overwhelming and some were disturbing. Some turned out to be fakes/scams. It was a jungle out there. After MANY mistakes, rejections and just plain creepy interactions, I got frustrated and gave up. I took some time to go over my approach, my mistakes and most importantly applied what I’d learned in my background with cybersecurity and domestic violence advocacy and came up with a better, safer approach. I chose one app that felt right for me, applied my new approach in structuring my profile to attract the right people and help me weed out the wrong ones. Most importantly, I applied safety measures to maintain control over my privacy and keep me safe when meeting people for first dates. And it worked. I had control over my inbox, which, while it had fewer messages, they were from people of quality who shared common interests and goals. If they didn’t respect my boundaries, they were out. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I felt in control and most importantly, that I was keeping myself and my family safe. I finally met a man who respected all my boundaries, went at my pace and treated me as I deserved to be treated. I was finally getting my needs fulfilled after decades of feeling neglected. It was a revelation. I decided I needed to share these methods with other women who also were finding themselves thrust into a totally new dating world after years of a committed relationship. I wanted to help them avoid all the mistakes I made. And most of all, I wanted to help keep them and their families safe! With the help of some friends and a great mentor, I developed a program to lead women from that first moment of confusion to a place of confidence and control without having to go through what I did. In just a few weeks, we can get there together. Just consider me that sassy friend that tells you “Oh girl, no. Don’t do that. Do this instead”. I’ll help you pick the apps that suit you, set up a profile that gets the results you want, learn to navigate chatting online, get to and through that first date safely and confidently. And I am available after the first step for help navigating new relationships to get your needs fulfilled or help you decide if you need to move on. I am here to help you get what you want and need with me to expertly guide you every step of the way. Earlier this week baseball surprisingly made an announcement that games will begin in July. After MANY too-public negotiations and hand-wringing, we have to ask (as do many others) did the sport hurt itself? Joe flies solo today with our friends on Facebook who have many (great) answers!
Previous Episode 805 I’ve always been a sensitive being, ever since I was a kid, I would be devastated if someone was treated poorly or thought poorly of themselves. I could not understand why people couldn’t see the the magic that resided within them. Most poignantly, I felt this most deeply, when I experienced the death of two dear friends that never received what they most longed for in life, to be loved and accepted, never understanding they were the key to access it all. Being a sensitive soul, as I am sure you can imagine (or perhaps can relate), I too struggled. I was bullied horribly in school and at home, and as a result became so seperated from the understanding of my value and who I was, that I became deeply challenged in my ability to connect with others in any way that honored me. My coping mechanism was perfectionism and people pleasing - not a good combo. Which resulted in years of making choices that did not reflect the aunthentic nature of who I was, or my innate value. After MANY shitty relationships, which included unhealthy ones with my body, my feminine nature, sex, and people in general; partnered with the cataclysmic life event of losing my beloved mother, I unwittingly (and not so gracefully) began my journey back home to myself. I began to look within instead of without. I reconnected with that sensitive little girl that had been doing her utmost to keep me safe amidst a treasure trove of self limiting beliefs and poor life choices as proof that I wasn’t good enough, and let her off the hook. As my awareness grew, I made the brave and conscious choice to dive into my own proverbial deep end, to start doing the loving work of clearing and cleaning up what had been keeping me from the truth of mySelf. That I am worthy and capable of giving and receiving great love. Now, I am no longer devastated when I witness others not loving and valuing themselves, because now, I can help. My first loving reminder to you… your path back home to you has been there all along. Let me show you the way. Like many software users, it’s a good bet that you received a lot of pop-up messages or emails telling you that you had to log in to various sites and read a number of new statements and provide Consent to companies to let you use their services. If that’s how it seemed, you are not alone, there was indeed a lot of that, and it was for a very specific purpose. After Many of 2018, individuals and companies doing business with or using data belonging to anyone residing in the European Union had to, by law, make it clear that users had rights concerning how their data was being used and that they had choices as to what they could do about it. These changes are called The General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR and is now law regarding data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). On today’s show, we welcome Daniel Leigh who helps us understand GDPR a little better, what the ramifications of these new laws are, what they mean to companies doing business in or dealing with data relating to anyone residing in the EU, what they mean for software development and data protection and privacy, and how software testers can help make a difference in this new reality of consent and privacy. Additionally, in our news segment, what would it have cost various companies like Yahoo, eBay, and Equifax, based on how they responded to their data breaches in the past, were they subject to the new GDPR rules?

SESSION SHARED WITH PERMISSION. WARNING-DEMONIC MANIFESTATIONS MAY BE PRESENT. Joan was told by a Facebook pastor from Lagos that her ex-husband’s mistress placed a curse on her life. She had black-list and caged her. Even though this may be somewhat true, but not altogether truth. Actually the curse started long before Joan met her husband and his mistress. Joan was born under an ungodly covenant of idolatry and ancestral witchcraft. The same demons that had Joan and her family enslaved are the same demons who told this under-cover witch doctor their plans for her life. BUT PRAISE THE LORD! Joan finally contacted us and the Holy Spirit confirmed to her that as she was told by a TRUE man of God that her problem is coming from ancestral witchcraft. After MANY attempts, we finally connected and God set her TOTALLY free from that ancestral witchcraft. I now pray that she remain submitted to God so that she maintains that which the LORD had done in her life. With permission, listen to some of our conversation as I promised not to reveal her last name or location. Are you a born-again Believer in Christ Jesus and NEVER been delivered from demons living in your mind, will, emotions and body? For information on the next weekend 1-on-1 public deliverance sessions, visit EvangelistKing.me and click on the Talkshoe logo. ALL CALLS ARE PUBLIC, RECORDED AND SHARED ON ALL OUR PROGRAMS. Shalom †
