This week's inspiring episode on the En Factor features Johnny Crowder, who is the founder and CEO of Cope Notes. Johnny joins Dr. Rebecca White at The University of Tampa in front of a live audience of students for the recording of this special episode. Johnny's venture, Cope Notes, is an online mental health platform that sends one text message at a random time every day that is scientifically proven to reduce anxiety, stress, and depression, as well as increase emotional intelligence, resilience, and coping skills. These messages come in the form of psychology facts, journaling prompts, and exercises that are created and developed by real people that have experienced overcoming mental health challenges in the past. Johnny and Cope Notes have expanded their outreach tremendously since launching in 2018 as Cope Notes now provides mental and emotional health support for organizations, families, youth, and adults in nearly 100 countries around the world. Beyond his venture, Johnny is an expert and advocate for mental health in other forms including having more than a decade of clinical treatment experience and more than a decade of peer support and public advocacy experience through the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Johnny has also spoken about the subject of mental health at TEDx events, corporate retreats, and conference keynotes and is a touring metal musician on top of all of the advocacy and support that he has provided to millions of people. In this episode, Dr. White and Johnny discuss his journey of starting Cope Notes and how it evolved into the platform it is today, the value of thinking optimistically while still balancing a sense of realism, and the importance of resilience and adaptability in your entrepreneurial journey. Dr. White and Johnny also turn to the audience to accept questions from the students towards the end of the episode. Key Words: Entrepreneurial Mindset, Success Mindset

Did the change in National Assembly make-up make a big difference? Should Labor be disappointed, and was Rebecca White a personal drag on the campaign? In South Korea, will a repeat Democratic Party landslide be a big problem for President Yoon Suk Yeol? How did the Opposition pull off such a big result again? Welcome to Episode 4 of the Lowth Entrepreneurship Center Bonus Series! If you enjoy this show, subscribe to this podcast for weekly episodes. Meet Holland: My journey with flowers started from a young age when, like most young girls, I would go outside, pick weeds, and arrange them in vases around my house. As I grew, I always loved to create arts and crafts, and to this day, I love a good DIY project. However, when deciding to enter the "real world" I choose to become a graphic designer. I thought this was a great way to express myself creatively and still make decent money. After 5 years in the design world working at advertising agencies and design studios and running my own design company, I realized I was desperately missing creating physical pieces of art. I decided I was at a block in my career with what I wanted to do, so like most logical people I jumped on a plane and headed to Bali to figure things out. Well, boom, I was there for 4 months, and while exploring the beautiful island of the gods, I rediscovered my passion for flowers and realized this is what I was meant to do. However, I didn't just want to be a florist; I wanted to teach others how to arrange flowers and bring them the same joy that it brings me. Low and behold, The Roaming Petal was born. Here we are today, bringing floral workshops to people's homes and events, and I couldn't be happier. I am so honored that you're here, and I simply cannot wait to meet you! About The Roaming Petal: BRINGING FLOWER DESIGN WORKSHOPSRIGHT TO YOUR DOOR Ever wanted to connect, ground, and recenter while playing with flowers? Need a way to make a bridal shower, birthday, or corporate event even more fun? Then our Floral Parties are perfect for you! We bring educational, fun, and healing floral design workshops right to your home or event. You will not only learn tons of flower tips and tricks but also how to relax, ground, and reconnect through flowers. At a lot of media companies, the crime beat is new reporter purgatory. This is probably your first job out of college: listen to scanner traffic and when something newsworthy happens, you run out and report it. In one sense, it's journalism on easy mode — the stories literally come to you — and in that sense, it's understandable to put a young reporter on it. But that inexperience creates a real imbalance between the journalist and power, asking the least experienced writers to hold their own against career law enforcement bureaucrats and professional communicators. And because there's so much to cover, new reporters often only have time to get the police account of things, and rarely get a chance to actually follow up to see if the person arrested actually ends up facing trial. You're going to hear from two different young reporters, Rebecca White from KPBX and Valerie Osier, on the effects of this, and why, for the health of our communities and the mental health of young reporters, the crime beat has to go.
