The Tanaiste Michael Martin visited a Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan yesterday as he concluded his visit to the Middle East. The Talbieh Camp, which is 35km south of Amman, is home to 10,600 people. It's consists of a school, a medial centre and homes. And it's one of ten UNWRA funded refugee camps in Jordan that accommodate 2.5m people. One of the findings of the Census is that the proportion of the population who reported themselves to be Roman Catholic fell by 4 per cent to 69 percent between 2016 and 2022. Around 300 people turned out for an anti-immigration protest in Co-Westmeath last night. An Post and the Irish Red Cross have opened a fund for the community of Creeslough, called the Creeslough Restoration Fund.
