Some great titles in physical media this week and Erik Childress is joined by Peter Sobczynski to convince you to pick them up. They include a great modern con artist noir from Criterion and a lost film from Paul Bartel. The ‘70s bring us some sexploitation horror and Sherlock Holmes hunts Jack the Ripper while the '80s gave us one of the most unique and divisive slasher films. Peter goes to bat for a pair of 4K upgrades from John Carpenter and Tarsem. Finally, there is a trio of new 4Ks from Quentin Tarantino that includes one of Peter's favorite films and one of Erik's favorite music cues. 0:00 - Intro 2:16 – Criterion (The Grifters 4K) 15:30 - Liberation Hall (Shelf Life) 26:29 - Kino (Fade-In, Invasion of the Bee Girls, Murder by Decree 4K, April Fool's Day 4K) 58:57 - Shout Factory (John Carpenter's Vampires 4K) 1:06:57 - Arrow (The Cell 4K) 1:19:45 - Lionsgate (Jackie Brown 4K, Kill Bill Vol. 1 4K, Kill Bill Vol 2 4K) 1:39:44 - New Theatrical Titles On Blu-ray (Here, The Return, Rumours, Smile 2, The Substance, Venom: The Last Dance) 1:44:00 – New Blu-ray Announcements

When we recorded this episode, we had intended it to go up a few days later. We talked about RiffTrax Presents: Earth Angel (from Bridget & Mary Jo) and Invasion of the Bee Girls (from Matthew J. Elliot & Ian Potter). Then, just as we were wrapping up, something strange happened. We had an attempted invasion by a special guest. It ended up crashing everything, and it took me a few days to properly recover the audio. So here, finally, is the first part of the episode TOP BCRET! Adorable animals return for another assault! I never thought that it would be the bees. But it is definitely the BEES! And a few wasps. Nicole probably wishes that she had not suggested this topic, despite her frothing at the mouth at the opportunity to make fun of the Common Craig's MINOR bee phobia. First up, we discuss the origin of fear for the Common Craig, which oddly enough, may have ties to Spider-Man and his grandmother! And then from there, the buzzing begins with The Deadly Bees (1966) and unfortunately, continues on and on and on with Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973), The Savage Bees (1976), Terror Out of the Sky (1978), The Swarm (1978), The Bees (1978) and Stung (2015). Talk about a BUZZ-O-RAMA! But like, not in a good way...

Welcome to Phantom Galaxy Episode 23. This week we begin a regular feature on what's available on streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. We also present our second submitted Phantom Rant, and we get to use our censor noise for the first time on the podcast. Chris and Nathan are joined by Jason Kuppler as they take a look at Netflix's Okja, The Bad Batch, and more. There's a distinctly female theme running through this week's films, especially in the horror arena. The female-centric anthology XX, and two thrillers featuring young female protgaonists (Sweet Sweet Lonely Girl and The BlackCoat's Daughter) round out the ghoulishness. And Chris reviews an old schlock movie called 'Invasion of the Bee Girls. Join us for that and much more, deep within The Phantom Galaxy! Phantom Galaxy is a genre podcast that releases every week. If you’d like to support the cast please subscribe free in iTunes, and leave a review for the show! You can also contact us and share your recommendations for show topics and stuff to review (books, beer, movies, whatever!) or leave us a Phantom Rant at Phantomcasts@gmail.com and check us out on Twitter @fantomgalaxy.
