As 2025 draws to a close, the Star Wars landscape looks radically different than it did a year ago. The Acolyte's cancellation sent shockwaves through the fandom, Skeleton Crew emerged as an unexpected gem, and Andor Season 2 proved why some stories are worth the wait. Matthew, Erin, and Alex reunite to reflect on a tumultuous year that saw creative risks, behind-the-scenes drama, and a franchise at a crossroads.Questions We ExploredHow did Skeleton Crew defy expectations to become one of the year's standout shows? From Jod Na Nawood's complex villainy to the show's Amblin-inspired heart, we discuss what made this series work when skepticism ran high.Did Andor Season 2 deliver on its promise as prestige Star Wars television? We break down why this season elevated political drama in the franchise and why the three-episode arcs proved so effective. What does the Mandoverse's future look like after The Mandalorian and Grogu film announcement? We explore Dave Filoni's expanding role and whether interconnected storytelling helps or hinders individual shows. How has Star Wars animation evolved with Tales of the Empire and The Bad Batch's conclusion? We discuss Morgan Elsbeth's origin story, Barriss Offee's redemption, and whether animated content is carrying the franchise's creative torch. What role did fandom toxicity play in shaping this year's Star Wars conversation? From review bombing to the Acolyte controversy, we examine how online discourse impacts creative decisions and cast members.Where should Star Wars go next to recapture its creative momentum? We offer our perspectives on what stories the franchise should tell, which risks are worth taking, and how to balance nostalgia with innovation.**************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. Welcome to the 100th episode of For The Republic: A Love Letter to Star Wars Animation! Join Andrew (@StarlightAndrew), Donovan (@DonovanMeade) & Conor (@DepaBanana) as we celebrate our biggest milestone yet the same way we began - talking about The Clone Wars! We discuss the Zillo Beast arc of Season 2. Heavily inspired by Godzilla and kaiju stories, how does Star Wars put their own spin on the monster genre? With us getting to this arc after the Beast's return in The Bad Batch, how do those episodes improve this arc in hindsight? We also discuss the (at the time of recording, sorry) social media mania regarding the cancelled The Hunt for Ben Solo movie, and when we could see Adam Driver return as Ben Solo in the future.Thank you for journeying through Star Wars with us for 100 episodes!Episodes Discussed: "The Zillo Beast (S2E18). Life Legally After Being the Villain in Star Wars Crosshair, Alexsandr Kallus, Barriss Offee, and Asajj Ventress, are all former villains who abandoned being the “bad guy.” Are they forgiven for their crimes? How is their status as former Imperial or Separatists handled legally? Kallus committed war crimes on Lasats. Is he forgiven for genocide because he joined the Rebellion? Barriss Offee committed acts of terrorism, became an Inquisitor, and then abandoned the Empire to become a healer. Is she forgiven? Crosshair enacted brutal attacks on behalf of the Empire and deserted after seeing Imperial cruelty to his fellow clones. Is Crosshair forgiven for those he killed? Meanwhile, we meet a new imperial that we instantly hate. In this episode of Dark Side Divas, we discuss Star Wars - The Bad Batch episode "Replacements" (s1e3). The divas explain why this is NOT a filler episode, and Stef gives a huge revelation about the meaning of the episode's title before the episode ends. We also talk about Taco Bell a little too much. Listen and find out why!

Episode 67: NEON Cagematch Part Two This episode was recorded on August 29, 2025 and posted on October 18, 2025. Content Warning: Light vulgarity. Introduction Welcome back to the NEON Cagematch! Introductions to your Ghosts Hosts with the Most - Lonely of Lonely Horror Club and Projectile Varmint aka Suzie Introductions to our Cagematch cohost Mike aka That Horror Teacher The Cagematch Bracket & Rules Bracket: To create the brackets, we pulled a total of 22 horror films from the NEON filmography which were placed into “seeds” based on their IMDB & Rotten Tomatoes ratings. After ranking all of the films, we used a bracket creator, like people do for fantasy football or March madness, which generated our full NEON Cagematch bracket. Check out the full bracket here. Rules: For scoring and advancing, each host will rate the movie from 1 to 10 on the following metrics: acting, storytelling, scares, and cinematography. We can't give zeroes so the lowest possible overall score will be 12 and the highest possible overall score will be 120. In the event of a tie - the film with the highest Rotten Tomatoes score will advance. Each host will also have one wild card which will allow the host to rescore any film that has advanced to another round. Rounds Preliminary Rounds - All reviews contain spoilers! The Lodge (2019) vs Immaculate (2024) The Monkey (2025) vs New Order (2020) In the Earth (2021) vs Bad Batch (2016) Thank you to our honorary partner in crime - Mike aka That Horror Teacher Follow Mike's reviews @thathorrorteacher on Instagram! It's always fun bonding with people over shared interests. For Olivia and I, it was Star Wars and The Bad Batch series. It was a pleasure getting to have Olivia join me on the podcast to talk about this, and so much more! We start things off by by getting into Marvel and The X-Men fandom. Olivia talks about some of her favorite movies/shows that exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what keeps her coming back for more. We talk about some of her favorites (one of her favorite movies may surprise you!) and then we talk about The X-Men. From X-Men 93 and 97, to comics, and what she's hoping for in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when it comes to the X-Men, including one mutant that made my jaw drop. Then we find ourselves in the galaxy far, far away to talk Star Wars. Olivia talks about her first experiences with the fandom, from the movies to TV shows, and characters. Olivia talks about her love of shows like Rebels, how she's catching up on shows she missed, and what we're expecting from the future movies/shows that have been announced. Musical Theater is next. Olivia talks about how and when she started on the stage, and what drives her to entertain. We talk about some of her experiences and roles, including being Flounder on a Disney cruise ship. Now that she's back on land, we talk about what she's working towards now and her future on stage and screen. We then wrap up by talking about Cosplay. Olivia talks about getting into cosplay, the characters that she cosplays as, and some of the future plans for her as an individual along with potential future group shoots. We also talk briefly about her podcast, Damsels Distressing, which should be returning soon! Armor Party talks with Brendan Wayne, character performer of the helmeted Din Djarin of the Mandalorian. For 2 seasons of the Mandalorian and with appearances in The Book of Boba Fett, Brendan walks us through how his skills and training as a gunslinger inspired the costume and persona of the badass beneath the Beskar. Hear about his humble journey from fitting into a costume designed for a bigger actor, almost missing the audition for Dad-duties, and what his Grandfather, John "The Duke" Wayne, thought about Star Wars.Follow Brendan WayneSubscribe to Thank the Maker on YouTubeSupport Thank the Maker on PatreonGet Thank the Maker merch: thankthemakermerch.comFind the finest garments and accessories in the galaxy at RSVLTSFollow and message us on Instagram to get 20% off your first purchase at rsvlts.com!Follow TTM on social media: thankthemakerpod.comDonate to "WHAT CHOICE? - Star Wars Fans For Abortion Access" at gofundme.Follow the hosts on social media:Adam RussellNick GhanbarianWilliam Ryan KeyMike ForesterJason ChiodoAhsoka, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, The Book of Boba Fett, The Bad Batch, The High Republic, #makesolo2happen, The Mandalorian, Star Wars Visions, Anime, Star Wars Anime, Disney Gallery, Galactic Starcruiser, Halcyon, Chandrila Star Line, Galaxy's Edge, Rogue Squadron, Disney+ Day, Hondo Supply, Armor Party, Kathleen Kennedy, Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars Black Series, Temuera Morrison, Black Krrsantan, Tosche Station, Danny Trejo, Fennec Shand, Ming-Na Wen, Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker, Cad Bane, Princess Leia, Vivien Lyra Blair, Carrie Fisher, Tales of the Jedi, Cassian Andor, Bix Caleen, Brasso, Luthen Rael, Mon Mothma, Vel Sartha, Cinta Kaz, Dedra Meero, Syril Karn, Orson Krennic
