What does it really mean to “find God in all things”?In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we explore Ignatian spirituality through the lens of daily awareness, grounded presence, and embodied faith. Inspired by the teachings of Ignatius of Loyola, this conversation moves beyond church walls and spiritual practices into the ordinary rhythms of life.Finding God is not limited to prayer time, worship sets, or retreat spaces. It happens in emails, research, conversations, tension, joy, fatigue, and decision-making. It is a discipline of attention. A way of seeing. We unpack discernment, the Examen, and the idea that spirituality should make you more present, more ethical, and more engaged not detached from reality. This episode challenges performative spirituality and invites a steady, grounded awareness that transforms the everyday into sacred ground.Because finding God in everything does not mean escaping life.It means inhabiting it fully.
Leigh and Kelly are back with some top-tier product recommendations, from Leigh’s ultimate lipstick for people who hate lipstick, to Kelly McCarren in a bottle (it’ll make sense once you’ve listened!). On today’s episode of Spendy Savey, the team shares their best skincare, makeup, hair, body and fragrance recommendations. Leigh’s Spendy is a smudgey, foolproof matte lipstick that feels like you’re wearing nothing – no lip liner required! She also recommends not one, but two glowy skin products for face and body that cost $25 (or less). Spoiler: The first is a viral chemist-brand bargain that resembles the iconic (and exxy) Hourglass powders, and the second is a body oil that looks like a hand sanitizer and feels like lube, but leaves body skin glowy and hydrating. Meanwhile, Kelly shares the most expensive makeup brush she’s ever recommended, but it’s fine, because it’s actually two brushes for the price of one. Plus, meet the lighter, more refreshing version of Kelly’s all-time favourite fragrance, and the new Tarte lip products Leigh lost her mind over. EVERYTHING MENTIONED: SPENDY Leigh: Merit Signature Lip Blush in Gamay, $44. Kelly: Hourglass Veil™ Powder Brush, $114. SAVEY Leigh: Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Revitalizing Body Oil, $14. Kelly: Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Scent Spray, $41, and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Fine Fragrance Mist, $10. NEWBIE: Leigh: Covergirl TruBlend Skin Enhancer Baked Luminous Bronzer, $24.95, and Covergirl TruBlend Skin Enhancer Baked Luminous Blush, $24.95. Kelly: Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump Liner With Charm (Limited Edition), $46, and Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Gloss With Charm (Limited Edition), $46. SHOP MY STASH: Leigh: NIDA Peptide Propolis Renewal Serum, $19. Kelly: ghd Chronos Curve Conical Wand, $320. DON'T FORGET: Watch & Subscribe on YouTube, this episode drops tonight at 7pm! What if the Big Bang was not just a cosmic explosion, but the first moment of awareness? In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we explore the science of the Big Bang alongside the spiritual language of “Let there be light.” We unpack how light functions as both physical radiation and symbolic consciousness and what that means for identity, perception, and existence itself. From black holes to human eyes, we examine how light bends, enters, and creates reality inside the brain. Are our eyes biological portals? Is awareness the universe observing itself? And what does the possibility of multiverses really imply? This episode carefully untangles the difference between layered realities and fear-based ideas of duplication or doppelgängers. If multiple dimensions exist, they do not threaten your identity. They expand possibility. You are not being replaced. You are being expressed. We also connect cosmology to the “algorithm of life” exploring how expansion, perception, and consequence operate across physics and spirituality alike.Science explains the mechanism.Spirituality explores the meaning. Both begin with light.Tune in for a conversation that bridges astrophysics and consciousness and reminds us that the same light that filled the early universe is still entering your eyes right now.

What do a Disney Channel time traveler and the ancient walls of Jericho have in common? In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we connect Phil of the Future to the fall of Jericho and explore the idea that universal laws do not expire with centuries. Technology evolves. Empires rise and fall. But the algorithm of life keeps running. We unpack how cause and effect, alignment, repetition, resonance, and pattern operate across time whether in 2121 or biblical days. Before modern science labeled them. Before theology explained them. Before culture debated them. The code was already written into creation. This episode challenges the idea that principles are era-specific. We explore how universal structure applies to everyone, everywhere, simultaneously and what that means for your choices, your research, your faith, and your future.Because walls do not fall randomly.Futures do not unfold accidentally. And the algorithm does not take sides. It processes.Tune in for a conversation that bends time without breaking logic and reminds us that no matter the century, alignment still matters.

In this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with longtime friend and beauty industry force Jaimee Holmes for an intimate conversation that marks a new chapter in her career—the launch of Fel. Known for shaping some of the most iconic products in prestige beauty, Holmes opens up about the personal experiences, creative pauses, and emotional clarity that ultimately led her to build something entirely her own.The episode traces Jaimee's journey from her early days at Sephora—where she learned the power of founder vision and retail storytelling—to pivotal roles at Benefit, Perricone MD, and Too Faced. She reflects on leading the launch of Better Than Sex Mascara, the conviction it took to push past skepticism, and how trusting instinct over trend can redefine an entire category. Later chapters at Kendo and Goop offered a different lens: overseeing countless brands and SKUs revealed just how crowded—and emotionally disconnected—the industry had become. That realization, paired with personal loss and reflection, became the quiet catalyst for Fel. Rather than chasing what's next, Holmes chose to look inward—building a brand rooted in nostalgia, emotion, and the universal language of a kiss. Fel's debut, Kissylips, is designed to be felt as much as worn: playful, tactile, and intentionally uncomplicated, with packaging and textures that evoke memory rather than perfection. At its core, Fel is about responsibility and care—especially for younger consumers. From globally clean, vegan formulations to a proprietary fel-good complex™ designed to support both the lip barrier and emotional wellbeing, every detail is deliberate. This isn't makeup built for speed or spectacle—it's built for connection.Listen to the full episode of Skin Anarchy to hear Jaimee Holmes share how Fel came to life, why meaning matters more than momentum, and how beauty's future may be rooted in feeling something again.SHOP FEL BEAUTYDon't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!Support the show

Lipstick today is as messy—and fascinating—as changing attitudes towards femininity. Mining the experience of women across culture, class, and generation, this book tosses out expired ideas about beauty and power like so many tubes of melted wax. From Max Factor to Glossier, from Marilyn to Chappell Roan, lipstick is as shape-shifting and elusive as femininity itself. Rather than a staid history of the object, Lipstick is a roving exploration of gender, sexuality, and performance—combining personal narrative with research and cultural critique. Unpacking the history of feminism's anti-lipstick sentiments, debunking long-standing fallacies, and digging into how Gen Z is using lipstick to explode gender norms, this book explores how self-adornment can be a source of play, pleasure, and transformation.Website: https://peculiarbookclub.com/Newsletter: https://subscribepage.io/schillacenewsVIP Membership: https://payhip.com/PeculiarBookClubYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@PeculiarBookClub/streamsBluesky: @peculiarbookclub.bsky.socialFacebook: facebook.com/groups/peculiarbooksclubInstagram: @thepeculiarbookclub

There's a certain type of mix that doesn't shout. It just locks in and keeps things moving. This one lands exactly there, with HASKELL stepping up with a fresh Data Transmission session as he opens 2026 on Strangelove. No gimmicks, no filler, just club music played by someone who understands pacing, pressure, and when to let a groove breathe. HASKELL's rise has been steady rather than noisy. Releases across Toolroom Records, Nervous Records, Myth Of NYX, IN/Rotation and Strangelove Records have built a catalogue that works where it counts. In the booth. On proper systems. The records sit between house and stripped-back club cuts, rolling rather than racing, focused on movement and control. That mindset runs through this mix. His new Strangelove cut Ice sets the tone early, cold drums, tight low-end, no wasted energy. From there it's a selector's run. Lipstick brings swing and weight, DOUBLE C does what PAWSA does best, pressure without shouting. Cuts like El House and Power Of Love keep things ticking with that late-night bounce, the kind that works just as well in a low ceiling basement as it does on a warm rooftop. There's a strong run of HASKELL originals woven through the set too. Shake That, unreleased IDs, and the collaboration energy hinted at with the I Need You Baby cut all reinforce a clear point of view. This is club music made by someone who plays clubs regularly, not theory, not trends. A lot of that discipline comes from outside music. Before records and road life, HASKELL competed internationally in rugby, and you can hear that mentality here. Repetition, timing, restraint. Knowing when to push and when to hold. It's the same logic that made Go Deep with Mark Knight and Gene Farris such a strong Toolroom moment last year, functional, confident, built to last past first plays. This mix feels like a proper marker for the year ahead. No rush, no rebrand, just someone doubling down on what works and delivering it clean. Get locked in and listen via SoundCloud, Mixcloud or Apple Podcasts. This one's built for long blends and late finishes. ⚡️Like the Mix? Click the [Repost] ↻ button so more people can hear it!
In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we use Matrix Resurrections as a lens to talk about rebooting, adaptation, and why failure isn't the end of the system. It's just an update. From software patches to experimental redesigns, science thrives on iteration, not perfection. We explore how the brain adapts after setbacks, why stalled methods get left behind, and how both labs and lives demand periodic resets to stay relevant. Whether it's revising a hypothesis, abandoning outdated protocols, or rethinking personal direction, this episode reframes failure as feedback and evolution as survival. In science and in life, you either update or you lag behind. There's no blame in the reboot, only progress.
President Trump is back in the Roosevelt Room with a hamburger and a mission: steamroll any state that doesn't fall in line. But there's a giant, constitutional wall in his way—and it's one his own party usually claims to love. Michael Steele strips away the political "lipstick" to look at the 10th Amendment reality. Today's episode is a little different. Because lately we've been feeling it: the shift into your 40s and 50s is real. Friendships change. Your body changes. Your kids grow up overnight. And somehow you're expected to keep up with all of it while also looking cute, staying calm, and being everyone's emotional support system. So we're zooming out and having the unfiltered conversation about what it actually feels like to grow up in this stage of life — from navigating adult friendships (and learning how to set boundaries without guilt), to dealing with jealousy, comparison, and social media dynamics that no one talks about… but everyone feels. We get into how to maintain close friendships when everyone is busy with work and kids, why your standards shift as you get older, and the “hard truth” that not everyone is meant to come with you into every season. And because it wouldn't be Lipstick on the Rim without some beauty + body talk, we're also sharing what's helped us feel more confident as we age. A Sony Music Entertainment production. Confidence can feel like power, but when it's built on ego instead of evidence, it becomes a glitch in the system. In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we unpack the Matrix Confidence Error. That moment when certainty turns rigid, criticism replaces curiosity, and tearing others down is mistaken for intelligence. From lab culture to personal relationships, we explore how false confidence backfires neurologically, socially, and spiritually. Why it contaminates data, shuts down collaboration, and ultimately isolates the very person trying to “win.” Using a biopsychosocialspiritual lens, this episode reframes confidence as something quieter, more disciplined, and far more powerful.Because real authority doesn't dominate. It listens, refines, and builds.
It's called the "lipstick effect." Consumers sometimes splurge on small luxuries — like cosmetics, accessories, and more — as a sort of rebellion against a bleak economic backdrop. And these indulgent purchases are expected to be big in the year ahead. Also: the toll tariffs have taken on the economy as Trump threatens more over Greenland and the impact of a growing number of millionaires in the United Arab Emirates.

In this week's episode we're leaning into the our nostalgia needs and exploring the wonderful world of vintage inspired fragrances. Here's what we discuss:@guerlain Shalimar L'Essence Eau de Parfum Intense“Shalimar celebrates its 100th anniversary. To mark this exceptional event, the Maison is revealing Shalimar L'Essence, a new intense variation which concentrates Shalimar's distinctive codes: its quintessence. In this episode of Lipstick on Lab Coats, we explore scorned lovers not as villains or romantics, but as unfinished reactions. When attachment bonds fail to dissolve, the nervous system can remain locked in a state of pursuit, rumination, and surveillance. Using a biopsychosocialspiritual lens, we look at how brain chemistry, identity collapse, social isolation, and loss of meaning combine to keep some people tethered to relationships long after they've ended. Love, it turns out, follows chemical rules, and when equilibrium is never reached, the system stays reactive.

They came to life when their hometown of New York City was coming apart at the seams in the midst of rising murder, rape and burglary rates. Their drummer drowned. Their bassist was nearly murdered. Their guitar players despised their singer and the only thing their singer loved more than Archie Bell was himself. This of course was all part of the act. The self-destruction, the violence, the intra-band squabbling, but it was of course also part of the band's reality. They were too pure to last. They were born to lose. Mind Over Matter gets a bad reputation. It sounds like wishful thinking, fake positivity, or ignoring real science. But neuroscience tells a different story. In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we break down what “mind over matter” actually means without the hype. How thoughts affect stress, pain, immunity, and healing. Why your brain and body are always in conversation. And how practices like breathing and mindfulness aren't mystical at all, they're nervous system tools backed by research. No conspiracy theories. No blaming people for illness. Just real science explained in a way that actually makes sense.Because the mind doesn't control the body.It communicates with it.And that communication matters.
In this episode of Lipstick on Labcoats, we explore how the brain processes information in the age of social media and why platforms built for engagement often deliver skewed, opinion-heavy content disguised as knowledge. Drawing from neuroscience, we unpack how repetition, emotional framing, and algorithmic bias can shape beliefs, reinforce cognitive shortcuts, and quietly influence research thinking. This episode examines how reliance on social media as an information source can interfere with scientific investigations, from hypothesis formation to data interpretation, even within the lab. If you care about protecting rigor, recognizing bias, and understanding how the brain navigates a nonstop feed of claims, this conversation brings the focus back to evidence over influence.

In this special episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with supermodel, actress, podcaster, and YSE Beauty founder Molly Sims for an intimate conversation on how beauty evolves, how confidence is built, and how skincare becomes smarter with age. Known for her iconic presence and unfiltered approach on Lipstick on the Rim, Molly opens up about the real experiences that shaped her philosophy — from hormonal acne and melasma to rediscovering balance after years of harsh actives.Molly reflects on her earliest beauty memories, watching her mother turn daily routines into rituals that embodied strength and joy. That foundation, combined with her global modeling career, became its own education: effortless French skincare, British edge, Italian sensuality, and a universal truth — consistency beats extremes. Her journey to creating YSE Beauty began after her skin hit what she calls a “benefit plateau,” when aggressive ingredients stopped delivering results. She shares how shifting toward cushion actives, barrier support, and clinical but sensorial formulations transformed her skin and inspired a brand built on wisdom, simplicity, and results that feel good. For Molly, beauty isn't about correction or perfection — it's about alignment. It's the confidence that comes from choosing what serves you, whether that's a glow-inducing exfoliating pad, a subtle procedure, or simply giving your skin room to breathe.Listen to the full episode to hear Molly Sims discuss aging with intention, building YSE Beauty from the ground up, and why true luxury isn't the price tag — it's how you feel in your own skin.SHOP YSE Beauty and learn more on their social media!CHAPTERS:(0:03) - Introduction & Guest Welcome(1:07) - Early Beauty Memories & “It Girl” Origins(2:44) - Influences From Travel, Fashion & Global Beauty Culture(4:53) - Shifting Aesthetic Trends: From Harsh Treatments to Maintenance(6:59) - Social Media, Filler Culture & Confidence(9:46) - Personal Journeys With Procedures, Aging & Empowerment(12:11) - Why Wise Beauty Was Created(17:05) - Actives, Cushioning Ingredients & the Skin Plateau(21:52) - Luxury vs. Efficacy, Accessibility & Building a Smarter Beauty BrandPlease fill out this survey to give us feedback on the show!Don't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf! What does it take to walk away from a "good government job," a law degree, and the security everyone expects you to hold onto? Deida Massey knows. People called her crazy but she called it obedience. Raised on Chicago's South Side, Deida started out advocating for abused and neglected children. But something in her spirit said there was more. So she did the unthinkable: she left it all, moved to L.A. with no connections, and started at the bottom of the makeup world. Her leap led her into rooms with icons like DMX, Common and Dr. Maya Angelou… and ultimately to Zanzibar, where one encounter with the "lipstick plant" sparked the birth of Bixa Beauty, her vegan cosmetics brand. This conversation is full of the kind of truth you only get from a woman who risked everything. Let's be honest and dispense with the illusion of carefree, perfectly decaying, infinitely Instagrammable, late fall gardens. In reality, the leaves have blown off the trees, the decorative pumpkins are getting soft spots, and there's a whole lot of flattened, crushed, eaten, and dejected going on where you had envisioned majestic seed heads, trusses of berries, and full-on fall splendor to welcome friends and family home for Thanksgiving. Today, Leslie and Marianne have some tips for successfully curating the reality of that garden. How do we uncover the good, downplay the bad, and plan for better next year? How do we put lipstick on this pig?The girls are transitioning to the winter garden — beautifully.
