Congregation of the Living Word, a Messianic Jewish Congregation
Messiah's words in John chapter 6 were very disturbing to some people. Peter, however, understood what Yeshua's teaching actually meant... and so should we!. Recorded November 7, 2021
Lindsey is back; Tom has another bad experience at the same restaurant he discussed in the previous episode and vows to never return; Phil stops by to help with the play-by-play of our latest vlog – a $1,000 footgolf match between him and John.
Now, they didn’t have all kinds of time together. Dad was a line worker. But they did watch college football.
How you can start your day in a beautiful way
There's no middle ground with Michigan-based hard rock quartet Greta Van Fleet. You either think they're the savior messiahs of rock & roll music, or you think they're a pale cloying imitation of a bad Led Zeppelin cover band, or you haven't been paying attention. For such a fledgling band to have popped up from out of nowhere and inspire such concentrated amounts of equal parts praise and vitriol is a remarkable feat in these modern times, when rock music is increasingly less relevant.Their studio debut Anthem Of The Peaceful Army was no exception. Upon its release in 2018 they were treated to a wealth of criticism, a sizeable chunk of which was overwhelmingly negative; including a particularly infamous 1.6 out of 10 review from Pitchfork Media, and declared of Greta Van Fleet: "They make music that sounds exactly like Led Zeppelin and demand very little other than forgetting how good Led Zeppelin often were."Harsh words from a typically harsh publication, but are they deserved? Are Greta Van Fleet here to save rock music or just another cynical ploy towards nostalgia-fetishism? That's what we intend to find out on this new episode of Jukebox Zeroes, in which Lilz & Patrick are joined by Clinton Degan of Body English to peel the retro-onion that is Anthem Of The Peaceful Army.Local Music Feature: "Torchbear" by Knock Over City
Operatic, spectacle-heavy rockers Queen & 70s blues-rockers Bad Company are a match that goes together like cookies and Elmer's glue, yet that's exactly what remaining Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor put together in 2006, when they invited Paul Rodgers of Bad Company to front the long dormant classic rock group, (Replacing the legendary and long deceased Freddie Mercury) and go on a world tour to mixed reaction under the banner of Queen + Paul Rodgers.Still energized from this questionable collaboration, the three engaged in an even more questionable collaboration: A new studio album. 2008's "The Cosmos Rocks" was the result, and people were not fans. But will the goodboix Lilz and Patrick be? That's what we find out on this episode of Jukebox Zeroes, which features special guest Devon Murphy of DAEVES dishing on one of the more embarrassing moments in Queen's history.Local Artist Feature: "Sound Asleep" by Body English
The boys are back in town, kicking off February with singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley's sole studio album "Grace". We are joined by musical virtuoso Clinton Degan (of Body English) as we attempt to traverse the line between earnest praise and jocular commentary. Actually, full disclosure, we've been just listening to the Lion King soundtrack this whole time.

Episode 29: VICE The legendary DJ Vice joins the R.O.A.D. podcast and starts off by telling the crew of his first DJ battle at age 19 in New York, in which he placed 2nd to DJ Skribble. Going back, Vice tells his story of growing up in LA, how he started DJing at age 10, and also how he grew up listening to Power 106 and ultimately put himself in position to be an on-air mixer for the station. Vice goes on to talk of his relationship with DJ AM, and how AM introduced him to the Hollywood nightlife scene. Vice breaks down how radio DJ's were not getting booked in Hollywood clubs, and the struggles he faced in order to break into that scene. Vice tells the crew how much radio meant, at the time in the late 90s and early 2000s, to artists in order for them to get their music out. And because of that, he was able to build relationships with artists. Vice tells how he got started in Vegas, and how DJ OB-1 and DJ Five took him under their wing, and also his first residency at Body English. Now well established, Vice talks about how he started CRSVR, his boutique shoe store, with locations in Santa Barbara and Las Vegas. Vice goes on to talk about his production, his continued love for DJ culture, and how he continues to find ways to reinvent himself.

Guest Mix: Jordan Stevens (Marquee / Las Vegas). This months episode comes to you from the Buenos Aires hotel room of Christopher Lawrence where he is in town for Ultra Music Festival in Argentina. This months guest mix is from Jordan Stevens from Las Vegas. Jordan Stevens has a cultivated devotion to reading the dance floor every time he takes control of the tables and invigorates a crowd. For the Georgia-born, Vegas-based DJ, his unbiased approach to electronic dance music insures everyone from the critical club kid to a visitor from middle America will be dancing from when the party starts until last call."I enjoy all forms of electronic dance music," Stevens says. "There's an element in each genre that I love and incorporate into my sets." With a perceptive connection and unbiased approach to what any given room craves, Stevens first honed his skills a decade ago in the Vegas underground scene as part of duo Shawn & Stevens with fellow DJ, Kevin Shawn. He earned solo recognition amongst the afterhours set at the legendary Empire Ballroom with a two-year residency, followed by regular stints playing for Godskitchen at Body English and Vanity. Always searching to share his sound, Stevens then earned a coveted residency at The Palms Casino Resort for the launch of Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto at Rain Nightclub, as well weekly gigs at Moon and Ghostbar, earning him a nod by the "Las Vegas Weekly" as the publication's first "Rising Star DJ" in it's annual Best of the City awards. Accomplished and respected throughout the industry, the seasoned professional has mastered the art of setting up a room proper to carrying clubbers all night - exactly what dance music dominator Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub was looking for when they opened their doors and acquired Stevens as a weekly resident. But his reach goes far beyond the booth in Vegas and Stevens' previous tour stops include The Colossal Event in Phoenix, Circus in Los Angeles, The Church and Vinyl in Denver, and Tantra in Miami during the Winter Music Conference. Stevens has also captivated crowds at the annual Love Festival in addition to staying grounded with gigs at Obsession, Artisan and Drai's Afterhours.
