The holidays can be tough, but there are ways to still shine. Let's talk about being "bright" this holiday season.
Happy Eastertime! Celebrating the Ascension of Christ and Bright Week! Keep in mind that 'Bright Week' (Eastern Church) or 'Easter Week' (Western Church) starts the fifty days of welcoming the wonderful miracle that Jesus Christ has given us! Jesus gave up his human life, an innocent man dying on the cross, allowing us God's gift of the Resurrecting of him for all humankind. A rebirth for humankind to live in him and he in us. Let the celebration continue! Christ Has Risen! And on a solemn note during this celebration, I want to offer condolences to all my friends in the Roman Catholic Church on the passing of Pope Francis, the day after Easter of this year 2025 of the Lord. There are links, photos and more about this on my website. Pray for this war in the Middle East to end. Also, Pray for the People of Ukraine. Kailey Newkirk // Simeon's story is a powerful example of patient faith and trust in God's promises. After years of waiting for the “consolation of Israel,” his hope is fulfilled with peace and clarity when he meets the infant Jesus. Like Simeon, we learn that seasons of waiting, though uncertain, can bring growth, anticipation, and the assurance that God's timing is always perfect.Visit Our Website summitchurchfl.org Follow Us on Social Media Facebook // InstagramWatch Online Services and More YouTube Subscribe for weekly sermon podcasts!
Johnny Outing // This week, we reflect on the shepherds and wise men, whose contrasting journeys both led to Jesus. The shepherds discovered the miraculous in their ordinary lives, while the wise men pursued truth with purposeful ambition. Similarly, our spiritual journeys may emerge through quiet discovery or intentional seeking, each leading to transformation and the wonder of encountering Christ.Visit Our Website summitchurchfl.org Follow Us on Social Media Facebook // InstagramWatch Online Services and More YouTube Subscribe for weekly sermon podcasts!
Michael Hinton // Joseph's story speaks to the challenging seasons in relationships—when love, trust, and faith are tested by the unexpected. Faced with a potentially scandalous situation, Joseph had to choose between protecting his own reputation or trusting in God's greater plan. Wrap up our study in 2 Timothy with us. How do we stay faithful and burn bright for Jesus in a world with a lot of darkness? As Paul ends we see his unspoken answer in the way he lived his life: For Jesus and deeply committed to others.
Coming close to the end of this letter from Paul to Timothy, we take a look at Paul's final culture-shifting charge to the young leader, and it strikes close to home for us as well.
Guest Speaker Pastor Randy Young shares with us from a challenging passage in 2 Timothy 2.
We dive into chapter 2 of 2 Timothy and look at some practical advice from Paul in the form of three metaphors.
We're diving into 2 Timothy, the final letter of Paul to a young pastor whom he calls his beloved son. As we dive in, Paul warmly greets Timothy and then encourages him to keep the fire burning, and rely on the Spirit.
