Well, timing is everything! Just a few hours before sitting down with Brad Geiger and Neil Langland to tape our latest podcast, five-star cornerback prospect Cormani McClain verbally committed to play for Coach Prime at Colorado. While McClain, one of the highest-rated recruits in CU history, can't officially become a Buff until February 1st, his verbal commitment gives us the opportunity to talk about what McClain means to the 2023 CU roster, what his announcement means to the national perception of the Colorado program, and what his signing could mean to help CU recruit additional star power for the Class of 2024 and beyond.We then move on to discuss the tidal wave of new talent coming to the Champions Center this fall. Coach Prime and his staff have now replaced over half of the roster from the 2022 season, with more additions - and subtractions - to come. How do the coaches keep the team from fracturing into an “us v. them” locker room? Can CU construct a starting lineup just from the incoming players? Are CU fans expecting too much from the transfers, many of whom are from Power Five conference schools, but few of whom were multiple year starters at their former schools? The Miami Hurricanes hosted priority WR target Gary Bryant Jr. for a visit. Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis was not present for the visit and had no contact with Bryant, not even over the phone, per CaneSport's Matt Schodell. Is this a sign that Gattis is not part of Miami's plans for next season? Host Alex Donno describes the oddity of the situation and whether or not this confirms the theory that Gattis will soon be replaced. It's possible he could have had a family emergency or could be suffering from an illness. Bryant still gave very positive feedback on his Miami visit. He left Coral Gables without committing but was always expected to take his time. Bryant is finishing next semester at USC before enrolling at his next destination. He also plans to visit Arizona, Texas A&M and will have an in-home with Penn State coaches.  Miami did land commitments from transfer portal TE Cam McCormick and preferred walk on Duke LB Rocky Shelton. Donno explains why McCormick, an 8th year senior, will be an excellent addition to Miami's roster. Donno offers the latest on 5-star Miami commit Cormani McClain, who confirmed his weekend visit to Colorado. Miami Hurricanes coaches were set to visit Cormani McClain at Lakeland High. However, according to a report from Gaby Urrutia of Inside The U, McClain is leaving town to make an official visit somewhere else. Word is he's not headed to Alabama so the feeling is he is headed to Colorado to visit Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.
