Missouri vs. Alabama Predictions: SEC Football Week 7

The 14

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 6, 2025 24:59

Unbeaten Missouri hosts red-hot Alabama in perhaps the SEC's most interesting game of Week 7, one that kicks off at 11 Central on ABC. Topics include: Alabama knocked off Georgia and Vanderbilt by playing keep-away from their opponents, out-snapping those teams 77-53 and 67-55, respectively. The Crimson Tide have turned it over just once all season. However, Missouri out-snaps opponents 80-50 on average, out-scores opponents 45.2-14.6 and is winning in total offense by an average of 548-198. Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula is a talented runner; Alabama had issues with Florida State's mobile Thomas Castellanos but did a good job of containing Diego Pavia last week. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is looking like a Heisman-Trophy candidate. Both teams have fantastic receiving duos in Germie Bernard and Ryan WIlliams (Alabama) and Marquis Johnson and Kevin Coleman Jr. Each team also feels great about its top running back. Missouri's Ahmad Hardy leads the country in rushing, while Alabama is much more potent with the return of Jam Miller. Alabama is battle-tested, with wins at Georgia and at home against Vanderbilt, while Missouri's top two wins are against Kansas and South Carolina, both in Columbia. The Crimson Tide's defense is also improving, with a tremendous shutout performance in the second half against Vanderbilt. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.    Patrick Mahomes was as great as he ever was Sunday as Xavier Worthy returned to action.  The Chiefs never looked better.  Now, the Ravens defense may give the Cowboys a run for worst in the NFL but that doesn't matter right now.  The Chiefs have erased their 0-2 start with a pair of season saving wins and may have just flipped the bird to the world that had them dead and buried.    Lamar Jackson turned it over twice and wound up on the bench with a hammy strain, I'd say the defense did its job brilliantly.  Meanwhile, the Chargers lose and KC is now only one back in the division.    We recap a wild college football Saturday that saw Kansas State completely change its offensive scheme in an easy win over UCF.  KU is so easy to watch and Jalon Daniels was brilliant but Cincinnati took advantage of a KU defense that's acting like it wants to be the worst in the Big 12.  Beau Pribula sets a record in Columbia for the Tigers in a win over UMASS.    The Ryder Cup turned into a crap show this weekend, boy do I have some grievances. Chase Elliott wins a double overtime thriller at Kansas Speedway and I"m here to save you some money today if you'd like a cup of coffee.

Blake Lovell, Brian Edwards, and Chase Robinson preview Kansas's road trip to Missouri. The game kicks off at 2:30 Central and Missouri is a 6-point favorite at FanDuel as of Tuesday. Topics include: Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula was as good as advertised in the Tigers' lopsided win over Central Missouri. Wide receiver Marquis Johnson had a great game in the opener, too, and running back Ahmad Hardy stands ready for a big year. Missouri re-loaded with a lot of defensive talent in the portal. However, the Tigers will have to fix some pass-protection issues. Kansas, under coach Lance Leipold, has been a tough out for about anyone since he took over in Lawrence. Jayhawk quarterback Jalon Daniels is off to a hot start and looks to improve over last season. We dive deep into the SEC's upper crust with our first of two comprehensive preview episodes, breaking down eight of the conference's most talented and high-expectation teams. From Texas's national championship aspirations and the beginning of the Arch Manning era to Alabama's loaded roster under Kalen DeBoer and a revamped offense for Georgia under Kirby Smart, we explore the teams most likely to compete for SEC titles and playoff spots. In this college football podcast episode, we analyze Texas as the preseason No. 1 team and whether Arch Manning can navigate one of the toughest road schedules in the country, including trips to Ohio State, Florida, and Georgia. We examine Alabama's quarterback battle between Ty Simpson, Austin Mack, and Keelon Russell, plus the reunion of Kalen DeBoer with longtime coordinator Ryan Grubb. We discuss Georgia's search for offensive star power with Gunner Stockton at the helm and their favorable SEC schedule. We also break down Ole Miss's "nothing to lose" mentality with Austin Simmons taking over for Jaxson Dart, LSU's all-in approach with Garrett Nussmeier and their loaded but unproven receiver room, and Dan's Big Ten-to-SEC quarterback theory with Beau Pribula at Missouri.
