We'll recap the team's rocky start, the run game's dominance, and another bumpy game from the passing attack. Gift Blue White Illustrated for the holidaysWith the holidays here, give the gift to keep the Penn State fan in your life entertained year-round. Today on the Logan Blackman Show we react to Colorado's Travis Hunter being named as the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, going over why he either did or didn't deserve the award and why the reaction on social media was so insane following the announcement. We then take time to discuss quarterback Drew Allar's decision to return to Penn State, discussing what it means for this year's and next year's draft class (along with Nussmeier) as well as what it could spell for former back-up Beau Pribula's future. Moving on to the NFL we react to Michael Penix Jr. being named the starter in Atlanta as well as go over how each of the six first round quarterbacks from the 2024 Draft have done up to this point in the season. With JJ McCarthy being sidelined with a knee injury we again go over how Sam Darnold has done, with his career resurgence beginning a somewhat uncomfortable conversion up in Minnesota. Finally, we go over why Josh Allen locked up the NFL MVP award with yet another record breaking performance as well as come back with receipts and facts about why his season is even more spectacular than what it may even seem. Enjoy!

On their weekly Penn State football podcast, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette/Daily Collegian Nittany Lions insider Joel Haas to preview the College Football Playoff first-round matchup with SMU on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Is this Drew Allar's big chance to show a big audience what he can do in a do-or-die moment? Have he and coach James Franklin been slept on because casual fans only see them fail in big games? Was Allar's announced return in 2025 a surprise? Or a smart move for his NFL draft stock? And how will the rest of the quarterback room fill out behind him, with Ethan Grunkemeyer and Jaxon Smolik vying to replace transfer Beau Pribula as the No. 2 guy? Our duo tackles those questions and more, including: How much can transfer portal addition Kyron Hudson help the weak wide receiver corps next season? Could former USC Trojans teammates Zachariah and Zion Branch join him in Happpy Valley? Could Penn State see other key players like Abdul Carter, Kaytron Allen or Nick Singleton return next season? How does the PSU defense match up with SMU stars like QB Kevin Jennings, RB Brashard Smith and WRs Roderick Daniels Jr. and Key'Shawn Smith? Does the men's basketball team have March Madness potential after receiving AP poll votes this week? And what are the women's volleyball tam's chances to stop rival Pitt from winning a national title this week?

Sunday evening, backup quarterback and offensive contributor Beau Pribula announced that he would transfer and leave the program. The next morning, starter Drew Allar announced his decision to return. All of this is playing out in the roster-building portion of the calendar while Penn State is still playing. Head coach James Franklin addressed all of these ideas during his Monday press confernece ahead of the team's playoff game against SMU. We'll discuss what Franklin said yesterday, give a preview of the transfer portal work the team is doing, plus preview the upcoming game against the Mustangs on the BWI Live Show today at 10 a.m. Join the show live or catch the replay embedded below, on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel, or wherever you get your podcasts. Franklin calls for a massive change to college football. Yesterday, Franklin discussed the issues that led to Pribula's decision to transfer. The third-year passer wanted to stay with the program but couldn't manage the responsibilities on his plate. Franklin described it as a "no-win" situation and called for a change to the way the sport is run. "Beau should not be put in this position. Whether we don't play as many games during the season, whether we don't play conference championship games -- which could equal things out for teams not playing them anyway, finish this season so it aligns more with the academic calendar for most institutions because that's part of this pressure as well," Franklin said. To have a transfer portal/free agency going on right in the middle of the playoffs, there's just a lot of things that don't really make sense.I know there's been a lot of discussions about maybe a commissioner of college football, but I think it's pretty obvious we need that. We need somebody running college football."Transfer portal activity Penn State has hosted several transfer portal targets for the upcoming season. The team gained its first commitment on Monday evening when USC wide receiver Kyron Hudson joined the program for the 2025 season. We'll discuss Hudson's impact on the roster and his ability to make a dent in the team's receiver room next year. We'll also discuss the latest in Penn State recruiting during Fitz's recruiting update and give a preview of the game against SMU to close the show. Klatt also praises Nebraska's effort and the direction that the program is going under Matt Rhule. He also discusses Penn State's comeback win with their backup QB and breaks down whether Beau Pribula could be a better fit than Drew Allar for next week's matchup vs Ohio State. Texas A&M and Mike Elko made a huge statement beating LSU and now are in the driver's seat in the SEC. Oregon is Klatt's #1 team in the country – he breaks down why he thinks this team is just going to continue getting better and better. Finally, Joel looks at the Big 12 and gives Deion Sanders credit for the turnaround he's pulled off at Colorado, taking over a 1-11 program and getting them to a Bowl Game in Year 2 while putting themselves in the thick of the Big 12 race.
