Major League Baseball immediately suspended Bauer for 324 games, basically banishing him from the majors. After the due process played out, California authorities refused to bring criminal charges, and Bauer settled a civil suit without admitting guilt or paying his accuser. The two biggest stories in football right now have nothing to do with people taking the field to play the game. It's all about Taylor Swift and Deion Sanders' celebrity status. On the other hand, there's the case of Lt. Tarik Johnson, an officer vilified for questioning much of the narrative surrounding the January 6 events. Baker calls Johnson “a truth teller” and says every part of Johnson's recounting is backed up by video evidence. Johnson was suspended for nearly a year and a half and ultimately resigned as a Capitol Police officer. Johnson's crime that day? Making the decision to evacuate the Capitol building without command. The person in charge of making that decision, acting chief Yogananda Pittman, went radio silent as protesters were making their way into the building. Johnson took the initiative to protect the legislators and evacuate.
