It's a very busy week as the Ottawa Senators made a pair of trades. To start, Alex discusses those and gives his thoughts on both. Discussing why he is worried there might be a lack of a plan at times with the organization. However, also looking at the ups and downs for each. Another thing he touches on is the rookies in the starting roster. How many, or few? Will actually play? Then, Carl Landra joins Alex to discuss a Calgary Flames Season Preview. The two discuss the Flames offseason, roster, and outlook for this year. Talking about why people seem to be underrating Calgary and why Alex has them as a favourite in the North division. They also look at the forwards and why Johnny Gaudreau is the person to keep an eye on. As well as what this organization might do if they fail this season. Tune in for all of this and more, with the Last Word on Sens Podcast!

In this episode, we go through a personal journey of how I am reconciling my feelings on Junot Diaz and Michael Kimmel. As well wondering how far do we take issues of "cancellation." How do we separate the message from the man? Or do we not? Carl Landra and Veronika Ilich join me in helping me navigate these muddy waters.
Toxic Masculinity, it’s what many people think this podcast is about, a term that comes loaded with many definitions: gender roles and dominations, expression of emotions, the opposite of healthy masculinity, whatever that looks like, and what can be noted as traditional. All of them add to the confusion of what Toxic Masculinity, a phrase that is entrenched in our vernacular, actually is. So I ask, does the media get this essential part right?

Starting with their fantasy hockey history, we get to know the hosts of the newest fantasy hockey show a little better. When it comes to league format fantasy, what stats should be used? Looking at this upcoming NHL season, the guys dive into the Atlantic division, looking at which players should be avoided or drafted from each of the teams, including: - Who exactly is worth drafting on the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings? - Where should Carey Price be drafted? - Who should be drafted first: Auston Matthews or John Tavares? The guys are back with their final division preview, which means it is almost time for hockey! They start with some news: NBC will be showing the Olympics instead of NHL hockey, since the NHL isn't going to the Olympics. Is this a ploy by NBC to get back at Uncle Gary or just NBC doing what makes money? Jaromir Jagr officially won't be starting the NHL season. Where does he end up and will he play in the NHL again? The Vegas Golden Knights will have season ticket holders' names on the ice. A nice touch or tacky? And now, for the LAST DIVISION PREVIEW! The Detroit Red Wings are opening The Pizza Oven in Detroit, but will they be able to cook up any wins? Joel introduces a new game called "You Don't Know Jack!" Do the Buffalo Sabres know Mr. Jack Eichel? Do they know who to surround him with to make a winning team? Does Eichel need anyone to surround him? The Boston Bruins had some great individual performances last season. Can Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak repeat? Jonathan Marchessault is gone. Jason Demers is gone. Reilly Smith is gone. But, can the Florida Panthers still improve on last year? The Ottawa Senators get the brunt of Joel's hate. Why does he hate them so much and what can they do outside of Erik Karlsson? Steven Stamkos is back, and the Tampa Bay Lightning hope that that means they are back in the playoffs. Can they survive without Ben Bishop and Jonathon Drouin? The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to return to the playoffs. Auston Matthews. Auston Matthews. Auston Matthews. Auston Matthews. Auston Matthews. As much as any team in the league, the Canadiens are dependent on one player: Carey Price. The additions of Karl Alzner and the aforementioned Drouin ought to make things easier for Mr. Price. Lastly, the 4th Line Fantasy Hockey team gets filled! How we as men here in Canada, especially in Alberta, view hockey players is right at the top of the masculinity hierarchy. This has been ingrained to us since we’re kids. And I can say even as adults we admire these players to what they can be, and look to them to be examples of leaders, to show us perseverance, resiliency, and humbleness. So hockey players have a distinct role to play in how Canadian men act and behave, so the question then becomes, are these men doing a good job?To try to answer these questions, I invited Carl To try to answer these questions, I invited Carl Landra who runs The 4th Line Podcast and also part of the Alberta Podcast Network. And we take some time to talk about issues like LGBTQ representation in the NHL, Domestic Violence with players, and questions like does the NHL care about players being idols to kids.
