On tonight's episode, we dive into the first pre-season match-up between the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers. How did Rick Bowness fare in his first game as Jets head coach? Did his commitment to an aggressive team translate to the ice? If so, who adapted to this system well and who might not be a fit for Bowness' tactics long-term? What improvements could Bowness and the assistant staff focus on throughout pre-season? Can the lingering issues be resolved before the regular season kicks off? Is the back-up goaltending position a lock for David Rittich, or could he face some internal competition? How did the special teams look under Scott Arniel and the rest of the staff? Will all of these adjustments be enough to propel Winnipeg to the post-season, or should the focus be on progress first? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! A lot has been talked about involving the Nashville Predators goalie situation with Juuse Saros out for at least the first two games. Game 1 did not go well and ended with with starter David RIttich getting pulled after allowing five goals. Backup rookie Connor Ingram entered and did enough to warrant a start in Game 2. Even though we are an Avalanche podcast, what that young goalie did was nothing short of miraculous. The Avs had possession for what seemed like the entire game and even threw 51 shoots on goal. The very first shot by Nathan MacKinnon found the back of the net but the Avs couldn't find a second goal until Cale Makar ended the game in OT. There were spectacular performances all around. After a dominant game one, the Maple Leafs were handed a lesson by the reigning Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning in game two. Can the Leafs still win this series now that the champs are here? Speaking of championship pedigree, the Avalanche don't have it yet, but they sent a statement in game one that they're ready to be champs by chasing David Rittich before the end of the first period. Can the Preds win a game? For our middle segment, we talk about the news that Mike Ribeiro has been charged with sexual assault, the second time we have documentation that he's done this. A lot of people have failed over the last few decades to stop his criminal behaviour. Finally, the Penguins and Rangers went to triple OT in game one, with Penguins having to change to their third string goaltender midway through double overtime! Last night the Nashville Predators faced off against the top seeded Colorado Avalanche in Game one of their first round playoff game, and it was, in no uncertain terms, a disaster. While most analysts didn't give Nashville much of a chance against a quick and talented Avs team, the Avs' 7-2 trouncing of the Preds was even more brutal than expected. Nick and Ann begin the game break down by sharing our "one word" to describe that 60 minute mess. We take a look at David Rittich and Connor Ingram's play in net for the Predators and speculate on who will get the start in game two. We discuss how the absence of Juuse Saros was not anywhere near the biggest issue of the night for the Preds, and take a hard look at what went wrong on both ends of the ice. What does a loss this egregious say about head coach John Hynes and his ability to address season long issues with this team? We sort through stats and screams and give you an honest look at a horrible performance. BetOnline Today's Episode is brought to you by BetOnline. The It's All Your Fault goodbye episodes continue as we say farewell to one of our own -- host Geert De Lombaerde is leaving the Nashville Post and his IAYF-hosting duties in the dust and moving on to exciting new opportunities. But don't worry! He promises to visit from time to time and he was kind enough to record one more episode with co-hosts Michael Gallagher and Megan Seling to take a look at the upcoming hockey season. The first question on the minds of many: What's up with the goalie situation? Are the Preds all-in on Juuse Saros? Who will be the backup goalie this season, David Rittich or Connor Ingram? When can fans expect to see Iaroslave Askarov? Also: Filip Forsberg and Mattias Ekholm haven't extended their contracts with the team -- are either of them thinking about jumping ship after all the offseason antics?

Also, Preds prospect Philip Tomasino joins the show as Development Camp concludes. Brooks Bratten and Chris Mason discuss it all, plus they answer some listener questions.

On this episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast, Elan and Brian cap off our four-part Offseason Action series with their analysis of the fantasy implications of player movement coming via the draft, trade and free agent market in the Central Division. We kick off with the most costly acquisition this offseason (in both trade assets and contract!) who'll look to make an impact in Chicago, and work our way through the rest of the division in order from busiest to quietest during the last few weeks. Is Chicago just the most perfect landing spot for Seth Jones? Can Pavel Buchnevich hit 70 points in a new system and with a new centreman? Is Darcy Kuemper in Colorado now worth reaching for in your draft? How do Arizona's goalies stack up next to other historically terrifying NHL tandems? Who could get a leg up in the crowded Dallas crease? Does David Rittich threaten to take starts from Juuse Saros in Nashville? Will Connor Hellebuyck benefit from Winnipeg shoring up their D corps? Players covered on this episode include Seth Jones, Tyler Johnson, Marc-Andre Fleury, Kevin Lankinen, Torey Krug, Pavel Buchnevich, Brandon Saad, Darcy Kuemper, Pavel Francouz, Alex Newhook, Bowen Byram, Shayne Gostisbehere, Ryan Dzingel, Carter Hutton, Josef Korenar, Ryan Suter, Braden Holtby, Jake Oettinger, Anton Khudobin, Ben Bishop, Alex Goligoski, Mikael Granlund, David Rittich, Nate Schmidt, Connor Hellebuyck and more. The Calgary Flames have found themselves in an unfortunate situation in the 2020-21 season. They've had their ups and downs, a coaching change, a slew of poor player performance, and a recent trade deadline that saw the departure of David Rittich and Sam Bennett. But, as per usual, the Flames have found themselves getting back into it late in the season, but still, sit 6 points out of a playoff spot. We discuss the recent trade deadline, the Flames' recent success, where this season went wrong, and explored if they have a shot at saving this season, and what we can look forward to in the year ahead.
