Chris Lee, Blake Lovell, and Max Barr discuss and rank all 16 SEC basketball teams after Week 8 of the 2024-25 season. Topics include: Alabama wrapped up their non-conference schedule with a 105-82 win over South Dakota St. Derrion Reid did not play due to reinjuring his ankle. Arkansas has only played 3 games over the past 3 weeks, which could prove valuable for the Razorbacks as they nurse Johnell Davis back from his wrist injury. Auburn took Christmas off, not having played since the lopsided win over Purdue. The Tigers conclude their non-conference tonight at home vs. Monmouth. Florida followed up their big North Carolina win by holding both North Florida and Stetson to just 45 points each. Kentucky hasn't played since the bad Ohio State performance two on the 21st, leaving a sour taste throughout this past week. The Cats have one final non-conference game on Tuesday against Brown. LSU made quick work of the Delta Devils, the Tigers are now on a three game win streak, even though it has come against three of the nations worst teams. Ole Miss had their worst performance of the season running into a buzzsaw at Memphis. Rebounding continues to be a concern for the Rebels. Mississippi State had the week off after the big win at Memphis, which looks even better now after Memphis just handled Ole Miss. Oklahoma remains one of the nation's last undefeated teams, beating Prairie View A&M on Sunday. The Sooners will face their toughest test yet to open SEC play @ Alabama. South Carolina had the holiday off after the nice Radford win. The Gamecocks have one non-conference game remaining tonight against Presbyterian. Tennessee beat Middle Tennessee on Monday after trailing at halftime. The Vols have one last game before SEC play on Tuesday against Norfolk State. Cam Carr is no longer with the Vols. Texas A&M has followed up their Purdue win with two lopsided mid-major victories. The Aggies defense is currently rated 6th nationally. Vanderbilt plays New Orleans tonight to cap off a potential seven game winning streak heading into SEC play. The 2023 AFCA Division 3 Coach of the Year, Curt Fitzpatrick joins this week's episode as we talk in-depth about his successful football career. Coach Fitzpatrick currently leads the #2 ranked team in the country- the Cortland Red Dragons. Fitzpatrick made history in 2023 becoming the first coach to lead SUNY Cortland to a national title. Curt talks about his playing career, as one of the best players to play at St. John Fisher University, and the impact this had on his coaching career. After his playing career, Fitzpatrick was the assistant at both, Utica University and St. John Fisher. 2013 would be the first head coaching job for Fitzpatrick where he spent the next seven seasons leading the Morrisville Mustangs. Under Fitzpatrick, Morrisville would have 4 winning seasons including one NJAC championship. Since taking the Cortland job in 2020, Fitzpatrick has developed Cortland into an elite program- only losing four games in the last five seasons. Cortland is picking up right where they left off last year, as they're currently ranked #3 in scoring offense, averaging over 50 points per game.
