Chris & Kelsey watch two horror movies set during Easter to get into the holiday spirit and they're both... pretty bad. The Classic Film: Bless the Child (2000) "Cody, a little girl abandoned by her mother and raised by her aunt, a nurse, is kidnapped. The girl's guardian, aided by an F.B.I. agent, learns that Cody has supernatural abilities, and the abductees are a Satanic cult willing to do anything to gain them” (IMDb.com). Bless the Child WISHES it could be End of Days, and that's saying something. The Modern Film: Rottentail (2018) "Peter Cotton, a scientist that works on rabbits and infertility, learns that the military wishes to use his work to create superhuman soldiers. Cotton is bitten by an experimental mutant rabbit and changes into the evil Rottentail” (IMDb.com). Rottentail is dumb and gross and the filmmakers know that, but that's not why it's bad. It can be fun in the way that Troma movies are fun, but it just isn't as good as some of the heavy hitters in that style. Channeling chaos into art, Sharone erupted onto the Denver music scene as a solo artist in 2014 playing local DIY venues; since then she has gone on to play venues such as Marquis Theater, Bluebird Theater, and Gothic Theater, playing festivals, and opening for bands such as One-Eyed-Doll, The Birthday Massacre, Fuel, Saving Abel, Davey Suicide, Tantric, Hell’s Belles, and Stitched Up Heart. The atmospheric and melodramatic music of Evanescence and the psychedelic blues of Black Sabbath inspired Sharone to start performing her music live, and to eventually release her 2017 demo album, Storm. Despite sustaining a dark and nearly melancholy tone on recordings, the gothic artist’s live shows are nothing short of energetic, full of heavy piano riffs, pulsing rhythms, and enthralling theatrics. From emerging from a coffin to jumping off of monitors and captivating contortions, Sharone captures the interest of each audience member through her piercing stage chemistry with her live musicians, and her ever-growing theatrics. In the spring of 2017, the singer left her mark on the Denver music scene with the release of her first rock album ‘Storm’. Following the release, underwent a complete lineup change in her band, and came back stronger than ever with the reincarnation of her dark sound: ‘Enchiridion of Nightmares’ (2018). Sharone followed up the release with three exhilarating summer and fall tours, reaching audiences across the western, central, and eastern United States, and is currently working on her third studio album. This unique rock artist is destined for success in the metal and goth rock realm. Sharone's third studio album, 'Reflection', is out NOW

"It's Friday the 13th" purred master of everything ghoulish and macabre Wednesday 13 when he answered the phone. "Are you safe? I'm like a leprechaun Friday 13 so it's good luck that you are talking to me. You won't get a pot of gold, you won't get any wishes or money but I can protect you from axe-wielding people with hockey masks or sacks over their heads or their mothers so you're safe now."Wednesday 13 returns to Australia later this month, bringing his full rock show after last year performing a more intimate show with a Q & A session and more laid-back approach."This is our first tour of the year," he enthused." We've been on vacation - I won't say vacation because I've been working my ass off - so for some of the other guys it may have been a vacation (laughs). We toured up to the end of November last year and we had some time off to recharge and this will be the first tour of the year so you're getting us fresh out of the mental institution and fresh out of the cage so it should be a fun, entertaining rock show. We have a lot of theatrics and fun things so you can leave your brain at the door and get lost in our world and our show."After releasing the highly acclaimed album Condolences last year, saying at the time that the punk rock vibe had left the building and turned into a full metal vibe - a claim reinforced by the overtly heavier nature of the album - Wednesday admits that while he has started work on his next body of work the nature of the music is far from settled."No," he replied bluntly when asked if that metal vibe was continuing. "The rules always change. There was no rules for last time and there's no rules again. We're still in the early stages of writing but there is a few songs that we have written. One sounds totally punk so I can say that punk has entered the building again (laughs), but how long it will stay and how many punk songs we'll have, who knows? We're just writing as much music as we can. We wanna write good songs. If it's punk, if it's heavy it doesn't matter. At the end of Condolences, we were starting to write more punk sort of stuff but we had enough songs so who knows? I like to keep everything changing. I never want anyone to have me parked in a corner. No-one's ever gonna figure me out and I dare them to try."In a candid discussion, Wednesday also speaks about his introduction to music and exactly where he fits in, the fine line between inspiration and imitation in music as well as the reasons why they will be bringing Davey Suicide along for the ride plus more in the attached audio.Kris Peters

Doyle, Davey Suicide, Malaki, Authentic Sellout, Big Scary Robot Concert Date: June 17, 2017 Venue: Brick By Brick Location: San Diego, CA Review by Yvette Arambula Interview conducted by Justin Goyette Having arrived at the venue close to 10 PM in order to interview the man himself, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, we missed all of the opening bands and most of Davey Suicide before we finally went inside the venue. This night we were trying out a new interviewer, Justin, and what better way to throw him into it than to have him interview one of his idols. Who says COMA can't make dreams come true? Albeit, in a nerve-wracking, slightly terrifying manner. That's what we do. We met up with Doyle's tour manager and he led us into the band wagon. I had never been inside a tour bus, but it was basically what I expected. Doyle was dressed in his signature garb and make-up. After offering us water, we sat down and got the interview rolling. The bus was running the whole time which accounts for that humming background noise. No amount of filters could completely remove it without making the recording sound tinny and less audible. The heavy musk of metal show punched us in the face when we went inside. Davey Suicide was on stage but we were too busy trying to meet up with Justin's wife to pay as much attention as we needed to for a fair review. There was a good crowd inside but it wasn't unbearably full that I ended up with many dozens of DNA samples on my clothing. (I'm talking about shed skin cells that may be floating around people's sweat, not anything more unsavory.) Doyle finally came onstage and the crowd moved towards them. A pretty good mosh pit started going eventually. Justin participated as much as he could without being an asshole. In fact, he actually tried to help one guy up when he fell, but another berserker ran into them and they both fell over in a rather comedic manner. All in good fun. At one point when the pit dispersed for a few minutes, a lonely chancla (word for sandal, flip-flop, slipper, etc. that is often thrown at misbehaving children) was left in the middle of the beer-soaked floor. Its owner shuffled back to it while the coast was still clear. The show was energetic; everyone thrashed about which just added to the kinetic activity as Doyle and Alex moved around the stage. Before each song, Alex would say, “it's kind of like a love song; you can dance if you want,” which if you look at it based on the song titles, they do sound like some kind of twisted odes to “love” as dark creatures know it. You can check out some live footage of the show on our Facebook page.
