Interview by Kris PetersAustralian self-proclaimed metal diva Billie-Jade is counting down the days until the release of her debut EP XI:XI, an album both raw and unapologetically honest full of attitude and spunk while still maintaining an air of vulnerability.After releasing her first single Horror Haus not long after electing to perform as a solo artist back in 2016, Billie-Jade has hardened and refined her sound over recent years with the help of Grammy-winning producer/mixer Mitchell Marlow (New Year's Day, In This Moment, Stitched Up Heart).Since tasting earlier success with Hatchet Dawn and Diamond Noir before going solo, Billie-Jade knows what it takes to be heard in the music industry and has channelled all of that rage and experience into her first solo outing XI:XI which will be released on April 19.HEAVY caught up with Billie-Jade to find out more."I'm so excited," she enthused. "This has been a long time in the making. I did try to go over (to L.A.) for another writing session during COVID and got sent back (laughs). It's been a long time, and I'm just so excited to put out the ideas. There was one track I wrote in a writing session with Mitch when I first met him, which is Scream. That's the first track on the EP, and the rest I wrote with him later on. I'm just so excited to get all those ideas out together as an EP."In the full interview, Billie-Jade discussed her upcoming debut EP XI:XI in greater detail, providing insights into the creative process behind each song and the personal significance of the title. She emphasized the empowering themes of her music and the importance of working with a producer who understands her vision and more.
The conversation starts on Mixi's musical background and how she started her journey in the industry with open mic nights, until she decided to move and to take things more professionally. Mike Z will be joined by legendary Anthrax singer Joey Belladonna this Saturday night at 10pm for "Wired In The Empire" on 96.7 KCAL Rocks. Joey's Journey cover band: Beyond Frontiers will be performing at Rock & Brews inside Yaamava next Friday, August 25th which we'll get into with him along with some Anthrax talk. Plus new jams from: Ayron Jones, Dirty Honey and Stitched Up Heart -get electrified every Saturday night at 10pm
Stitched Up Heart began in 2010 in LA and since has become a force in the female-fronted metal band world. When their second album was released right at the start of a global pandemic it seemed like the wind may have been taken out of their sails without the ability to bring their brand of heavy music to the masses on stages worldwide. Now they are ready to right the ship as their 3rd album To The Wolves is almost ready for release and our taste so far is, shall we say, aggressive. Mixi is back on the Cutting Edge Countdown and Cutter's Rockcast and not only to we get into about music and touring, Mixi opens up about her vocal chord surgery and her passion of doing some animal rescue.
Make sure the dog gets his singing credits! Mixi and Merrit of Stitched Up Heart are this week's guests on Discover New Music. The band's new album "To The Wolves" drops September 1st and the band has an even heavier sound they can't wait for fans to hear! Plus another round of Rapid Fire gets weird as usual!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Overkill's Bobby Blitz joins Mike Z tonight at 10pm for "Wired In The Empire" on 96.7 KCAL Rocks. Ezúttal is a változatosságra törekedtünk.

Channeling chaos into art, Sharone erupted onto the Denver music scene as a solo artist in 2014 playing local DIY venues; since then she has gone on to play venues such as Marquis Theater, Bluebird Theater, and Gothic Theater, playing festivals, and opening for bands such as One-Eyed-Doll, The Birthday Massacre, Fuel, Saving Abel, Davey Suicide, Tantric, Hell’s Belles, and Stitched Up Heart. The atmospheric and melodramatic music of Evanescence and the psychedelic blues of Black Sabbath inspired Sharone to start performing her music live, and to eventually release her 2017 demo album, Storm. Despite sustaining a dark and nearly melancholy tone on recordings, the gothic artist’s live shows are nothing short of energetic, full of heavy piano riffs, pulsing rhythms, and enthralling theatrics. From emerging from a coffin to jumping off of monitors and captivating contortions, Sharone captures the interest of each audience member through her piercing stage chemistry with her live musicians, and her ever-growing theatrics. In the spring of 2017, the singer left her mark on the Denver music scene with the release of her first rock album ‘Storm’. Following the release, underwent a complete lineup change in her band, and came back stronger than ever with the reincarnation of her dark sound: ‘Enchiridion of Nightmares’ (2018). Sharone followed up the release with three exhilarating summer and fall tours, reaching audiences across the western, central, and eastern United States, and is currently working on her third studio album. This unique rock artist is destined for success in the metal and goth rock realm. Sharone's third studio album, 'Reflection', is out NOW
Opa, chegando com o Total Distortion de número 55, nesta edição temos um mix eclético, ou seria ecumênico? Mas sempre com muita distorçao, é claro! começando com sons pesados de groove metal e metalcore, mas claramente influenciados pelo lado mais pop da força. Estou falando de Stitched-Up Heart e I Prevail. Também temos modern do rock do bom com Black River Drive e Sleepkillers, projeto que envolve a galera do Limp Bizkit, Puddle of Mudd e Saliva. Também temos blocos influenciados por country e blues (só que fazendo uma salada que vai de black metal a hard rock no meio disso tudo) e bandas muito legais incluindo Whiskey Myers, Zeal & Ardor, The Blue Stones e Blacktop Mojo. No bloco das velharias, ressuscitamos a saudosa (e louca) Courtney Love e o querido Hole e também os malucos do Presidents of The U.S.A. com um som que não foi tão hit mas é tão legal quanto as conhecidas! Som na caixa! Tracklist: - Stitched-Up Heart - This Skin; - I Prevail - Hurricane; - Black River Drive - Quicksand; - SLEEPKILLERS - Dirty Foot; - Whiskey Myers - Gasoline; - Zeal & Ardor - Ship On Fire; - The Blue Stones - Shakin' Off the Rust; - Blacktop Mojo - Can't Sleep; - Hole - Doll Parts; - Presidents of the USA - Mach 5;

Profoundly.me is an app going around Facebook where you can ask a person anything and do anonymously. I posted it and let people ask me questions and I then applied at a conversation between Kaytie and I. So not only do I answer these Profoundly questions but so does Kaytie. Also opens up the conversation about commenting via social media and the negative effects it can have on bands. Like posting dildos pictures next to Taylor Momsen pictures, or only commenting about Mixi from Stitched Up Heart's boobs when they post a new song. This episode is definitely not safe for work.

Dallas, Texas based As Strange As Angels is former Murder FM front man Norman Matthew's passion project. The band's new single "Mirror Mirror" is out now and crushing it at all radio and video outlets. The single is also the title track from their forthcoming debut EP, which drops on April 26th. After Murder FM went on hiatus in 2016, Norman focused on raising his son after a divorce rocked his personal life. While juggling the work of running his music school, The Sound Foundation, and his fatherly duties, he found the turmoil that he was going through was beginning to come out in the music that he was writing. "For the first time, rather than speaking to the song, I let the song speak to me. I had never written lyrics that were a parallel of my life. Then I realized, I have a voice, and I need to be a voice for the voiceless." The result of that reflection is the new 4 song EP "Mirror Mirror", which Matthew has aptly dubbed "heart rock": From the heart, for the heart, by the heart. Say what you feel, and feel what you say. The title track was co-written and produced by former RA front man Sahaj Ticotin (Starset, Sevendust, Stitched Up Heart). The other 3 tracks - "Love and Death” (which features CJ Pierce Of Drowning Pool on guitar), “Days Go Bye”, and “Right Beside You” were produced by Norman and Mick Kenney (Motionless In White). The recording features a heavy and melodic sound that is instantly familiar and yet unique - and is unlike most of the other music that is currently out in the Rock world. As Strange As Angels has previously released a single "Waves" in 2017. Throughout his career Norman Matthew has shared the stage with rock luminaries Rob Zombie, Korn, Deftones, Five Finger Death Punch, The Pretty Reckless, and Gemini Syndrome. He has also appeared on the Vans Warped Tour. Says Norman: “As Strange As Angels is a story with many chapters - each chapter needed to be given its own soundtrack. Whatever felt right, I ran with…. I didn’t care about genre and labels. I just needed a vessel to call my own as a mechanism to communicate what I was thinking and feeling. I’m so thankful for all the amazing people who have helped me bring this release to life. Those who picked me up along the way, never gave up and never stopped believing in me. Plenty of people let go at a time when I needed them the most. But I channeled that and let it fuel me. I took a step back and learned how to live life again. As Strange As Angels is a testament to that - a gift in many ways. I owe much of myself to all those that kept my blood flowing and my heart going - and I owe all of myself to my son.” Connect and Share with As Strange As Angels Official website: https://www.asstrangeasangels.com/ iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1454891691?ls=1&app=itunes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AsStrangeAsAngels/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/asstrangeasangels/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/angels_strange Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGRDyAIvsbWo9sYKv-M4a5w Bands in Town: https://www.bandsintown.com/a/14805247-as-strange-as-angels
When you’re truly passionate about something in your life, don’t give up. Mixi from the band Stitched Up Heart lived by these words in the early going of the bands career. In most cases with a band, it’s a bit of a grind to get going. Stitched Up Heart had to pay their dues to get to the point where they’re at today. Mixi lived out of her car the first year of the band. Even delivered pizzas to make a little extra money. Fast forward to the present and Stitched Up Heart was apart of an all female lineup earlier this year featuring Halestorm, In This Moment, and New Years Day. Touring and new music is on the agenda moving forward.New album in the works after the success of “Catch Me When I Fall”, “Monster” and “Finally Free” in years past. New studios this go-around after the congerire of items surrounding them where “Monster” was recorded. A black cat gave birth to two albino cats and spell books on the shelves. Friendlier and less creepy quarters have been used to enhance the creative experience. The superstitious type would be scared off by a black cat, not Mixi and the rest of Stitched Up Heart. Animal lovers themselves, and do things for animal foundations regularly. Mixi touched on her journey of going through the process of becoming sober. An easy thing to get wrapped up in while on tour. She reached a point where she just didn’t want to drink anymore. Holding strong in situations to this day. She admits it’s a hard struggle at times. Partying with Lzzy Hale and crew, she’ll opted for a shot of water instead. Overall, she feels that it has helped her writing. Expect new music from Stitched Up Heart soon! Hear Mixi on episode 60 of the DOMKcast with Lunchbox and Promo Brady.
