On episode 150 of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Trauma Therapy! Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trauma Therapy is a metalcore/rock band that formed in 2022. With influences ranging from Motionless In White, Dayseeker, and Bad Omens, Trauma Therapy's goal is to connect with listeners by sharing their real life experiences with mental health and perseverance through trauma. That goal is embodied in Trauma Therapy's debut single "Fix My Heart." The emotionally charged track deals with singer Chris Carrington's real life experiences as a therapy patient, and the everyday happenings that accompanied his coping and healing journey. Released on August 23rd, "Fix My Heart" also has an equally emotional music video which features Chris' wife, Jill, who is the lead singer in Charlotte-based rock band Forever May Fall.   Since its release, "Fix My Heart" is already resonating with music fans. In less than a month, the music video is nearing 10,000 views on YouTube, while the single is approaching 10,000 streams on Spotify alone. Working with the likes of Pangea Productions (Killakoi), Will Baker (Hollow Intent), Cody Weissinger (The Funeral Portrait), and Colt Crevar (Forever May Fall), Trauma Therapy is just scratching the surface of their potential and creativity in the metalcore and modern rock realms, with more music on the way. In this episode, Chris and drummer Aaron Kirkland talk with Mike about how they linked up for Trauma Therapy, how they got into music, Chris' mental health journey, how "Fix My Heart" came to be, Jill's support and companionship through Chris' struggles and healing, the music they're working on, and more. On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Colt Crevar and Adam "Crabby" Crabtree of Forever May Fall! Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Forever May Fall is a four-piece rock band that's on the rise. Founded in 2017 by vocalist and songwriter Jillyan "Fox" Brennan, Forever May Fall is rounded out by Crevar (guitar/vocals), Crabby (drums), and Patrick "Sweez" Swesey (bass). After releasing their self-titled, debut LP in 2019, Forever May Fall had their momentum halted from the COVID-19 pandemic and a lineup change. Since that time, the band has honed their craft and polished their sound with the new lineup.  With influences ranging from Evanescence, Bad Omens, Halestorm, Underoath, and Spiritbox, Forever May Fall has put their songwriting and musical chops on full display since the pandemic. Their 2022 single "Aftermath" has garnered over 350,000 streams on Spotify alone, while the music video for their latest single "Who You Are" has over 59,000 YouTube views since its August 2023 release. Having worked with producers like Joshua Landry (Motionless in White, LØ Spirit, Funeral Portrait), Kile Odell, (Fozzy, Motionless in White, Nita Strauss) and Wes Lauterbach (Lowborn), Forever May Fall is just scratching the surface of their potential with new music in store for 2024. In this episode, Colt and Crabby catch up with Mike about what they've been up to since the last time they spoke, including their tour earlier this year with their friends in MKNLY, meeting new fans on the road who love their music, what it's been like to see the streams and music video views for Forever May Fall continue to rise, defining what success means to them, the importance of mental health, the new music the band has in store for 2024, and more. Send us a Text Message.Danny Worsnop, born on September 4, 1990, in Beverley, East Yorkshire, England, is best known as the lead vocalist of the British rock band Asking Alexandria. His distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence have been central to the band's success and evolution over the years.Worsnop co-founded Asking Alexandria in 2008 alongside guitarist Ben Bruce. The band quickly gained traction in the metalcore scene with their debut album, Stand Up and Scream, released in 2009. This album was characterized by its heavy breakdowns, electronic elements, and Worsnop's powerful screams and melodic singing. It helped establish the band as a force within the genre, and Worsnop's dynamic vocal abilities were a significant factor in this rise.Following the success of their debut, Asking Alexandria released Reckless & Relentless in 2011. This album marked a shift towards a more rock-oriented sound while retaining their metalcore roots. Worsnop's versatility as a vocalist was showcased through his ability to switch seamlessly between harsh and clean vocals, contributing to the album's critical and commercial success. In 2013, the band released From Death to Destiny, further evolving their sound. This album leaned more towards hard rock and featured Worsnop exploring a wider range of vocal styles. His performance on tracks like "The Death of Me" and "Moving On" highlighted his growth as a singer and songwriter. However, in 2015, Worsnop parted ways with Asking Alexandria to focus on other musical endeavors, including his rock band We Are Harlot and a solo career. During this period, he explored different genres, showcasing his versatility as an artist. His solo work, particularly the album The Long Road Home, delved into country and blues influences, demonstrating his ability to adapt and excel in various musical styles. In a surprising turn of events, Worsnop rejoined Asking Alexandria in 2016. We had the pleasure of interviewing Silent Planet over Zoom video!Every once in a while, wildflowers will sprout en masse in the middle of the California desert. Known as a “SUPERBLOOM,”this phenomenon paints lush colors across a traditionally arid and barren landscape. The emergence and evolution of Silent Planet mirrors this phenomenon. Since 2009, the California quartet—Garrett Russell [vocals, guitar], Mitchell Stark [guitar], Alex Camerena [drums], and Nick Pocock [bass]—have set themselves apart in the realm of heavy music. Amplifying hypnotic hooks across alternately raw and rich soundscapes steeped in hardcore, post-rock, metal, and ambient textures, the award-winning group has generated tens of millions of streams and earned tastemaker praise. Now, the musicians tell a story as massive as their sound on their aptly titled fifth full-length offering, SUPERBLOOM [Solid State Records].Silent Planet has consistently transfixed a diehard fanbase. The group dropped a string of acclaimed albums, including The Night God Slept [2014], Everything Was Sound [2016], When The End Began [2018], and Iridescent [2021]—which Hysteria hailed as “a vulnerable and emotional LP.” Not to mention, album standout “Trilogy” generated 5.3 million Spotify streams to sit alongside their genre-bending triumph “Panic Room” from the 2016 release, currently at 5 million. The guys notably took home “Best Underground Band” at the 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards and toured with the likes of Motionless In White, August Burns Red, Beartooth, and The Contortionist.Over the course of two years, they recorded what would become SUPERBLOOM in Woodland Hills, CA alongside longtime producer and frequent collaborator Daniel Braunstein. A jarring turn of events split the process into two seasons. Trekking through a Wyoming snowstorm in November 2022, Silent Planet survived a vehicle accident. The van flipped over, leaving the group laying in the wreckage of a bitter Wyoming snowstorm as Garrett was hospitalized with a fractured back and head wound requiring stitches.Along the way, they settled on a conceptual framework, expanding the scope of their vision like never before.Silent Planet initially teased the record with “:Signal:” followed by “Antimatter.” On the latter, spacey electronic transmissions buzz. Pivoting on a dime, it dissolves into a stomping industrial groove offset by synth swells.“It's the conclusion of the story we're telling,” he says. “This is the finale. There are different levels of a close encounter. It's a close encounter of the fifth kind. It's the destination of the music.”In the end, Silent Planet continues to elevate and uplift heavy music to another dimension. We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing SAUL over Zoom video!Saul issue a call for connection in their music. The Iowa quartet—brothers Blake Bedsaul [lead vocals] and Zach Bedsaul [lead guitar, backup vocals], William McIlravy [bass, backup vocals], and Myles Clayborne [drums]—continue to bring audiences together with a one-two punch of precise and pummeling metallic grooves and towering magnetic melodies. Amassing tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, and many more, the group fortify an unbreakable bond with listeners on their second full-length offering, THIS IS IT…THE END OF EVERYTHING [Spinefarm].Saul emerged out of the Midwest in 2017 and tirelessly bulldozed a path to the forefront of modern rock. They notably performed alongside everyone from Motionless In White, Atreyu, August Burns Red, Crown The Empire, Bush, and 10 Years to HELLYEAH and Nonpoint in addition to gracing the stages of festivals, including Rebel Rock, Rock Fest, Rock USA, Inkcarceration, and Blue Ridge Rock Fest with Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, and Slipknot. The group independently landed a bona fide hit in the form of “Brother”—an homage to the co-founders' late brother Caleb. It marked their first #1 on Sirius/XM Octane in addition to gathering over 9 million Spotify streams and paving the way for their 2020 full-length debut, Rise As Equals. Co-written with David Draiman of Disturbed, “King Of Misery” reeled in 3.7 million Spotify streams, while “Trial By Fire” also surpassed 3 million Spotify streams. Of the former, American Songwriter praised“‘King of Misery' wasted no time jumping into the heavy mainstream riffs that Saul set out to wrangle,” and Outburn hailed its “futuristic and cinematic video.”Expanding the sonic palette, the guys collaborated with producer Kile Odell [Motionless In White, Nita Strauss] this time around. They initially teased this chapter with “JACK & JILL,” which tempers a hypnotic harmony with a heavy groove. On its heels, they unleashed the single “A MILLION MILES.” Co-written with Johnny Andrews [Three Days Grace, Starset, Theory of a Deadman], a seesawing riff and electrifying melody give way to a chant-able chorus laced with raw emotion befitting of the central theme.Hummable keys set the tone for “RUNAWAY,” dissolving into a harmonic riff. The breathy verses break like a wave on a refrain tailor-made for a live singalong, “Treat me like a runaway, because I'm vanishing. I don't think I'll be missed.”An ominous sample snaps into a pummeling chug on the opener “TOOTH & NAIL.” Clean vocals snake through the verses towards a warning, “There's no escape.”Then, there's “BETTER AS A MEMORY.” It swings between schizophrenic extremes highlighted by unpredictable instrumental dynamics and a heart-wrenching vocal performance, “Deep down you know, I'd be better as a memory.”In the end, Saul create the soundtrack for breaking free.We want to hear from you! Founded in 2017 by vocalist and songwriter Jillyan "Fox" Brennan, Forever May Fall is rounded out by Colt Crevar (guitar), Patrick "Sweez" Swesey (bass), and Adam "Crabby" Crabtree (drums). After releasing their self-titled, debut LP in 2019, Forever May Fall had their momentum halted from the COVID-19 pandemic and a lineup change. Since that time, the band has honed their craft and polished their sound with the new lineup.  With influences that include the likes of Evanescence, Bad Omens, Halestorm, Underoath, and Spiritbox, Forever May Fall has put their songwriting and musical chops on full display since the pandemic. Their 2022 single "Aftermath" has garnered over 221,000 streams on Spotify alone, while the music video for their latest single "Who You Are" has over 35,000 YouTube views since its August 2023 release. Having worked with producers like Joshua Landry (Motionless in White, LØ Spirit, Funeral Portrait), Kile Odell, (Fozzy, Motionless in White, Nita Strauss) and Wes Lauterbach (Lowborn), Forever May Fall is just scratching the surface of their potential in the modern rock charts. That potential has even been recognized locally in Charlotte by the Queen City Nerve, who listed the band in the "Best Potential Breakout Artist" category for their "Best in the Nest 2023" nominations. In this episode, Jill, Colt, Patrick, and Adam talk with Mike about how they got into rock music, the thought and creativity they put into their releases, the meaning behind both the music video symbolism and lyrics of their latest single "Who You Are," persevering through negativity, and more. Great to talk with Chris and Maria from in This Moment. They're currently out on the Dark Horizon tour with Motionless In White, From Ashes To New and Fit For A King. This fall they hit the road with Kiss Of Death tour with Ice Nine Kills, Avatar and New Year's Day.  We talked about what got them into the theatrical side of rock/metal music. Chris pointed to KISS, Marie pointed to Marilyn Manson and anything thing that strikes a visual chord.  "We're bringing a lot of new bells and whistles" Maria commented on the currant stage show. There's a lot that goes into a ITM show, and Maria kept bringing up the fact that there's more fire than ever before.  The new album Godmode comes out October 27th. Chris told me that making this album they took a lot more time. Plus, working with Kane Churko, instead of his father, Kevin. "Working with him brought a whole new level of intensity to the project." The Purge is the latest single, as they told me how that song's been kicking around for a while. Maria talked about created songs and her writing process. We also talked about the creative element that the band brings to the videos. "I don't have people write for me." Maria said. She's very hands-on when it comes to everything In This Moment.  As far as Godmode is concerned...There's a cover on the album - "Army of Me" There's one collaboration on the record. "It's a little darker than we normally tend to be." Maria said about the overall vibe of the new music. It's more experimental. It's more progy, as well. "It definitely is" Chris added.  We talked horror movies as well. I could talk horror flicks all day. Surprisingly, Maria said "Certain horror I can't watch and won't watch. It will get into my head too much." She went on to elaborate about that.  As far as their stage getup is concerned, Chris told me "You're literally putting on the persona and this costume to go out and be something else for the time that you're doing it." "I love dressing up, becoming these characters and having this other side of me be invoked, for sure." Maria commented as far as her stage persona goes.  This is a really fun conversation....a huge thanks to Maria and Chris! -Meltdown- https://wrif.com/podcasts/talkin-rock-with-meltdown/

After spending countless years as a young, hopeful musician, hoping to make it in the music industry, he toured across the United States and unfortunately never got to a point he was satisfied with. He quickly realized he should give another passion of his a shot, which was news and broadcasting, and attended Missouri Western State University in Missouri, and graduated with a degree in mass, communications and economics. After a wide array of jobs, such as a loan officer, a digital marketing coordinator, and honestly way too many others to name.
