"I am going to take you on a ride where I will challenge you to back down or go with me," Parrish Smith says in the interview below. "If you don't like to do this, and you see a glimpse of me, you will dislike me. But the second time it happens again, I will be there to change your mind again, just to be challenged." It's a confident, confrontational idea that goes with an unusually confrontational RA Podcast, a mix that represents a truly free spirit in the European dance scene. Smith, who also moonlights in the band Volition Immanent with fellow Dutch trailblazer Mark Knekelhuis, makes and plays hard, aggressive techno. But instead of gabber BPMs and overdriven kick drums, he directly incorporates ideas, sounds and influences from rock, punk and metal, a tricky combination that he nails like few others have been able to. (Just check his album Light, Cruel & Vain.) Case in point: this mix blends Regis, Tzusing and Playboi Carti with Sepultura, Juno Reactor and Celldweller. It's a journey to the end of aesthetics, where opposites don't attract so much as crash and melt into each other. It's a fierce hour-and-a-half but never quite overbearing or overwhelming, gracefully weaving in and out of chaos like the work of someone who knows the real impact and art of heavy music. @parrishsmith Read more at https://ra.co/podcast/874

Voicians on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 1/25/22 About the Voicians - The eponymous project of Dan Voicians captures an electrifying hybrid of electronic rock music. At moments it's theatrical; at moments it's dark and brooding; at moments it's undeniably energetic — it's simply Voicians. Paralleling the otherwise contrasting worlds of both electronic music production and modern vocalism, aptly-named Voicians has manifested a deeply-rooted sense of introspection and directed it into the multifaceted performance powerhouse he is today. German-born Daniel Voicians has thrust forward a wave of decorated releases with worldwide support from pioneering artists such as Deadmau5, Celldweller, Jauz, Flux Pavilion, Danny Byrd, Fox Stevenson and many more. His unique fusion of styles has inspired collaborations and remixes with artists ranging from Celldweller, Muzzy, Maduk, The Qemists, Zardonic, Pythius and more. Galvanized by an unapologetic love for the music, he's received massive international support across an array of platforms for his original productions on Liquicity EP, his Wasteland LP that narrates a direct sense of self expression, and more recently a highly-sought cover of Eric Prydz & Rob Swire's "Breathe". Voicians has written/produced originals, collaborations and remixes released on the labels FiXT, Hospital Records, Liquicity Records, NoCopyrightSounds, Monstercat, Position Music and Universal. Voicians' music has been heard by millions of listeners around the world, by connecting with a core audience of gamers and electronic music fans, through YouTube & Twitch streams, Spotify playlists, Film/TV/Video Game licensing and social media. Voicians has written/produced originals, collaborations and remixes released on the labels FiXT, Hospital Records, Liquicity Records, NoCopyrightSounds, Monstercat, Position Music and Universal. In addition, his stylistic ability behind a pair of decks is widely-known to parallel his brilliance behind a microphone. His creative revolution has garnered him an insurmountable flurry of diehard followers anxiously- awaiting this fresh young talent's next move. Yes, we get it: The goth scene and the dubstep crowd didn't exactly mix well. We find that a shame because the music shares so many of the same aggressive, noisy qualities that rivetheads and EBM fans enjoy. Submitted for your consideration, then — a selection of dubstep songs that just might help you change your perspective! Enter this Chapter with an open mind, and you may find some new music to listen to. We'd like to thank Heather for this Chapter's listener submission!
