Doctrine of God by Shalem Velpula
An episode from Queanbeyan Bible Baptist Church (QBBC), a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located near Canberra, NSW Australia. What QBBC believes about the Holy Bible: That both verbal and plenary inspiration applies to the Scriptures known as the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Canon. That is, that God literally breathed His words and that every part of the Scriptures is the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16. We believe that God preserved His words as he promised to do. These words are preserved in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek exactly the way He intended them to be without need of addition or subtraction to any part of them. Deuteronomy 4:2; Psalm 12:6-7. We also believe that the doctrine of inspiration is of no value without the doctrine of preservation. What QBBC believes about Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:1-14), that He is fully God while at the same time being fully man. (Isaiah 9:6), that He is perfect in every way. (Hebrews 4:15), that He is the only way of salvation (John 14:6), that He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), that He lived a sinless life, died on a cross at Calvary, was buried, arose bodily from the dead, ascended to Heaven, sits at the right hand of God the Father's throne making intercession for Believers, will meet His Bride in the air in the rapture, and will return bodily to the earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth. Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 8:34; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 2 Timothy 2:8; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:4. What QBBC believes about the Holy Ghost: That He is fully God. That He resides within the body of every born-again Believer. 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20; Ephesians 5:18. That He is referred to as the Comforter and the Spirit in the Scriptures. John 14:16, 26. That He reproves the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. John 16:7-11. That He baptizes every Believer into the Body of Christ at the time of conversion and seals them for eternity. John 3:5-8; Romans 6:3; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 1:13; 4:4-5, 30. That He will bear fruit in the life of the Believer and is actively trying to mold them into the image of Christ. Romans 8:23-29; Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Corinthians 3:18. That He makes intercession on behalf of Believers according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27. We need help knowing how to apply the gospel to our everyday lives. Here Paul breaks down the church into age-and-stage groups and tells each one of us what godly living in accordance with the truth looks like. What practical teaching—and how badly we need it!

Does plausibility and beauty matter in our doctrine of God? Mark Talbot says "no." To him, all that matters is what we find in the Bible. But is this enough? Pastor Dan's sermon on "The Doctrine of God's Grace" emphasized the importance of teaching the gospel, which drives the mission and spiritual growth of believers. He highlighted that focusing on the grace of God helps avoid vain discussions and promotes love, pure heart, and sincere faith. Additionally, the sermon stressed the role of the Old Testament law in pointing us toward God's grace, urging believers to depend on God for salvation and to stay committed to proclaiming His grace. #GodsGrace #GospelMission #SpiritualGrowth #Faith #DependOnGod
Francis Schaeffer said, “Ideas have consequences.” If people believe false ideas, they inevitably act on them in disastrous ways. The only solution to such false ideas is to replace them with the truth. Theology and doctrine matter. In this series, we will work through important doctrine for followers of Jesus to understand as they strive to follow Jesus. This week, we explore the Doctrine of God. Text: Deuteronomy 6:4-6 ESV & Matthew 22:34-40 ESV Speaker: Michael Bayne

In 1842 Joseph Smith published 13 articles of faith for his new Mormon church. In this episode we talk about the first article, which is all about God. How does it compare to biblical Christianity?Find the official LDS Article of Faith at their website here. LDS:“We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.”This sounds trinitarianLDS:Father has a body of flesh and bones, D&C 130:22.I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory, JS—H 1:17.ordained in … the Council of the Eternal God of all other gods, D&C 121:32.AC: We believe in a sovereign, triune God. By His power He spoke the world into existence. God alone is self-determined, self-governed, and self-sufficient. He is eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each possesses all the attributes of deity. All are equal in power and glory. (Rom. 1:18-20; John 1:18; 1 Cor. 2:16; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19; Isa. 46:10).AC: We believe Jesus Christ was, is, and always will be the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed many signs and wonders, died on a cross, and rose from the dead in a glorified body. He ascended to the right hand of God the Father where He continually makes intercession for His people. At the appointed time He will come again to earth to consummate God's plan in salvation history. At the point of salvation the Holy Spirit immediately indwells believers and begins empowering them to live to please God. If youth workers aren't teaching teenagers about God then how can we call what we're doing "ministry"? The doctrine of God is a topic that people tend to either take for granted or they are intimidated by it's grandeur. This conversation highlights some of the core aspects of the doctrine of God and why it's so important to talk about with teenagers. What is the vision behind the “Theology for Every Person” series? People are easily intimidated by the word “theology.” Why is it so important to promote theology for normal believers? Why start with the doctrine of God and not the doctrine of Scripture/Revelation? Could you give us an overview of the doctrine of God, what does that involve? Does someone need to believe in the Trinity in order to be a Christian? What about the new believer? Our audience is primarily youth pastors and volunteer youth workers… what advice do you have for them in talking about the Trinity and doctrine of God with teenagers, in a way that is simple to understand and doctrinally sound? Advice about a youth teaching series about the attributes of God? Dr. Malcolm Yarnell serves as Research Professor of Theology at SWBTS and as Teaching Pastor at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, TX, among other things. He's also written or contributed to many theology books – his latest project is a three-part series entitled “Theology for Every Person” and the first book has just been released, which focuses on the doctrine of God. Jeremiah 9:23-24 “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, [a]judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these, I delight,” says the Lord. Luke 4:17-19

Is there a God? What is He like? Does He hear my prayers and is He active in the world? We have many questions about God and how we answer those questions has a profound impact on our lives. Join us as Jacob Surratt guides us through what God reveals about Himself in His Word.
This episode is a discussion of my newest book The Doctrine of God: A Defense of Classical Christian Theism.
In this episode, James and I introduce a new series we're beginning on the Doctrine of God. In doing so, our prayer for our listeners is much like that of the Apostle Peter for his readers - that you might "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18) and like that of the Apostle Paul to the Colossians - that you might be "bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:10) We believe that the Doctrine of God is the most important doctrine in the Bible and in this episode we give a number of reasons why!"Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts, boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth." (Jeremiah 9:23-24)
