We're half way through Genesis! This week, Pastor Roger looks at chapter 25. Don't trade what matters—eternal covenant, calling, and legacy—for the immediate pleasures of appetite or convenience. Using Abraham's final decisions, God's faithful movement across generations, and the Esau–Jacob episode, the sermon argues that small, habitual choices form destiny and that finishing well requires clarity, trust, and intentional handing off of spiritual momentum. -Featuring Roger Hirth
Tune in as Pastor Bryan unpacks the longest chapter in Genesis. Chapter 24 is presented as a layered story: a historical account of how Isaac met Rebekah, a covenantal bridge for Abraham's promise, and a typological foreshadowing of the gospel. The sermon unpacks the chapter through four characters—Abraham, the servant, Rebekah, and Isaac—drawing practical lessons for discerning God's will and living by faith. -Featuring Bryan Ost
This week Pastor Roger looks at the second half of Genesis 22 and all of Genesis 23. He looks at how Abraham experiences the grief of Sarah's death-- intentionally, deeply-- and then appropriately moving on. We see in these chapters what it looks like to have hope in the midst of life's challenges, looking to our hope of a future with God. -Featuring Roger Hirth

Tune in as Pastor Ray unpacks Genesis 21:9-22:14 where he unpacks two scenes-- Hagar and Ismael in the wilderness of desperation and Abraham and Isaac on the mountain of testing. Where human provision runs out and where things don't make sense, God provides. Ultimately, God provides Himself. In Christ, we have all we need! -Featuring Ray Grubbs

Some of us feel like we're “waiting on God”…but if we're honest, we're also trying to help Him make sure that dream happens. You're watching people get the job, the house, the engagement, the marriage, or the very thing you felt like God promised you, while your own life feels slow, unclear, or like it's not moving at all.So you start thinking maybe you need to do more, say more, fix more, plan better, be better.Maybe if you send the text.Maybe if you don't miss the opportunity.Maybe if you just try a little harder… things will finally fall into place. And on the outside, it looks like you're being proactive, but on the inside, it feels like pressure… like if you don't hold it all together, it might not happen.I've been there too.In this episode, we're talking about control and the difference between waiting and interfering, and how control can secretly take over even when you genuinely love God and want to trust Him.Because surrender isn't just about what we say, it's about what we do when nothing is happening, when the timeline doesn't make sense, and when everyone else seems to be moving ahead. If you've been feeling behind, anxious about your future, or like you have to make something happen before it's “too late”… this is for you.Because surrendering it to Him is always better. Pastor Loïs unpacks Genesis 20 to contrast the tension found between Abraham and Abimelech to show how we often rationalize sin. In our mess-ups, God intervenes and extends mercy. We then hear of the birth of the promised son, Isaac in Genesis 21:1-8. It's finally happened; God was faithful to His promise! -Featuring Loïs Renaud

Let's listen as Pastor Bryan unpacks Genesis 19. This may indeed look like a bleak story but it is full of God's mercy. Here we unpack four dramatic scenes that show the importance of keeping our eyes on Jesus through the windshield of life instead of trying to "walk into resurrection life while staring into yesterday's mirror." -Featuring Bryan

Pastor Roger unpacks chapter 18 looking at Abraham as a friend of God. What does it take to have such a relationship with our Lord and Savior? Abraham embraced the unexpected, displayed humility, and served. Thankfully, Jesus calls us friends (John 15:15) by grace and through faith. -Featuring Roger Hirth

As Pastor Loïs continues our series, we get into a key passage of Genesis, the covenant God makes with Abraham. Tune in as Pastor Loïs unpacks what impact this has for us today. We see in Abraham a model of trust in the promises of God. Here, a promise God makes to uphold both sides of the covenant. The LORD swears by Himself, there is not higher authority! We can trust His faithfulness! -Featuring Loïs Renaud

Pastor Bryan discusses several faithful choices Abram made in Genesis 13-14. A big idea of his sermon is that "every decision you make reveals your allegiance." That is, our decisions show which king we're aligned with. We should be aligned to the right King, Jesus! The King of Peace and Righteousness. Like Abram, lets renounce "Sodom" and receive "Salem." -Featuring Bryan Ost

This week, Pastor Roger kicks off Part 2 of our series in Genesis, Abraham. He looks at God's call to Abram to leave his city and family and go to the land God will show him. Instead of going all the way, he settles with his father and family in Haran, on the border of the promised land. Tune is as we see the importance of obedience to God's call and the benefits of humility as we walk with Him. -Featuring Roger Hirth

As humans we have a tendency to be passive and self-centered. We stand back and wait for life to come to us and we choose things on the basis of how much pleasure or benefit we get out of them. Both of these are poor attitudes in any situation, but when it comes to our relationship with God they are exactly the opposite of what we should do. In this chapter of Genesis Abraham models qualities which should be foundational for every person's worship life. It's true we are reading about a very unusual encounter between someone and God, but the way Abraham reacted that afternoon was anything but passive or self-centered. He was a man who loved the Lord and who God referred to as His "friend" (Isa 41:18; 2Ch 20:7; Jas 2:23), and we would be wise to observe the way he treated the Lord and do likewise when we worship Him. Bible StudyDon't just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: .Sermon NotesIntroductionIllustration: rise of genetic testing → search for ancestry & health.Studying Exodus is like doing “spiritual DNA testing” → roots of Christian identity & health.Aim: overview of Exodus → background + major themes.I. Exodus as Continuation of Genesis (1:1–7)Begins with “And…” → continuation, not a new story.Recap of Genesis: Abraham, covenant, Joseph in Egypt.Exodus picks up with Israel flourishing in Egypt (v.7).Problem: they are numerous, but not in the Promised Land; now enslaved.II. The Overarching Theme: Covenant RelationshipGod's actions in Exodus (plagues, Red Sea, Law, Tabernacle) flow from covenant.Definition of covenant:A relationship, based in grace.God commits himself fully.Calls for trusting, faithful obedience.Leads to blessing and flourishing.God remembers his covenant with Abraham (Ex. 2:24).III. Three Sub-Themes of ExodusDeliverance (ch. 1–18)God rescues Israel from slavery in Egypt.Freedom is not doing whatever we want, but serving God.Law (ch. 19–24)The 10 Commandments as a gift, not legalism.Law preserves freedom & teaches human flourishing.Presence (ch. 25–40)God dwells with his people in the Tabernacle. Not a distant God—he desires to be near.IV. Fulfillment in ChristCovenant: Jesus establishes the new covenant in his blood (Luke 22:20).Deliverance: Cross and Resurrection free us from sin, Satan, and death.Law: Jesus fulfills the Law and teaches true Kingdom living.Presence: Jesus “tabernacles” among us (John 1:14); the Spirit now dwells in believers.Discussion Questions:What's your general feeling about the Old Testament? How is a covenant different from other relationships? What's the difference between "freedom from" vs. "freedom for"? How does that apply to a relationship with God? Where do we see that in Exodus? How can you tell when God's Law is being misused or abused?
