Will and Jay don't fail to see the irony in recording their biggest episode yet with Brendon Small. They cover everything from his new Galaktikon material to his early days of bombing in front of an audience and how he grew from it as an artist. They discuss the intricacies of timing when it comes to comedy, writing and music and how much it sucks that failure is an essential part of success as an artist. This episode has more lore than all the seasons of Metalocalypse combined.
By popular demand, Brendon Small joins the show to talk Metalocalypse, Dethklok, Galaktikon, his new short film, and the art of guitar shredding. Check out "Galaktikon: Nightmare" at Funny or Die!

Filmmaker Duncan Jones put his philosophy degree to good use when he started making science fiction films. Now on his fourth one, Duncan tells Marc how he tries to crack life's big questions through sci-fi stories, including Moon and his new movie Mute, which he likens more to Robert Altman's MASH than to Blade Runner. Duncan also talks to Marc about the burdens of having a famous parent - his being David Bowie - when you're trying to carve your own path. Plus, comedian and metal guy Brendon Small returns to the garage to talk about his new Galaktikon project. This episode is sponsored by Squarespace. From the tragedy of his first gig to the triumph of his new album, Galaktikon II: Become the Storm, BRENDON SMALL plugs in his signature-model Gibson and Epiphone guitars and shows you how he succeeded in blending metal riffs, animation, and standup comedy to forge one of the most unique careers in the history of guitar. Picking up where Dethklok (the animated intergalactic thrash band from Brendon's hit series Metalocalypse) left off, Galaktikon has an even more massive sound, courtesy of huge armies of guitar and vocal overdubs stacked in spectacular harmony. On this episode, Brendon not only reveals how he planned, produced and recorded Become the Storm, he also shows you some of his favorite guitar techniques — some learned from other great players, and others arrived at on his own. Every time I meet with Brendon, he inspires me to take my playing, composition, and music production abilities to the next level; hopefully, with this in-depth interview, he will do the same for you. — JUDE GOLD, host, No Guitar Is Safe.

Episode #5 of the Geeks' Boutique Podcast is leaping over tall buildings and into your ear-holes now! We'll exaggerate about our Dick Picks as usual, during which the Geeks' Boutique Players will act out some of a new book from Albatross Funny Books, ( https://www.facebook.com/AlbatrossFunnybooks/ ), Galaktikon. Thanks to Jo Knipp for providing some background music called "Proposition" from his own Bat House Publishing. This is significant since this is a style called "Chip Music." It was used (and we suppose still used) in the early video games. Then we're talking' Marvel Legacy in "Beyond the Pages." In "The Mausoleum," we'll disinter our recommendations of the month, "68, Gunslinger Born, and Spook House." Stay tuned right after the show to hear a track from the Vibrolas, "Astro Space Van," from their album, "Memphis Cocaine Hippies." You can find them at https://www.facebook.com/Vibrolas/
