“Every day is a struggle, but I am lucky” Flan, Ali and Spida speak to Bali Bombing survivor Glen Foster as today is the 20-year anniversary. Glen talks about the day like it was yesterday, from the moment he woke up to the heartbreaking moment the bomb went off. He remembers the exact time and moments, as then to the moment the bomb went off. He said, “we actually heard the first explosion at that stage I didn't realise it was a bomb”, he says it was about 5 seconds before the next one. He was standing behind two girls, from Sydney who “unfortunately didn't come home”, it's something that still haunts him to this day. You can join Glen tonight at Allambie Heights Memorial at 5pm for a Memorial.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Bookkeepers' Podcast - Episode 172 How to manage the accounts payable function for your clients In this episode of The Bookkeepers' Podcast, Zoe Whitman and Jo Wood spoke to Glen Foster of Libeo about the most effective way to manage your clients' accounts payable processes. Owners of the smallest businesses are often quite happy making a handful of payments per month, but as businesses grow and evolve, many business owners are quite overwhelmed with paperwork. Of course, that's where a great bookkeeper can come in and take control of the full process, giving the business owner back their time and giving them peace of mind that everything is in hand. And there are additional benefits for the business owner. They may be able to optimise cash flow more effectively with a bookkeeper managing the timing of payment runs, a bookkeeper may also be able to manage the full payment process. Having access to clients' bank accounts however is not the right solution for some business owners - or bookkeepers. On this episode of The Bookkeepers Podcast we enjoyed speaking to Glen Foster about how the accounts payable function can be run in the best way, and how tools like Libeo can help bookkeepers manage payments for their clients. We think you'll find this episode interesting if you're thinking about how best to help your clients with this service. We covered: - The challenges for small businesses when it comes to payments - The challenges for bookkeepers with the traditional methods of offering accounts payable services - The value of accounts payable services and charging for the service - How Libeo works Timestamps 0:00 Introduction 1:04 What is Libeo 1:51 The challenges for business owners when it comes to payments 6:38 What should bookkeepers consider for an accounts payable process 9:11 How regularly to speak to your clients about accounts payment 12:36 The value of the accounts payable function 16:08 How to price accounts payable 19:27 The challenge with access to bank accounts 20:38 How checking and validating invoices helps avoid invoice fraud 21:42 How Libeo works About our guests Find out more about Libeo at Libeo.io About us Join The 6 Figure Bookkeepers' Club on Facebook at 6figurebookkeeper.club Find out more about The 6 Figure Bookkeeper at 6figurebookkeeper.com/links Watch the full podcast episode on YouTube or listen wherever you get your podcasts.

It's been a weird year. Since the beginning. We have been living a wave that started in Asia and continued through Europe. Now it is in The Americas... We have been learning the do’s and don'ts of the pandemic but there is something we are still wondering. How will we work from now on? What is next? Am i going to live and work for ever and ever at home? The answer is NO. But we certainly don't know what is going to happen.... “return to Workplace, Navigating the new normal”. Glen Foster is one of the founding fathers of Canadian standup. In 1982, he voyaged west with a ragtag bunch of comedians from Toronto's Yuk Yuk's and brought laughs to our shores. We talk about that, growing older, and, as always with Foster, politics. I work my hardest to convince him that our dear leader, Justin Trudeau, is doing good work.

“That Canadian Guy” has plenty to say – funny, relevant, likable and always engaging. Check out this podcast as Glen talks about our police state, the legalization of pot, and the difference within politics of leaders of leaders who are incompetent versus being evil.BiographyGlen Foster has been one of the top comedians in Canada for nearly thirty years. He didn’t just work the road; he’s one of the guys who helped to build it. Glen appeared in his first one-hour comedy special, “That Canadian Guy” in 2000 and, since then, the moniker has stuck. Many of his fans don’t even know his actual name, but they do know one thing: “That Canadian Guy” is one of the funniest comedians anywhere.Glen’s comedy appeals to those people who appreciate a more intelligent, but slightly “edgy” brand of humour. His material is mostly clean and always clever, topical and timely, reflecting his own experiences, current events and popular culture. He’s also not afraid to inject his own political and sometimes “politically incorrect” social commentary from time to time.Glen recently appeared in his second one hour Comedy Network special and has also performed on numerous other television shows including seven appearances with CBC’s, “Just for Laughs”, as well as “The Winnipeg Comedy Festival“, “Halifax Comedy Festival”, and “The Mike Bullard Show”. He is a weekly guest contributor on the Sun News Network and he can also be heard frequently on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters”.Glen has recently released his third concert CD, “Prickly: Live at The Rose” and check out some of his video clips here: 1 and 2.
