Leisel has a game of Idioms. Try to guess where the saying came from! Liam has some fresh Gold Coast Gossip. Whispers are that the newest sports franchise on the GC will be a netball team! Leisel is fed up with being asked to review everything. The list of review requests is insane. The FIFA World Cup kicks off TODAY so Liam tests Leisel and Spida’s football knowledge with a game of “fill in the blank.” Fair to say, their knowledge leaves a bit to be desired. Finally, Spida’s Spray gets political. Australia is starting to feel the heat from Pauline Hanson and he thinks it is time that that everyone prepares for the impossible to be realised – is Pauline truly a chance?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The team discuss what niche hobby or activity they could go to the World Championships for - Parallel parking, card throwing, Backgammon and catching oysters in the mouth? Leisel had a shocking moment at the hairdresser yesterday, when the hairdresser shaved the back of her neck and then kept going down, shaving her back! She never knew she had a hairy back - someone call the authorities, bigfoot has been found! The team run through their Worst Movies Podium. Avatar, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood & Star Trek all top the lists! With a special surprise sporting guest, Liam brings in his brother to talk all things Australian Open Lawn Bowls. Spida is fascinated, until he starts talking about his upcoming travel. His granddaughter has some demands, which mean airport humiliation for the big fella. How does he walk through the airport with a metre tall stuffed unicorn?!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The team play a game of “Herd Mentality” where they have to try and say the same word from a prompt. Turns out, they are no good at thinking like a herd. We all have traumatic memories from grandparents’ house. Broken glasses, smells, foods and more. We hear from the Gold Coast about their grandparent trauma, including being forced to watch scary VHS tapes & shovelling show-cat poo. Spida and Leisel face off in a “hot and cold” debate about curb side parking. Spida is HOT and thinks it should be banned, but Leisel can’t understand how that could work. Leisel also has a problem with Robina at the moment. There is a distinct stench as she drives down Robina Parkway every morning. Turns on she is not imagining it & listeners call in to give their theories and try get to the bottom of the stink.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Producer George took advantage of the Triple M Gold name on Saturday to go VIP to the Tweed Seagulls home game! He has a case to answer… Aussie Emergency Glass bought the show at the Give Me 5 charity auction, so the team take calls about broken glass stories! We’ve all been there. Liam and Leisel had howlers on the weekend that left them both very red-faced. Spida is called in as judge, to decide who embarrassed themselves worse. What’s worse - losing your glasses twice, or eating at a catholic school event before the Principal has had a chance to say grace…George made the most of the footy and didn’t extend the invite to the rest of the team. He even took a bunch of mates with him! What a joke. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Producer George chooses his 1, 2, 3’s of the week and Spida has had a shocker! The stink bucket flop + his embarrassment at one of GC’s night of nights. Liam has a suggestion for a bachelor-style video to kick off the Logies this year, in the wake of Sam Pang stepping away from his role as host. It’s flu season and everyone is sick, so Spida blesses the Gold Coast with his sure-fire remedies (that we do not recommend and almost certainly will not make you feel better). Finally, hear the full recap of the Gold Coast Australian of the Year Awards. Spida basically heckled the winner of the award mid-speech + another great story emerged after Jesse Noonan from Rock ‘n’ Slide Skateboarding accepted his award!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
George is looking for names for his sourdough starter. The team’s suggestions are sub-par! Cooly Rocks On is underway, the epic nostalgia festival that takes over the southern Gold Coast. Spida reflects on the history of the festival and how his Cooly Rocks experiences have changed over the years. From hooner, to family man, to old man! Spida Sprays Gold Coast billboard outrage & it leads to conversation about “Birds & the Bees” chats. The Gold Coast call in to tell the team how they were taught and how they have gone about it with their kids! Liam recently met someone with a booger in their nose, and he was not comfortable to tell them. Fair enough or dog act?! Finally, Give Me 5 is BACK. Triple M Gold in partnership with the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation are back to raise funds for patient’s transport costs for oncology. It’s a vital service and worthy cause for bringing back Give Me 5.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Producer George has started trying to make sourdough (in an attempt to become more interesting). The rest of the team gives some skills they would like to know to make them more interesting. Musical instruments, fashion, farming or cars? There is a Tassie Devil loose on the Gold Coast and the clock is ticking! How can we track down Mary and what do we do if we find her?! Queensland days is this weekend, so the team give their Podiums of QLD and for the first time ever, everyone has the same thing on their podium – Steve Irwin, obviously! Spida’s Stinky Bucket comes to an almighty finale. Liam and Leisel play a bluff game to see who has to take on the bucket and Liam comes off second best. The stench is… something?!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Leisel has a whinge at a shockingly bad pocket call she made at 10pm on Saturday night. She called her financial planner and was very bloated. Let’s just say they may have received a slightly farty voice mail... Unreal! Spida brings his spray forward to this morning so that there is time to plan. WHOEVER is responsible for it - with the biggest SUNS home game ever this weekend - the parking situation needs to be sorted out! Spida gives his recommendations to the government, the council and the SUNS about how to keep things flowing this weekend. Rod McLeod is brought in for a special interview, without telling him prior. Rod the Newsreader is a huge Angels fan and the team give him an impromptu interview with John Brewster about their upcoming show at Coolangatta Hotel as a part of Cooly Rocks On. Finally, Spida sets the stage for a game of bluff to decide who has to sniff his disgusting bucket!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Chewing gum has been banned on Gold Coast trams, with threats of fines. At first the team thought this was a ridiculous rule, but now they are thinking more fines might help stop these rate rises. They chat about the antisocial behaviours that should be made fineable offences! Not returning shopping trollies and slow coffee orders are at the top of the list. Tom Tate joins the show to talk about those rate rises, the rumours about matching Olympic pay, the SUNS traffic problem and more. Leisel Likes is back with a new Tik Tok series about a kid digging a hole every day until he reaches China. We have all thought about it, this kid is living it! Spida’s Stinky Bucket Bluff continues with a phone call about why it should absolutely be left alone and not opened. Phil painted his office with off paint months ago and can still barely go inside. Airs it out every morning!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The crew dives deep into the Cleveland Cavaliers' massive offseason dilemma, arguing whether the franchise must choose between keeping Donovan Mitchell or fully committing to Evan Mobley's development. With rumors swirling about a blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo or a legendary final run with LeBron James, the guys break down exactly what it will take to push the Cavs back into true championship contention.

Liam thinks everyone should know their favourite: Film, Album and Dish. Do you know yours/ Leisel responds to IOC President, Kirsty Coventry's, comments about why Olympians should not get paid. The shows resident Olympic legend says that "glory doesn't pay the bills." She goes as far as saying that with the pay the way it is, and bills the way they are, she would not encourage people to pursue the Games. "The glory is not worth it." Spida tees off on tip fees. He's not too upset about the $5 fee being brought in for landfill, but he says that $5 should also give us the right to go back to the good old days, where you could scour the tip for goodies. One man's trash, as they say...Hot topic Gold Coast issue at the moment is the black kelpie "Willy Wonka" born with an extra appendage. The team try and dance around discussions about the unlikely extra "old fella". Miss Chrissy Keepance joins the show to chat about Cooly Rocks On and her work as a pinup pageant mentor & so much more. Her ultimate challenge - get Spida doll'd up!Talk about putting lipstick on a pig...See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Tobin continues to annoy the gang with his pronunciation of OTAs; as we continue to report news and media coming out of the second day of OTAs for the Miami Dolphins. After Spida seemingly defends James Harden Tobin proclaims that he is out on Donavon Mitchell; which Leroy and Brittney of course think is crazy. Brian Windhorst expects the Cavs to go after Giannis and the gang discusses how that wouldn't work!
It's rugby league Christmas! The team give the rundown of their plans tonight for the game. Leisel and Spida have very disappointing plans. In honour of the game, Podiums this week is the Greatest Rivalries! Liam is not on board with Spida's, but he can hardly talk. The listeners call in to have their say and let Spida know how they feel about his effort. Leisel saw a Gold Coast business name recently that caught her eye and she needed to tell the team. It is not what was expected and why it appealed to her is even more of a concern! Boston flies back to the US this morning after a visit home. He was asleep when Spida left the house this morning, so why not call him and say a proper farewell? Maybe because Spida is the least expressive, emotional person of all time. Perfect - made for the ultimate awkward interaction when Sheree and Boston joined the show.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We dive into why New York suddenly looks built for June basketball, why Brunson has become the king of the Garden, and which Finals matchup gives them the better shot at a ring. Then we shift to Cleveland. Kevin Costner is floating around the Gold Coast, so the team answer the question: Which star is big enough that you would go out of the way to see them? Liam thinks The Rock, Spida wants Trumpy and Leisel thinks Kim Kardashian. George would go out of his way for Danny Devito! Spida went suit shopping yesterday and reveals that he can’t go shopping without Sheree. He’s not alone – everyone knows about the “man seat” in the shops and plenty of folks can’t be trusted to pick their own clothes. Tom Tate wasn’t available to chat to the team today, so auditions were taken for a replacement. The team got a direct quote from the Mayor about issues affecting the Gold Coast and Pete from Pimpama absolutely nailed the delivery. Classic. The man across all the local happenings, Nicka35, calls in to give the latest about Kevin Costner’s whereabouts – Keep your eyes peeled in Tugun! Time for the Gold Coast to get its own “Hollywood” sign?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Enhanced Games is underway & the show talk about what it would take to compete. Kyle Chalmers declined millions - Leisel chats about what she would have done if the offer came in when she was competing. A controversial new statue has gone up in Surfers, of Dog Man and Rabbit Lady riding a stainless steel dolphin. Opinions are divided, or at least confused! Leisel has a new mantra about positivity in every cell of the body. It’s a mantra for a happy life and Spida is on board, but Liam is far more cynical about mantras. Spida is fed up, whinging after the weekend in the wake of the news that Cheezels is releasing a Salt & Vinegar flavour. Blasphemous!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Spida tries to start the pod with remixes of nursery rhymes but it turns out they are so much cruder than he could say! Producer George than gives his 3, 2, 1 from the week, for the team’s performances. Liam has been a basket case, Spida got better as the week progressed and Leisel Jones takes the win for the energy this week. Liam chooses his Child of the Week and Quinn’s dental bravery takes the award. Leisel has a neighbour that had an embarrassing mispronunciation, so the team hear from the Gold Coast about their tricky words. Scott Pendlebury breaks the AFL games record this weekend and despite retiring almost 20 years ago, Spida played against him! Spida seems to think it would have been the highlight of Pendles’ career & the stats of their matchups is laughable. Finally, Liam had a shocker yesterday on the golf course, losing all of his belongings and being generally all over the shop. It made him realise something about his marriage that he has to delve deeper into… Have a good weekend!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
To start the pod we hear if the team has anyone that they need to apologise to! Liam has a big apology to the people living below him in London many years ago. Spida sprays pickleball courts because they are popping up everywhere. It seems like they are the only developments getting approved and going ahead. Hide your Voltaren! Liam has a bone to pick with WhatsApp group messages, saying that people need to take some responsibility for their messaging, then Leisel and Liam get mad at Spida for not showing up to an event last night. He has no excuses. They attended an exclusive event about the top Onlyfans earners in the country... Spida would have stood out like a sore thumb! Early in the show Spida made a claim about coat hangers being shaped into the map of Australia. The others think people had to buy them shaped like that to use as antennas, but Spida is adamant he can do it. Prove it!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The team answer what their favourite creature comfort is, that they can’t live without. Leisel is a big slippers wearer, Spida loves his trackies and Liam has a special spot on the couch. Spida and Sheree spent 3 hours on Facetime with his grandparents, trying to explain how to load a TV show on Netflix. We all know the feels, with the older generation and constantly changing technology. Leisel is awaiting a new arrival and has been prepping a nursery at her house. Spida has some extra suggestions, to make sure it is properly set up. Liam has returned from his 100-miler as a champion and a success, but it wasn’t all roses and rainbows. Liam is out of the studio running 100 miles like an absolute madman. Boston is back from the US and is in the bad books because he wanted his mates to pick him up for the airport. He is only back for a week and said he will only be around for 3 days to see his folks! “I brought you into this world, I’ll take you out of it!” Spida loved Pauline Hanson’s quote about the Budget & the show reflect on the best Aussie politician quotes. It’s Magic Round and Leisel has a plan for getting a win for the Titans. Etsy Witches. Everyone is very confused, but anything is worth a shot for the Titans at this point. Finally, the great Michael Klim joins the show to talk about the Cooly Classic this weekend and his move to QLD.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The team are asked what body part they are, in the context of the show. Spida: Lungs or Mouth? Liam: Brain or Armpit? Leisel: Skin or Colon? George: Liver or Kidneys? Gorden Tallis joins the show to talk all things Magic Round & Titans! We are right behind the boys as they take on Newcastle on Sunday. Spida is away and using a hire car that is beeping at him every time he opens the door. He has to tell everyone around that he is not stealing it and has to climb out the back door to stop it beeping. A caller joins the show to give Spida the very simple solution… Leisel was pumped for the budget yesterday and spent all day waiting for it to kick off. We’re not sure how far she got through, considering she forgets the name of the Treasurer of Australia… Leisel fills the boys in about all the drama and excitement of the budget last night. Breaking news this morning on the Gold Coast with Trump Tower being scrapped. Spida is fired up! He is not happy with the petition and what this means for the Gold Coast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Liam is about to set off on his 100-mile race. Absolute insanity and the team have some final thoughts. They answer questions about things they would rather do, than run 161km. Fair to say, they would go pretty far… Leisel is worried about getting a new car and the GC make her feel no better by telling their stories about brand new things that they’ve broken. Spida Sprays the Trump Tower news, saying the Gold Coast need foreign investment to make these massive projects go ahead. Liam gives the odds on things that may cause him not to finish this race. His calves, his brain and his bowels are all in the mix. Leisel and Spida put their money on him not finishing… Really optimistic stuff + The politician cheating scandal in Brissy gets the team talking. Do we care? Should we? Liam in charge of Question of the Day asks the team what job they would take in a small town. Cops, publicans, firies, psychologists and plenty more. Leisel is receiving no sympathy and she’s fed up - she wants people to appreciate how bad her ingrown toenail is & to give her the love and care she deserves. Spida and Liam don’t give her anything, so she takes to the phones and gets sympathy from the listeners. They are totally on her side. Financial guru and friend of the show, Scott Phillips, joins to break down the budget tonight and how to best enjoy the “grand final” of Australia’s financial calendar. Leisel has some questions about EV’s & Spida wants to know how anyone could suffer through watching it. Liam has a game for the other two about iconic songs in film. Chemical Brothers “Go” has exploded since the release of Apex and there are so many songs that immediately take you into a scene! Too bad Leisel and Spida are hopeless with movies!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Producer George asks the team if they have heard the “Trifecta Food Theory” that classifies all foods as either a sandwich, salad or soup. The go down a bit of a culinary rabbit hole. They think steak is proof that the theory is incorrect. Liam and his son Mack got attacked by a blind pelican over the weekend & we hear from the Gold Coast about their best animal attack stories. Leisel then breaks down the news about Alexa Leary missing out on the Comm Games team due to her reclassification, what it means for Alexa and how it fits in the context of parasports. Liam thinks it opens a very obvious door for Alexa to be picked up as a broadcaster for the Games! Finally, having a lovely morning for Mother’s Day on Sunday, Spida’s world got turned upside down by 3 simple words when he and Sheree stopped in to a bottle-o. “Just the usual?” What a fool!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday imminent, Spida asks what the world will be like when the team turns 100? Flying cars, augmented reality, space travel? With Mother’s Day on Sunday we hear from the listeners about mum’s important lessons. Attenborough also famously doesn’t have a driver’s licence & the team want to hear from other older non-drivers. Liam picks Mack, against all odds, as his Child of the Week due to his tuckshop order! + Leisel got filthy while turfing her yard and was visiting Bunnings an absolute mess, when an employee offered to hose her down in Bunnings. We hear a not-safe-for-radio response that Spida gave ON TV in 2006, about the thing that first attracted him to Sheree. Diabolical response! The team also discuss whether you would rather be an hour early for everything, or 5 minutes late. Tom Tate has signed on the dotted line (apparently) to make flying taxis happen by 2032. The studio is divided about how realistic it is, but Spida is totally onboard and convinced. Liam thinks he has lost the plot. In 2006 Spida was on Family Feud and Liam found the footage! In a moment that you couldn’t script, Spida is offered the same question as 20 years ago and he answers the same… INCORRECTLY! Shane Jacobson the legend joins the show to chat his new show “Oops I Bought a Pub,” about his recent venture in rural Victoria. Always good for a laugh, Shane may have bitten off more than he can chew in the world of being a publican. Leisel asks the crew QOTD: How long would you survive as a character in a horror film? Leisel thinks she’s one of the first to go, Spida dies a hero’s death, Liam is a middle order death, and the jury is out on George. Mayor Tom Tate joins the show to chat about the surfing over the weekend, building statues for our surfing icons, beach bars and more. Spida even asks the Mayor for $350K… Leisel recently watched the Netflix doco “Should I Marry a Murderer?” and she LOVED it, but it also made her furious. Spida kept his birthday over the weekend verrrrry quiet, so we celebrate with some calls wishing the big fella happy birthday and sharing some stories, including an International Women’s Day dinner that he attended dressed as a lady. Different time? Finally, the story out of the AFL on the weekend was the Brisbane Lions whiteboard, with the strengths and weaknesses of their opposition. Exclusively, we secured images of a rival radio station’s analysis of our show. They identified Liam’s height, Spida’s grasp of the English language & Leisel’s hermit behaviour as potential weaknesses they can exploit. Game on! Live from the WSL Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro at Snapper Rocks! The team is joined by Vaughn Blakey, WSL commentator, surf film director and all-round legend. He gives a rundown of Snapper and the comp, and what to expect on this massive weekend. He looks a little like Spida’s long lost brother, but as it turns out he is related to Leisel! Second cousins! Liam gets risky by starting his new segment “Child of the Week”. Quinn takes the cake as Mack has learned how to use Dad’s job to manipulate! Connor O’Leary is competing this weekend & joins the show to talk about pressure, his representation of Japan in the Olympics & what it’s like to surf Snapper with no one out! Finally, Leisel went to Palaszczuk’s book launch last night, full of drama as her boyfriend’s Burleigh home was being raided at the same time!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Gold Coast winter Olympian and social media sensation Desi Johnson joins the show to talk about her journey from sprinter, to flying down the hill in a bobsleigh! A crazy and unexpected adventure into the unknown for one of the GC’s most exciting upcoming stars. The QLD Government has launched a new campaign called “Operation Interpose” after a horror run on the roads, but no one seems to have actually heard of it. Spida questions whether it’s just another forgettable campaign, especially compared to hard-hitting campaigns like the Grim Reaper. He makes some proposals based on other campaigns like “Drive like your mother is watching,” and the NT’s “C U in the NT”.” Right now, “Operation Interpose” isn’t cutting through, so maybe we get Lara Bingle to reimagine the “where the bloody hell are ya?” The annual LinkedIn review is out for the top 20 places to work in Australia, with CommBank somehow topping the best list - but Liam took things in a very different direction, unveiling his own “investigative journalism” into the bottom five. A new spot called “Somewhere Good” is opening in Surfers Paradise, where you can pour your own pint, sparking a bigger debate about hospitality. Spida drops a huge call, saying service here is terrible and tipping should be brought in, arguing the U.S. does it better. Let’s just say the public is not with him. Leisel somehow snagged a ticket (it’s free…) to the most exclusive event on the Gold Coast – Annastacia Palaszczuk’s book launch at the library! Liam sets a challenge to buy a book to get a copy signed, with a bit of a twist.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
If you were thrown into one of the toughest reality shows going, could you handle it? SAS Australia vs UK kicks off tonight on Channel 7, and it’s as brutal as ever. Mack Horton joins the show and admits to wetting his pants under pressure. Physically, it’s manageable, but mentally? That’s where it really breaks people. The athletes seem to cope better, able to switch off instantly, while the non-athletes struggle to find that balance. And yes neighbour’s Toadie is flying the flag for Team Australia. Mack is hilarious and chats about how it all went down! Meanwhile, big changes are coming to the Gold Coast, with the Surfers Paradise Esplanade now permanently closed to traffic. The push is on to be bold and finally bring beach clubs to life in the space. Annastacia Palaszczuk has a new book on the way, The Politics of Being Me although Liam reckons it should’ve been called Hard to Say, Easy to Read. There’s a lingering frustration about decisions made during the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast & Palaszczuk has apologised for how it was handled. Listener Jason from Mount Tamborine calls in, stunned at some of the show’s recent takes on their Podiums of Australian Bands. While Jase demanded answers from Liam and Spida, Leisel remained untouchable because she was head down, underwater, winning gold medals for the nation. In surf news, while Burleigh continues to dominate the conversation, Liam’s been down at Snapper and is all in on the return to the iconic rocks. The pros are already out there getting loose, and Dimity Stoyle has claimed the wildcard - her first tour appearance in 11 years. The buzz is building, and the team will be broadcasting live from the action this Friday morning!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
If you could freeze time for 24 hours at the end of every week, would you? It means you age faster than anyone else, but you get some extra alone time to catch up on life. The studio is split - Spida and Liam would love the extra time, but Leisel and George think it’s a waste. Plenty of extra time for activities, but would you be lonely? Spida is back from his adventure visiting his son in Iowa. To pay for leaving early, he owed the show a Getaway style segment about Iowa. He delivered it - in style. Getaway presenter Lincoln Lewis joins the show to critique it & let’s just say he’s nervous for his job… Leisel got a surprise delivery at the door when she ordered curtain rods and an expensive coffee table rocked up. An age old dilemma! Can she, in good conscience, keep the table because it was their stuff up? Finally, the show holds an intervention for Liam. His New Year’s Resolution was to be better at calendar management and he has been atrocious. Worst of all, he slept through a Sunrise sports segment he was supposed to present on the weekend.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
