Welcome to the first episode of 2026 from The Wellness Institute of Dallas—an eye-opening conversation that could transform your approach to healing! In this can't-miss installment, Dr. Matt Rayner (DC) and Dr. Nutt (DC) dive deep into a topic that's often overlooked, yet powerful: the role of faith in health recovery. Whether you think of faith as a spiritual practice, a mindset, or simply the unwavering belief in your body's ability to heal, this episode unpacks why it's the true cornerstone of achieving positive health outcomes.Have you ever wondered why some people thrive despite daunting health challenges while others struggle, even with the best doctors and treatments? The hosts explore the science and neurobiology behind faith, showing how your thoughts, mindset, and beliefs directly affect your physiology—sometimes even more than medications or therapies. From placebo and nocebo effects to real-world stories of patients whose healing journeys were impacted by doubt and dysfunction in trust, this episode gets real about what it actually takes to get well. You'll hear practical strategies for rewiring your mindset, activating your brain's healing powers, and breaking out of self-limiting beliefs. Discover how simple actions like exercise, meaningful social connections, and mental “reps” of faith can switch your body from survival mode to repair mode, unleashing your natural ability to recover. The hosts don't shy away from tough topics: skepticism in traditional healthcare, chronic pain, post-infection syndromes, and the powerful impact of identity in healing (hello, “I'm just the POTS person”).If you or someone you love feels stuck on the path to wellness—dealing with persistent symptoms, anxiety, doubt, or feeling unheard—this episode delivers hope, science, and actionable tools. Learn why acknowledging your challenges without giving in to hopelessness is essential, and how faith truly acts as a biological and neurochemical intervention.Whether you're here for scientific insights, spiritual connection, or practical advice, The Wellness Institute of Dallas gives you a fresh perspective on healing—proving that faith might just be the most important medicine of all.Tune in now and let Dr. Matt Rayner and Dr. Nutt show you how faith can be your strongest asset on the journey to health!

Hemispherics
#89: ¿Más allá del cerebro? Casos que desafían el paradigma mente-cerebro

Hemispherics

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing,” said Abraham Lincoln in a letter to Isham Reavis dated Nov. 5, 1855. Health and well-being hold high importance for many people, and the approach of the holiday season and the following new year often leaves them wondering about what changes, or resolutions, they might want to implement to improve their lives – and how to make them. In the latest episode of The UC Irvine Podcast, we're leaning on the wisdom of a pair of people who've committed their careers to providing guidance on all those topics: Matthew Landry, assistant professor of population health and disease prevention in UC Irvine's Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health, and Theresa Nutt, administrative director of education at UC Irvine's Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. Landry's research interests include identifying the optimal diet for chronic disease prevention, and Nutt is a registered and holistic nurse who has also been a health and wellness coach since 2003. In this podcast, they team up to discuss why it's hard to stick to our diets during the holidays and share tips on how to avoid overindulging. In addition, they'll address prioritizing activities that benefit physical fitness and how to reframe thoughts around resolutions to encourage better success. “Fresh Healthy Perspectives,” the music for this episode, was provided by Birocratic via the audio library in YouTube Studio.

Coach Nutt opens up about his battle with cancer, the lessons it taught him and how it impacts the way he approaches life and coaching.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

On this episode of Success is Subjective, Joanna brings you another story from our special former participant series where she extends the opportunity for former participants who feel comfortable sharing their journey with others. Today's former participant is Phil Nutt. Phil grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where by most standards, he had a relatively normal upbringing and was a fairly normal boy – minus anger issues that plagued him from a young age. By the time he was 15 years old, Phil became a full blown alcoholic and his addiction only got worse with time as drugs were thrown into the mix of his substances. Come freshman year of college, Phil's life was spinning out of control as the decisions he made while under the influence became intensely dangerous. Phil shares with listeners an honest look at his off and on treatment journey and what ultimately gave him the desire and ability to maintain his sobriety. He also explains the meaningful work he does today as he helps young men who are in a similar position as he was when he was younger. NOTE: The podcasts in this series can include sensitive subjects such as suicide, self-harm, substance abuse, hospitalizations, psychotic episodes, and other traumatic experiences which include parts of the treatment journey. No topic is off limits and not all stories are positive but they are real, raw, and transparent.**Listener discretion is advised** Phil's Resources:Choice House Addiction Treatment CenterLegacy Treatment CenterJaywalker LodgeThe RetreatThe Bridge to RecoveryConnect with Joanna Lilley  Therapeutic Consulting AssociationLilley Consulting WebsiteLilley Consulting on Facebook Lilley Consulting on YouTubeEmail joanna@lilleyconsulting.com#TherapeuticConsulting #LilleyConsulting #Successful #YoungAdults #TherapeuticPrograms #Therapy #MentalHealthMatters #Podcast #PodcastCommunity #StudentMentalHealth #TheJourney #SuccessIsSubjectivePodcast #TheUnpavedRoad #PFCAudioVideo #SelfEsteem #ParentingAdvice #ParentingTeens #SuccessfullAdults #ChoiceHouse #Recovery #AddictionTreatment #RecoveryIsPossible

Stage 3 of Sahara Gravel in Morocco was harder than pretty much anyone was anticipating. Despite seeming to have hardly any climbing, it proved to be the toughest day yet and the first stage that took the riders deep into the Sahara Desert. Payson sat down with British rider Maddy Nutt, who has been battling for first place with Luise Valentin since day one. She talks about getting caught in the sand, how this race stacks up with Migration Gravel, and why she avoids events with a certain type of professional rider. Then, we get an Adventure Stache first: five interview subjects in one conversation. The self-titled Girl Group consists of five friends from around Europe and the UK — Laura, Sam, Sophie, Josie, and Claire, who are taking the race at their own pace and enjoying the heck out of it. They talk about how they met each other and started doing events as a group, and their highlights and lowlights of the race so far.Instagram: @theadventurestacheYouTube: Payson McElveen
