Tijdens de Tour de France 2026 maken wij iedere dag een podcast. In vijftien minuten praten we je bij over wat je echt moet weten voor de volgende etappe. Vandaag staan we uitgebreid stil bij de nachtelijke dopingcontroles van Tadej Pogacar en Jonas Vingegaard, hoe Visma | Lease a Bike door moet na de opgave van de Deen en hoe ver Remco Evenepoel kan komen in deze slotweek.Het is de tweede rustdag in de Tour de France 2026. Waar dat normaal gesproken een drukke bedoening was met legio persconferenties, zijn er maandag nóg minder persconferenties dan een week geleden. Alleen Remco Evenepoel en Florian Lipowitz waren beschikbaar voor de pers. Daarbij liet de Belg ontvallen de komende week eerder naar bed te gaan, om toch te proberen zo veel mogelijk slaap te pakken mochten dopingcontroleurs hem uit zijn bed lichten zoals bij Pogacar en Vingegaard.Was het dan stil en saai op de rustdag? Allesbehalve. Zo bracht l'Equipe naar buiten dat de nachtelijke controles zijn goedgekeurd door een Franse rechter, omdat er sprake zou zijn van 'ernstige en consistente verdenkingen'. Verslaggevers Maxim Horssels en Youri IJnsen verwachten daarom dat de controles de laatste week het nieuws zullen beheren. En hoe moet Visma | Lease a Bike nu verder? Er liggen weinig kansen op een ritzege, behoudens voor Sepp Kuss. Of moeten ze voor de top-10 gaan met Davide Piganzoli?

Vandaag analyseren we het krachtsverschil tussen geletruidrager en ritwinnaar Tadej Pogacar en zijn eerste uitdager Jonas Vingegaard. Maar ook Remco Evenepoel heeft vertrouwen getankt en krijgt het podium terug in zicht.Bij Visma | Lease a Bike was er na de rit naar Le Lioran berusting in het feit dat Tadej Pogacar op dit moment beter is dan Jonas Vingegaard. Hoewel de Deen in de finale nog Davide Piganzoli bij zich had terwijl de Sloveense wereldkampioen op dat moment zijn laatste troef verloor met Isaac Del Toro, is een ploeg nog altijd zo sterk als de beste man. En die bleek andermaal Tadej Pogacar te heten. Hoewel hij niet superver wegreed van de concurrenten, was zijn prestatie andermaal indrukwekkend.En dat was tegen de zin van de Fransen op hun nationale feestdag. Pogacar werd namelijk meermaals uitgejouwd en 'boe' toegeroepen. Onze verslaggevers Maxim Horssels en Youri IJnsen keuren dit met klem af, al voelen zij wel dat er een ander soort gevoel begint te ontstaan rondom de Sloveen. Daarnaast steken ze de loftrompet op voor vechtjas Remco Evenepoel, die zich knap terugknokte in de tiende rit. Nederland moet een grotere bijdrage gaan leveren aan veiligheidsgaranties voor Oekraïne, en daar horen 'boots on the ground' bij. Dat schrijft de Adviesraad Internationale Vraagstukken (AIV) in een advies aan het kabinet. Bob Deen, algemeen directeur van Instituut Clingendael en Oost-Europa-expert is daar kritisch over. Volgens Deen past dit in de 'Europeanisering' van de NAVO.
