Known around the world as throw-away-children, street-kids are subject to abuse, neglect and exploitation. They arrive on the streets of towns and cities from dire circumstances to live or to escape the cycles of abuse and neglect. Yet many view them as an irritation or at the worst pests that need to be removed from society. In this episode we interview Social Worker Marion Thomas, chat in studio to Paul Hooper; Director of The Homestead Projects for Children and visit a number of local Outreach Projects working with kids in Muizenberg to get their perspectives. We look at some of the problems resulting from a life on the streets and how it impacts both the street children, residents and visitors in our communities. What should our responses be to them and how do we help solve the problems arising. There are two sides to every story, and we try to understand both.

A vintage episode with favorite guest Paul Hooper. This one got out of hand, in the best way possible.
Paul Hooper is my guest. A fellow Astorian & OCD’er, Paul has appeared on AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live & has performed in 42 states & 10 different countries. We pick things up with Paul & I discussing what makes a comedy situation ideal. Then we learn what out of state license plates means for your NYC neighborhood, how Paul feels about teamwork & what material not to do in Alabama. And attention New Hampshire, Vermont, Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Hawaii, Idaho & Utah: you’re the final 8 states Paul needs to perform at to make it an even 50, so what do you say???
Can podcasts be collector's items? We like to think this one is. This "best of" show is long, but worth every minute- with all four Paul Hooper appearances. Bonus appearances by Dave Attell and John Heffron.
The interview is a repeat with Dave Attell and Paul Hooper, but everything around it is all new, baby. Hurricane preps, relief, football, vegan hypocracy.
Paul Hooper joins Bob to talk about the upcoming LOTO Shootout2017. Nelson Spencer has more details of the Docks Expo, which has moved to Nashville. Plus, Al Griffin – boating historian – looks back at some of the best human powered vessels to plough the waters of America’s number one recreational boating venue. Bob’s No Wake Zone comes to you from Osage Beach on the shore of the spectacular Lake of the Ozarks. Known as the Magic Dragon, this man-made lake has more coastline than California and close to 100-thousand private vessels.
In this episode we get a little carried away- Paul Hooper cements his position as our favorite guest with his FOURTH appearance; heckler stories, working the road, the truth about the standup business. From the green room of The Comedy Showcase in Houston, I talk with comedian Paul Hooper. Paul has been featured at the HBO Comedy Fest, the Boston Comedy Fest, Michael Moore and Jeff Garlin's Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, the Vancouver Comedy Fest, and was a finalist in the 30th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. We discuss his move to and living in NYC, working the road, and I interrupt him a lot.
Paul Hooper's OCD finally got him to Canada. But his OCD also contributed to his earlier banishment. The North Carolina native talks about his eight years as a blackout drunk, picking up stray pieces of paper, checking out of hotels and why he'll never call 9-1-1. Again.
