Stephen Mahoney returns to our premiere series with the title track from his debut LP on the coveted Diffuse Reality imprint. We premiere the title track ‘Revised Revolutions', a gritty rolling techno groove that wastes no time in getting straight to the point, while poignant atmospheres slither around the dusty rhythm. Stephen Mahoney‘s graft in studio has resulted in a number of EPs, resulting in his debut on Coincidence Records a number of years ago. He subsequently founded Shelter Records, which had releases from Volster, Aubrey, Lars Huismann, Flexure, Ben Gibson, and a Lee Holman remix. Stephen and Jamie Behan formed the duo Flexure, who had two singles released and played at New Faces at Tresor. Stephens most recent endeavour and vocation Delinquent Delivery formed in Autumn 2018 from Lockertmatik, Nathan Jones and Stephen Mahoney. Followed by Rustal, Stuey Lyons and Jon Hussey and Jack Jennings and most recently Jon Hussey & Stuey Lyons, James Cherry, Snakebite 616 & Stephen Mahoney. Stephen's 8 track debut album on Diffuse Reality see's the Dublin native draw dark and mechanical inspirations while still holding firmly onto his hypnotic sound. The album certainly reflects some of Stephen's inspirations, as trickles of classic Regis and Surgeon cuts seep through the album. High grade functional techno from the Delinquent Delivery boss man. This weeks entry to the Local Selection Mix Series welcomes Irish techno heavy-hitter, Flores. Supplying just over 70 minutes worth of quality techno, traversing through funky and harsher sounding selections from the Tullamore native. Making for an acute listening experience. Dig into this! Today we welcome Flores to the Local Selection Mix Series. The budding DJ and producer has shown to be a force to be reckoned with as of late, playing an array of shows spanning all across the country, including Galway, Limerick, Offaly, Dublin and Waterford. Flores has had an exciting year, where he supported the legendary Mauro Picotto in Galway and sold out a co-headline Shed Residents show with Mav666 as well as a sold-out solo Cork headline show. This week he announced his Belfast debut at The Telegraph Building on St. Patricks Day next year alongside Mav666, joined by blk., Aeron XTC and more on the line-up. No doubt 2023 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Flores and we cannot wait to see him flourish. Additionally, Flores holds a residency with CNTRL, a label and events collective that is Galway-Dublin based. CNTRL have made a valiant effort since entering the Dublin party landscape where they are eager to introduce a harder, more brass techno sound to the city. Having recently run a hugely successful local party at The Grand Social alongside Hybrid Events where they had Jamie Behan b2b Jon Hussey headline for their first ever back-to-back. Since then, they have been trusted in providing a Room 2 takeover in Monroe's in Galway for Ewan McVicar and Dart, which turned out to be a massive success. They're now looking forward to their first Room 2 takeover in Index on December 27th with TRYM, where the reception has been massive. If you are unfamiliar with Flores, whether it be his sound, productions or mixing capabilities, then you need to give this mix a listen. He has provided us with a recording that is nothing short of beautifully crafted mayhem. If you need a spring in your step, put this on. You won't be disappointed. Today we premiere some nail biting techno from a new Irish label Puragtory. Their first VA features an amalgamation of both Irish and international talent and today we host ‘Executioner' by Richie Corrigan which lyes on pulverising bass drums, textured distortion and metallic percussion. Irish techno party Purgatory launches its first chapter as a label with a hard hitting VA of angry techno. Purgatory was born in Berlin with the aim of hosting tough as nails techno parties with avant-garde acts from across Europe and Ireland. Purgatory has hosted heavy hitters Dave Clarke, Chlär, Echoes Of October, Illnurse, Cailín, Jamie Behan & more across Berlin, Manchester & Galway. The party & label celebrates its year anniversary of ferocious techno, with the birth of the label which features act's from Ireland and further ashore, which keeps in line with labels ethos. Among the bill of producers on the VA is Cailín, Richie Corrigan, D. Carbone, Aero, Myler, Felix6ood & Pet Duo. Today we host a ‘Executioner' from label founder Richie Corrigan. Richie cut his teeth as a DJ in Galway and Limerick, hosting parties in varous club as well as being responsible for multiple underground parties across the two cities before moving to Berlin. Over the years Richie has supported Dave Clarke, Paul Seul, Echoes of October, PETDuo, Cailín, Angy Kore, Gabriel Padrevite and more. ‘Executioner' lyes in a tangent with his love for distortion, and the tribal feeling of pounding bass. Tough off-kilter bass drums, work with sliver licked percussion hits and troublesome distorted atmospheres. The track has sudden breakdown points, before arriving at a new venomous energy. Our first premiere of the week starts off with a thump as PETDuo feature on Purgatory's first release with a high octane hard techno techno anthem. The Brazilian duo have supplied a rapacious peak time track, with slamming low end, tortuous synth lines and crisped looping grooves. Irish techno party Purgatory launches its first chapter as a label with a hard hitting VA of angry techno. Among the bill of producers on the VA is Cailín, Richie Corrigan, D. Carbone, Aero, Myler, Felix6ood & Pet Duo. Our second feature of the VA comes from Brazillian hard techno pairing, PETDuo. The formidable duo have been hugely influential in the hard techno scene over the years, spreading their sound across seminal parties, clubs and festival such as, Love Parade, I Love Techno, TimeWarp, Awakenings and countless others. The pair have also worked alongside some of techno's most influential characters in the world of hard, tough and straight up banging techno such as, Miss Djax, Svetec, Ben Long, O.B.I., Alex TB and Malke. Since forming on 1997 PetDuo have undoubtedly made their mark on hard techno and have released on Hydraulix, Audio Assault, their own imprints Cause Records, PHONK! Records, D & A Music & a host of others. PETDuo's contribution to the Purgatory VA show's the pair at the hardest and raviest as they blend an amalgamation of churning synths, groveling bass and hammering bass drums. This hard techno done properly, as the duo tell a story of peak time warehouse techno. We can see this getting played a lot over the summer. Jay began DJing at ripe age of 16 and by 18 he was asked to be resident at Disco Nouveau, a long running underground club night in his hometown of Mullingar. Fast forward a couple of years and he was invited to be resident at Twelfth Planet until he decided to begin his own journey as an independent promoter. With a career spanning well over a deacde Jay has graced some of Irelands most iconic venues such as; Tripod, The Tivoli Theatre, The Twisted Pepper and more. The Twisted Pepper (now Wigwam) has been home to many of Jay's show's and provided cathartic techno experiences for many punters. Since 2013 Mutate Events has been focused on bringing quality techno to Dublin with such artists as; Jeroen Search, Roman Lindau, Lewis Fautzi, Stefan Vincent, Abstract Division, Tensal, Abdulla Rashim, Tripeo, Mama Snake, Volvox, Amotik, Jamaica Suk, Rune Bagge, Héctor Oaks, Silent Servant, UVB, Charlton, RIVET along with many, many more. You get the jist…Jay most definitely knows what he's at. Working alongside and garnering support from some of the longest running nights Ireland has to offer such as Jamie Behan's Bastardo Electrico, Subject, Life Festival & Research, he has given his all to promoting a vibrant underground scene for the capital. He has a bi-weekly radio show on Ireland's number one online radio station, alongside his residents, UNTHINK, Corner, Exit the Void & Niall Cleary on Dublin Digital Radio, where he showcases the best upcoming talent Ireland's techno scene has to offer. This mix offers a slice of what Jay is all about, an ensemble of techno of various sorts rolled into a warped two hour trip. Jay made a point of playing unreleased music from various Irish producers including Aero, Fyun, David O'neil, Offtrack and more. A smooth yet carnivorous trip around Jay's back catalogue leaves the listener on the edge of their seat, unsure of what gnarly turn the mix might take next. This is the techno equivalent of a page turner novel.

We stop off in Cork for this weeks Local Selection, as we hand the controls over to 1/3 of the Elision collective, Dave O'Neill, as he provides us with an hour of Wednesday afternoon power. There's nothing we love more than hearing from DJs around the country, which is what the Local Selection series aims to do. The Elison collective have been on our radar for quite a while as both promoters and consistently solid DJs, so this mix from resident Dave O'Neil is a great addition to our evergrowing series. Dave is a Resident DJ of the Cork based collective Elision alongside Jack Devine and Fionn O Regan where they hold a residency in Dali. With Elision, Dave has been on the same bill as the likes of Bas Mooy, Dj Seinfeld, Ayarcana, Sunil Sharpe, Jamie Behan, Doug Cooney, Theologue and Offtrack to name a few, as well as making appearances at Mass Festival and Trax. He has recently finished studying DJ skills and music production in B.I.F.E under the guidance of Irish legends Sunil Sharpe, Defekt and Doug Cooney and is now furthering his education in B.I.F.E studying music production. Incoming! It's Friday, the weekend has almost landed and we premiere a loopy 90's inspired techno self-release from young Cork DJ and producer, Fionn O'Regan aka FYuN. Fionn O'Regan aka FYuN is a 23 year old DJ / Producer based in Cork City. Through hard work and dedication he has quickly made a name for himself on the forefront of the electronic music scene in Cork having shared stages with the likes of Sunil Sharpe, Jamie Behan, Doug Cooney, Theologue, Maedbh O'Connor, DJ Seinfeld, Offtrack and Jish to name a few. He launched the Elision collective with Dave O’Neill and Jack Devine in early 2018 which held a monthly residency in Cork's electronic capital, Dali Cork. After a couple of weeks of house, disco and DnB, we venture back into the familiar territory with an hour of techno, as we welcome Cork DJ, producer and promoter, Trail Of Thought to our weekly series. Although the name Trail Of Thought has only recently been bubbling under the surface of Ireland’s techno scene, the man behind the moniker has been a presence in Cork’s electronic music community for the last seven years, garnering experience and skill before coming into his own as an artist. Shane Miller's events starting out with under-the-radar DIY parties, including the use of an old cinema and a countryside warehouse, his club brand Prospekt eventually found a home in Dali, Cork. The event is now established as a techno night with a clear vision and booking policy. Prospekt was never originally about pushing international names and with Irish talents Maedbh O’Connor, Theologue, Cailín and Myler headlining the first few shows, Aeron, Bunkerterror and international heavyweights Clouds have since appeared on the bills, with Shane on support as Trail Of Thought, which is where his moniker has been gathering pace. Under the Trail of Thought alias, Shane has supported the likes of Bas Mooy, Ayarcana, Nico Moreno, Jamie Behan and Tommy Holohan. Our Local Selection podcast will be Shane's first recorded mix in 4 years and on this occasion, it’s a consistent supply of slamming techno throughout. An aural insight into the more straight-up, club-friendly corner of his collection, this is only one aspect of Shane’s approach as a DJ. With an adaptable aesthetic and evolving library covering all spectrums of dance music and now in the early stages of music production, Trail of Thought’s first instalment of our series has been just a glimpse of the young artist’s capabilities. So, for the next hour, grab a hard hat and stick this mix on full pelt, as this is a nightclub ready, no messing two footed tackler. It bangs. No track listing on this one unfortunately. It´s a recording from a B2B set with @bastardoelectrico Jamie Behan in the Gobsmacked bunker. Mostly Ghetto Techno and acid. Enjoy!
Doug Cooney has been one of the driving forces in Irish techno for a number of years now, both his productions and his DJ sets are marvelled around the country and further afield, receiving support from the likes of Bens Sims, Answer Code Request and Jon Hester. With previous releases on the likes of ORBIS, ORGONE, Research and his own RLSD imprint, we're delighted to see Doug's next EP was signed with none other than Bastardo Electrico, one of Irelands longest running labels/club-nights, headed up by Cork techno enthusiast Jamie Behan. Doug's Real//Sound imprint is more than just a label, it's also an independent music school for aspiring DJs and producers in Dublin, hosting workshops and showcases for those involved. We were lucky enough to pick up 'Higher Self' from his forthcoming 'Dark Stream' EP for a premiere. A deep, percussive track that channels the sound of old school techno with metallic riff that twist and turn while still maintaining a modern twist. The EP drops of Sunday, May 6th...
