Only 6 months since the last proper TPS session got uploaded. Quite the gap but I hope the @balamii sessions have been enjoyed in the mean time. This year we plan on 24 shows, 12 TPS & 12 Balamii. The Balamii shows of course focusing on live sessions with talent in person incorporating more rappers and B2B DJ's, and the the TPS sessions like this one to focus on guest mixes and interviews from those overseas. Joining me on VOL.19 was none other than Lil Rocketman. A key player in the Phonk scene right now. Originally hailing from Boulder, with a recent move to Denver. Rocketman is an active member of the community and one dedicating endless time to bringing the people together and promoting growth artist development. hey folks welcome to the Toyota Club studio and today's little mini lesson on making music it's so easy to do you know but you you still need to have a little bit of an ear and I improvise all my life stuff my life cello my live vocals but of course with the equipment that we've got we can if we've made a bum notes you know in your improv you can just move it and change it around so it's not not really a problem anymore but I still like that improvised feel you know especially when I play Marcello it sounds really lovely when you're doing price cello I only I'm not a brilliant cellist but you know I'm good enough I can do sort of Toppers and I can do a bass line if I want it but I never use it for the Baseline because the bass lines on GarageBand and logic pro are superb so you don't you know you don't need to pay a musician and if you don't I mean I'd love to play bass guitar actually maybe I will maybe I will I've freed up some time lately who knows you can never have too many instruments to learn I don't think anyway what did I do today let me get the logic pro up so I can tell you so this is um I love a bit of funk but I'm sort of old lady Funk if you know what I mean and basically what is Funk Funk is sort of It kind of disco Vibes actually with loads of cowbell and loads of distortion well I didn't use much Distortion well I didn't use any but there was some natural Distortion from the vocals I left that in there um I really like Distortion but it's not brilliant for something like a ringtone because you know people want something quite clear I think in in that little you know 30 seconds or five seconds even of whatever it is you're doing and because people are listening on the phone things do you know they come across slightly different they're really compressed you know as a MP4 MP3 they you know they they're really squashed the sound so you don't get that beautiful um textural Distortion that you get with you know live music I don't think so I didn't add any to it but I did use the cowbell big cowbell disco Breakum and I used across the Liffey I think that says Liffey l-i-w-f-e-y rhythm guitar which I really like I really really like it sounds just like a live rock band um so I used two different versions of that because the the wonderful it's a bit windy actually I don't know if you can hear it I've got the doors open because it's so hot um I think there's a storm brewing actually guys here so um I better get this done before rain stops playing I mean the thing is when there's a big storm I can't record because you're going to hear the rain against the window it's really interesting of course it's a great sound if you want to record that but there are Apple Loops of water so there's quite a few but if you want to use something different um because I use a lot of water recordings in my meditation stuff so anywayum what else 60s vocal chorus and and Vapor Punk vocal um my absolute favorite I'm going to launch Vapor Punk a bit better this week I'm going to give him his own um Instagram and stuff like that and do start doing some artwork for him because he's not he's not really he's only getting exposure on the ringtones and I think he needs a bit more um so here without further Ado I don't think we need further Ado do we so I won't play the version on my software I'll go straight to um going to the Disco Hard Rock the file no um pollution or background noise on it so fruity is for personal use as always enjoy it guys send it to your friends it's a really nice and I love this one already released on iPad ringtone app and already released on tune core as well so it'll be available worldwide within a day I suppose so here we go going to the Disco Hard Rock

We had the pleasure of interviewing EMM over Zoom video!Self-made instrumentalist, producer and songwriter, EMM, is merging Phonk and Pop for the release of her new single “LOZER” (With a Z). Over the years, EMM has built a reputation for creating music that showcases a woman's unapologetic power in a world that constantly tries to diminish it; and this song speaks to that. Written by EMM, “LOZER” (With a Z), most simply put, is about losing fear of what others think. She elaborates “I've never really fit in, and I've had to learn to accept myself as I am. The song is funny and lighthearted ("I heard she used to sniff sharpies") and self deprecating ("I'm such a fucking loser"), but at the same time also recognizing the empowerment in self acceptance ("I love the way I am cause I'm a God damn star").” The accompanying lyric video plays into the “Lozer” theme in the most outrageous way possible, with EMM making light of the dark lyrics while dancing around naked. Produced by Jason Mater, who has had extensive success in the sync world with Disney/Marvel, EMM made sure her current inspiration of Phonk was combined with her typical Pop sound.2023 is set to be the most epic year yet for EMM, as she gears up for a performance at The Roxy in Los Angeles on July 12th; along with her secret project, GENESIS, dropping in a few months. GENESIS is a two piece documentary and live performance that highlights what women go through in music, and dives into tough topics like sexual abuse in the music business. Like a true alchemist, EMM has turned the things that the industry and the world saw as an inconvenience- her vision, her strong opinions, her power, and her honesty - into her superpowers. EMM has spent the last few years building on her massive catalog of music, which includes her trilogy of mixtapes, EMERALD (2019), RUBY (2020), and SAPPHIRE (2021). Another 4 months passed between this show and the last but worth the wait none the less. When preparing my playlist for this I really wanted to deliver something out of the box and different. Something that could appeal to both the low and lazy Phonk fan, and a UK raver. Part of the TPS project is to elevate the genre and help it to be enjoyed in clubs, venues and festivals but the music scene can be stubborn, especially in the UK. The UK is home to some of the most refined underground music and sets the standard globally for a handful of genres. Nearly four months since the TPS spaceship has taken flight but were finally back again with another inspiration session. Winter months have had inspiration and motivation limited but pushed through in the end. I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and New Year, hope you managed to connected with loved ones and create some amazing memories.
